I recently stayed at the Club Mahindra Binsar Valley Resort, and was especially worried about the covid management at the resort, but once we reached the resort, the brilliant Manager, Mr. Madan Phartiyal, made sure that we had such a wonderful stay and felt so safe, that we all completely forgot to worry about covid..He ensured that our stay was extremely comfortable, and completely stress free. From making sure that all our room service calls were answered immediately, to even suggesting activities and what foods to try, he was always there to help. We were given the room with a premium view, and I must say, after Coorg, this was our most memorable Club Mahindra stay, and the credit goes entirely to Mr. Phartiyal and his team for giving my family excellent service.
The resort itself is in a picturesque location and the little bit of difficulty we encountered while reaching it given the Covid situation, was definitely worth it. Thank you The club Mahindra team and Mr Phartiyal again for making it possible for us to have a stress free and enjoyable vacation even when I was traveling with senior citizens. This was a much needed vacation for my family, and I am glad that we chose the Binsar valley resort to vacation.

As usual a visit to any Club Mahindra resort is a very nice experience. We were back at Binsar after 10 years. Was a tad disappointed that the log huts have not yet opened. Though the resort followed all the Covid protocols however one thing I noted that the guests were allowed to touch the serving spoons and serve themselves. This must be avoided at all costs and only gloved people at the restaurant must serve.
Mr Pawan and Mr Madan were helpful and explained me about the new and upcoming properties.
All in all we had an awesome holiday.

We visited Binsar and stayed at Club Mahindra, in October 2014. The rooms are very big, almost a mini cottage with a well equipped kitchenette. The property is very well maintained. The biggest attraction is sighting rare birds and beautiful butterflies early morning in the premises. There is also a recreation room with indoor games. Bird watching tours and hikes are also organized by the resort. The only weak aspect was the food menu which was very limited and also very expensive. Since the resort is at a secluded place, there is no other option available outside the premises for food. Otherwise, it's a very calm and peaceful place.

The service at this resort is the worst amongst all Club Mahindra resorts.
Front desk staff is utterly non responsive to your needs, I asked multiple times to be connected to the resort manager but to no avail.
During check-in, no welcome drink was served to us.
My call to housekeeping was diverted to front desk, I asked them for some help from housekeeping and when I called after an hour the front desk staff sounded clueless.
For other Kumaon resorts of CM, a host was assigned to us, here there was no host.
There was loud music from a marriage nearby going on till 12 in the night and starting from 8am in the morning... Imagine this happening all day long and then again the next day. The staff refused to help about this.
The swasti spa experience was poor. The massage was one of the worst that I've gotten and in freezing cold even though I kept telling the masseur that it was too cold.
Food was so-so. Lunch was really good but dinner was quite poor in taste. I put in a special request to the chef for some local food but the chef ignored the request.

Even though we went when it was so cold, the resort never had any bonfires as an evening activity. When we checked, the staff said that a bonfire would be lit only on paying rs1500 + GST + service charge.

Food for 6 people was for 7k Ala Carte. 1600 per person for buffet, if you are a member and 985 if you are a guest. But, the quantity is a dealbreaker. In one serving of paneer, two people might not get even a full chinese bowl. Daal is served in a flat bowl—less and cold. Tow tawa fulka for 75 without butter! The staff is arrogant—did not allow starters to be served in the room. Second day, dosa chutney had an off taste. They won't even give you darts to play if activity manager is not around—that means all day except two hours.
The only saving grace is room.

I travelled on 24th of September with parents .it was very convinent, they made sure to provide us attached room and provided all the best help for our elderly parents .
Food was a bit costly but the room and room service was 10/10.
I want to specially mention Amit Bisht (housekeeping advisor) for going extra miles and take care of all small amenities.
I strongly recommend the resort as well as the hotel staff for making our experience memorable.

This is a totally avoidable property at least from Mid-March till September End it is strictly a NO GO. BINSAR is counted as a hill station, which by default means that it is going to be cooler than the plains. But sadly, that is not true. So don't come here thinking that you are going to someplace cold. This problem is accentuated by the way the rooms of this resort are constructed.

There is no air conditioning in the rooms. So even when it is 23 – 25 degrees C outside, inside the room it is much hotter and almost like an oven.

You might consider opening the doors and windows to get some sort of natural ventilation in the room to cool things down. But the monkey menace ensures that you don’t dare take that risk.

The rooms at this location should have been equipped with Air Conditioning by the management. But I guess cost cutting took precedence over guest convenience and comfort.

Anywhere else in the developed world, such a place would not have been allowed to function OR sued many times for inhuman treatment of guests and making a fool of them.

But in India everything goes “Chalta Hai”

So, take my advice, if you must suffer the heat DO it in your own cities. Why travel such a long distance and then do it ?

Lastly on the cost of food front – IT IS SUPER EXPENSIVE.

This is supposed to be one of the marquee Club Mahindra resorts. From the outside, the place certainly doesn’t disappoint. It looks picture perfect, nestled on the side of a hill, with pretty cottages dotting the slopes, fronted by beautifully manicured grounds. The staff is courteous to a fault, and everything works as it should. The only downside is the interiors of the rooms.

We’d visited this property way back in 2011, when it was relatively new, and I had memories of a very tastefully made resort, with well-appointed, cozy rooms. I distinctly remember the cozy rugs that lined the floor, adding a lovely warmth to the rooms. Unfortunately, not anymore.

The rooms are downright rundown. All fixtures look dated, like they belong to an erstwhile ‘dak bungalow’. The lighting struggles to banish the night and the walls are in desperate need of a lick of some cheering paint. As for the flooring, for reasons best known to them, the management has banished anything that resembles a carpet or a rug, leaving bare, ugly tiles to greet you as you enter your living quarters. We’d booked a one-bedroom villa, with a nice balcony. The balcony though, wasn’t much use after dark. It only had a single, low-wattage bulb that added nothing to the ambience. If anything, lighting it up only made everything look even more dreary. Club Mahindra seriously needs to look at refurbishing the rooms. If I had to choose one word to describe them, it would regrettably be, PATHETIC. Given the steep membership fee they charge, upkeep of the rooms is basic hygiene that they need to maintain.

Other than that, like I mentioned, the staff are very courteous. The food is as good as one expects it to be, and everything works like clockwork. No complaints on that front. If you can get over the disappointing rooms, it’s not a bad property. Is it good value for money? Probably not.

We had a great stay at Club Mahindra Valley, this is a small but beautiful resort nestled amidst the Binsar valley with some serene views from the rooms. The rooms were large, old style and comfortable just the way we like it. Only the shower water pressure was low. Room service was impeccable and near perfect. The in house restaurant with a lovely name 'Birdsong', served delicious food. It was pricey, but service was rendered with a smile and with love and grace.
There is one small restaurant near, just above the resort, its menu was reasonable, but once they served us a very average chicken dish we ordered over the phone, priced higher than Mahindra! Order from their menu.
Laundry service at the resort is efficient and clean..
We didn't avail of the in house activities as we went in the mid season, the resort was quiet except for a weekend. Can't go out of the resort after sunset on foot, because of the prevalence of leopards due it being a forested area.
We hired a vehicle and went out a few times, this is an absolutely gorgeous state with some stunning scenery and many ancient temples. Kasar Devi temple where Swami Vivekanand stayed is beautiful, esp at sunset. The Jageshwar temples are worth a visit, we visited a day after PM Modi's visit and there was an air of festivity around the place. Surya Katarmal temple was divine, there's a 200m uphill walk to reach the temple.
We went to Kausani, ate great food at the Mystic Mountain resort. The woollen factory is worth a visit. Ranikhet is a cantt area, nothing much to see except the drive up there. Ate at Sun and snow restaurant on the way, the food was delicious. There's Chaubatia fruit gardens, but it was barren off season, but got some good valley pics.
Almora town is very crowded mostly around the mall road, but its worth a walk around just to get a feel of the place. We visited the local zoo and saw some leopards in captivity as well as a large number of deer of different kinds.Dined at quaint Mohan's cafe near Almora town, which served some yum food amidst lovely views and settings. Binsar Wild life sanctuary,is about 10kms from the resort. Its a nice place with some beautiful views. Had to drive up to a certain point and then go by foot to reach Zero Point. The drive is very bumpy on a narrow road, the govt must repair this road to the lovely sanctuary. We reached around 11am and were able to see the view of the snow Himalayas. It is an hour's uphill climb to Zero point, can go slow if needed. Didn't encounter any wildlife or birds. The official guide was a knowledgeable person.
All in all a great stay at Binsar. thank you Club Mahindra..
