My sister's wedding was vanued here. We had such a great experience, staff was friendly and helpful, the facilities were good and rooms are clean and have enough space. They also provide two rooms in urgent when we asked for it. Great hotel if you want zero interference from staff. Room service was also too good. If you are planning for a trip on Allahabad then this is a good choice for you.

A walk to the near by church (100 mts) is a good experience
Vehicle parking is provided

Food quality is not upto mark
Rooms are not well maintained
They find is hard to change even the towels everyday

Final verdict :

Stay only if you get a deal at Rs 2000
Else avoid this place

I booked this hotel for 2 nights thru go ibibo based on the images and trust rating and checked-in with my Wife. However, to my deep disappointment it is not even iota worth its tarriff. One of the worst room furnishing, with low quality cleanliness, hardly any amenities, untrained staff, no lift, no security. The most important thing, they dont have any restaurant or dining area. All is room service, which has an average time of not less then 40-45 mins, and all you get is average food which turns cold by the time it is delivered. I returned most of the breakfast items on both days still had to pay for all in the bill.
When going to allahbad, please prefer hotels lyk Kanha shyam or milan etc.

We would like to first of all thank you for having taken time out to write a review for us. We are very sad though that your stay with us did not live upto your expectations. For the benefit of our other guests though I would like to clarify some points. 1. You booked though Goibibo.com choosing the Room Only Rate ( Without Breakfast ) this was clear in your booking voucher as well, but still you wanted breakfast to be complementary. After having ordered breakfast and then finding out that it is chargeable extra you returned some already cooked items. As a goodwill gesture we did not charge for the same which you can check from your bill. 2. Our Rooms are exactly as shown in the images online and if you have taken pictures during your stay then they can be compared to ones online. 3. Our Hotel Rooms are furnished in heritage style with Victorian era Burma teak wood doors and bed etc which today cannot be procured for any cost. 4. The Room category in which you stayed had all the modern amenities like LCD , Telephone, Refrigerator , Toiletries , Tea / Coffee Maker, Electronic Safe etc. The list is clearly mentioned on our website. 5. We take pride on the cleanliness standards in our property and if there was any issue you could have pointed it out during your stay and we would have been very happy to help. 6. Our hotel rooms are located on the ground and 1st Floor only and if you would have told us that you have a problem climbing stairs then we would have very happily provided a room on the ground floor. 7. We have 24 hrs armed security guards as well as other staff so we do not understand the problem of security which you faced. We would though really like to welcome you again so that we can change your opinion about Hotel Harsh Ananda and Allahabad City as well. Regards

We stayed in the hotel during the 2013 Khumb Mela, so room prices were ridiculous (over US dollars 200 per night) for the standard of the hotel (no better than a european 2 star). The rooms were quite spacious, but cleanliness is not a word that must be known to the hotel's staff. All meals were included in the package, fodd was definetly average but at least we did not get sick! Unfortunately there is not much hotel choice in Allahâbâd during the Mela, so you have to pay and thank that you have a room!

Went in August '14 to get my son admitted to MNNIT and stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. Allahabad does not have opulent hotels yet like Delhi, Mumbai and other metros although this may change in a few years when it transforms into a 'smart city' with American collaboration. Went into this hotel without a booking and without any pre-conceived plan. Turned out to be a great decision. Its in a restored heritage building dating back to the British times. The lawns are well kept, give the hotel an open, easy feel and seem to be a big draw for weddings in the city (may become noisy during wedding season). Since Aug. was lean, got upgraded to a super deluxe room which was adequate in size and had a small window (a luxury in Allahabad hotels at this price point). Room came with an independent split AC which worked fine. The room, bathroom and the common and lounge areas were spotless clean. Hotel is tastefully decorated for this price point and brings out the old and the modern in a nice and pleasing way. WiFi is free but painfully slow. No cafe/restaurant, only room service with limited menu but good options to eat are available in the neighborhood. Will recommend this place for a short stay; good value for money, clean, and centrally located.

The hotel blends marvellously with the spirit of Allahabad city. It takes you back to what Allahabad once was, a grand city full of magnificent British-era bungalows. The property itself is a heritage bungalow and has now been fabulously re-done after intervention of the Ananda group. It has very few rooms, I think around 10-15 max. The wing we stayed in was on the ground floor with 2 rooms on each side of a short lobby and a suite at the end. The suites have lot of extra space but the normal deluxe rooms also are quite comfortable. Furnishings and provisions are neat and pretty tidy. There are huge lawns outside to enjoy the evening breeze or bask in the sun in winters. The staff accommodates all kinds of requests and is very prompt. Just tip them well and they will do just about anything for you. No distractions, no noise, no nonsense!
Location is the most awesome ever, just 5 minutes from railway station and civil lines. Just 10 minutes from the bus stand.
I don't think one should stay anywhere else if you have the budget. Hard nosed people who don't value peace very much might see it over-priced; I did not. Perfect!

I was travelling by Road from Patna to Delhi with my wife and 2 kids( age 4 & 1)and was looking for an overnight stay in Allahabad. On enquiring, I came to know that due to PCS exams all hotels were booked.
I searched frantically as it was late night and I wanted a safe place for my family. Came to #HotelHarshAnand, at around midnight and I was confirmed that I can have a room which is under renovation.
Since I was in need for just 4-5 hours stay, I agreed and put everybody in room after paying the agreed amount.
While everybody was resting, the manager ringed the bell saying that the General Manager (GM) has already confirmed the room to someone else and I need to vacate. I was shocked to hear the Greedy nature of GM who gave room to someone paying higher amount as there was crisis of rooms. I was asked to leave the room and the manager said that they have made arrangements for us in another hotel. It was already 1:30 AM. On reaching the said hotel, I was informed that there is no room. So basically I was cheated, just to get the room vacated and all because of the Greedy GM, who didn't even took cognizance that I was traveling with small Kids.

I ultimately got a room by around 4:00AM by paying much higher price as every hotel was minting money by taking undue advantage of the situation.

This was my first stay here and I inform everyone to stay away from this hotel.
It's one of the most pathetic and latahargic hotel and the GM needs a big lesson in customer service.

Dear Sir, We are extremely sorry for the problem that you had to face but certain facts need to clarified. The room that was given to you was already allocated for a group of senior citizens travelling from south india at a price much lower than what you offered to pay. (we can email you their bills if you want) The staff on duty by mistake checked you into that room while the manager had gone out to look for more rooms as the group og senior citizens required more rooms and we did not have any left. For us it is never about the price and minting money from our customers but its important to honour our commitments. Since the other members of the other group were already occupying 15 rooms we could not send one of them to another hotel. At the time when the GM got to know (15 mins after you checked in) the staff who by mistake checked you into an already allotted room, was asked to go with you and find a suitable hotel for you by all means. We totally agree that you had to face great inconvenience because of an error from the on duty staff and specially with small children but what you have stated about the hotel being 'cheaters' in a public forum is highly objectionable and totally opposite to the facts. We hope that you would give Hotel Harsh Ananda another chance and request you to email us when ever you are coming to the city and we will try our best to provide you a very comfortable stay

We found this due to its proximity to the train station. The hotel is nice but extremely overpriced. Providing you can get a discount it is good for the night. Highlight- lots of TV channels we have not found at other hotels. Main downside- no restaurant, only room service.
