Detailed Reviews
Silver sand resort is located very near to Mahabalipuram , the property is exactly located before Mamalla Beach resort. There are less than 15 rooms only , so it would make it a peaceful stay as there won't be too many people at a time in the resort. All rooms are hut type and size varies . We had taken two rooms which was opposite to each other with a good verandah space available between them . There is only one room of this type . I would recommend to ask for this room type if you are family of 4 - 6 and would take two rooms. Rooms were big enough . Better ventilation can be planned for the bathroom alone.
Highlight of the resort is the swimming pool facing the sea well maintained and the private beach (there would be people from neighboring properties ) but still it would still be your private space to enjoy in the beach.
The activity area and playing area is not maintained well , some maintenance can be done in this case. Only vegetarian food is available in resort , the quality and quantity of food was very good , price was on higher end , but still worth it. Considering Mamalla beach resort is only 2-3 mins if you walk through the beach, you can plan for breakfast or other food there as well if you want to try some variety or you prefer to have non vegetarian.
Overall staff service was also very good . Not sure why but the resort usually does not show up for booking in make my trip and others. Will advise them to call them direct for booking

This review is completely based on my experince for a night at Silversands. I visted this place for my birthday with a couple of friends. We had booked two rooms. The place is huge, with a private beach, swimming pool and indoor games. The rooms were decent and spacious. There is a list of things that's kept in the fridge and everything is over priced and unbelievable.
The best part of our experience was the pool and the indoor games. We spent our entire time here. Food was okay nothing great but definitely over priced for the quality. There are no shops near to grab anything in case you wish to also.
Hardly any staff. One security, and cleaner and one guy named GOPALA KRISHNAN who is in charge of everything. Horrible staff. This guy who is said to be then in charge was drunk when he came to our room to collect money for the food.It was so uncomfortable for the girls. He is such a cheap dog. Please be careful if you ever visit this place.
The next day morning we were leaving and had to pay.We finished calculating the cost and counting the money atleast 10 times to make sure we would face any issues at the counter. We handed over the cash to the in charge Gopal. We were very sure weren't going to tip him. He counted the money in front of us and said yes everything of fine. After we started talking to the car, this guy has the guts to put two 100 rupees notes into his pocket and told us that the money was short. Worst management. I hope the owner looks into this and kicks him out. This place doesn't even give COMPUTERIZED BILLS. All the bills come in one small piece of paper.
I would never ever go back to this place. Horrible experience.

The place is not worth the money. Not sea facing as mentioned online. Poorly maintained room and no proper services. Food availability is very limited. And they themselves suggest to order food from outside. Apart from the private beach available along the property nothing else is worth the money paid for the room.

My husband and myself went to this place on our anniversary for one night. At the very beginning the reception , a small hut (only) puts you off. Apart from directing us to our rooms , there was no much hospitality from the managers end in the resort.
The room was decent sized and was clean but not worth 3000+ for a night. Not even one bottle of water was provided complimentary. They didnt even have complimentary bfast. on top of it they didnt even serve non veg during the night. :(
pros' - very close to mahabs, access to private beach from resort, food made only on order. Not much crowd so u can relax.
Cons : over priced for the facilities provided.food is very expensive. no activities inside resort.
Overall not recommended unless u dont find a booking elsewhere. :)

Few Pros Cons of this place:
Pros:
a) Size of the room is good enough to accommodate an extra bed.
b) Private Beach
Cons:
a) Poor management
b) No hot water.
c) Poor hygiene of the kitchen
d) Breakfast was just okay
Overall, not worth the money as both the hotel and food in restaurant rates are very high.
There are many good places to stay and eat in town

I had been to silver sands resort with my family of around 20 of us , there was slight doubt and anxiety about the place since we came to know abt only through web , but the resort has everything one needs for a perfect holiday , starting from beach to pool to billiards to wall climbing to etc , the rooms are spacious with clean bathrooms !! , the hospitality offered by the management was great , only critics would be pricing on lunch and diner ,bit expensive except that no other issues ivolved.
we loved it silver sands , thanks a lot for making it memorable .

My husband and i selected Silver Sands to stay because of its proximity to Mahabalipuram. We were offered the standard villa. On the plus side, the room was spacious and neat, and so was the bathroom and the staff were courteous. However at Rs. 3500 a night, the resort had nothing else to offer besides the room and the beach. We had assumed there was a swimming pool based on the reviews but apparently it comes only with the garden villa and other guests are not allows use of it. Since the garden villa was being occupied only the following day, when we were leaving, we asked if we could use the pool for an hour or two but was refused. Except for beach volleyball/frisbee/darts, all other adventure sports are chargeable. The pool tables are chargeable. I'm afraid we expected a bit more for the buffet breakfast than idli vada and pongal and coffee given the room rate.
In all, the resort was certainly not worth the money and i would not recommend staying there. It might be okay for day trips but otherwise it is a total rip-off. Very disappointing stay.

The property is big but not well maintained. The rooms gave a stinky kind of feeling and I don't know why bathrooms were so big. In any case, not worth the money they charge. Food was not at all good but the charges were mind blowing. Staff was quite friendly. They accept credit card but there is no computerized billing. Hand written bills were provided.
Okay place to stay is they reduce the rates by 1/3.

I am yeshwanth from Chennai. I would definitely have to say that this place is worth for families. me and my wife stayed there to celebrate my birthday and have to say had been the best experience ever for the money. expecting any more in beach resort would be too much to ask for. The place is very much isolated with calm surroundings. the mattress and the rest room were all great. every room is equipped with a fridge, lcd tv with Tata sky. wish to go back there soon.
