We stayed in this hotel as family for 2 nights. It's a good hotel with very good view of Kanchanjungha from room. Early morning sunrise and golden glow of mountain peak by sitting in your bed is just what you look for while in Pelling. Service is also quite good, specially manager Udhesho who is very prompt in responding all the queries and providing support. Food quality is average that need improvement. Balcony needs better cleaning so that guests can spend time there (some cobwebs here and there seen). Though they are one of the big hotels over there, they should take credit card. As this was not communicated to us while booking, we were not prepared with cash and faced challenge. Sales office need better client communication. They do not respond to mails also on time. More professionalism is required while handling customers.

While booking one can reach out to the hotel and thats it. The hotel manager -guess owner Deepen becomes family and is always available on phone for any advice/suggestions etc. The hotel is actually a view point where you can see the Kanchenjunga from your room..yes true...there is an uninterrupted view of the valley and the mighty Himalayas beyond that
The restaurant is on the 4th floor or so..its on the terrace so you can enjoy the Kanchenjunga while sipping a piping hot tea/coffee. The hotel staff is very courteous all the boys - ever smiling and going the extra mile to help you with any demand

This is however not like a run of the mill hotel that people from the metros might be used to..the bathrooms are clean but not very modern. You need to carry toiletries as hotel does not provide. However there is a provision and general store in the hotel's ground floor.Room is of decent size but again not like the 2,3 stars you might be used to.Breakfast you do not get much choices and quantity is also limited. Lunch and dinner takes time but then the food is always fresh and very tasty. Its like one of those typical mountain hotels not grand but one that people will go again and again for the view and the smiling bunch of hotel staff who are there to help you at any cost. Since there is no lifts if you have aged people then you might want to avoid
Finally if you love the mountains and ready to compromise a little on the hotel quality just go for this hotel as all said and done the view you have from here you will not get anywhere else in Pelling

We had a one night stay in Pelling, and had booked 2 rooms here. We reached almost at around 8 p.m. in the night. The hotel is located almost at the end of Lower Pelling, and it felt like we were almost out of the inhabited area, while reaching there. There are just 2 rooms on each floor, and were on the third one. It is run by a bunch of lads, who are ever willing to help you out. The food order had to be placed around half an hour in advance, because everything is prepared to order.

Pros:
1. VIEW! The major pro you get to take advantage of, is the unobstructed view of Kanchenjunga. Get up at 4-4.30a.m., slide the window open, and you are done!
2. Hot Water: A necessity, they have geysers supplying hot water at a moment's notice.
3. Affordable: The 2 rooms for the night cost us 4.5k or so, considering this was the peak season.
4. TV: With the set-top box, of course.
5. Basic Toiletries and towels provided.

Cons:
1. Insects: If your window ain't closed when it's dark, you may be inviting some insects over.
2. Food: It is not bad, it is just very basic. 1 veg curry, 1 non veg curry, chapatis, morning tea and toast cost us around 500.

That is pretty much it! :)

Hotel is a prime location to enjoy the valley and staff is very passionate, however, the condition of the rooms is not exactly pristine. WiFi works better in second floor in building as router is placed on the kitchen/dinning area. Room Service was hit or miss in terms of food, which is not a concerns as hotel is close to lot of restaurants in Lower Pelling road.

Location is just perfect. The sun kissed mornings will wake you up to the serenity of Kanchendzonga. Rooms are clean and the staff are very friendly. There were some flaws in the service. But trust me, the view makes you forget all of that.

It is impossible to capture the beauty of the mountain using a camera. This picture was clicked from the Hotel.

Best Place to stay in Pelling.

We were 2 couples and booked the super deluxe rooms.
To our surprise there were no showers but just buckets to wash ourselves.
When we highlighted this to the manager that it does not mention in the Agoda website the lack of shower, he told us that all hotels in Pelling were the same.
A total lie as we viewed 6 other hotels afterwards and even the more basic had a shower.

There was no heating in the room and manager told us he could provide for an extra 500rps. (Again a super deluxe room!)

There were no bedsheets, just the bottom one and the blanket on top.

The hotel was dirty in common areas- see photos.

Next to our room, there was a huge gap full of clutter, this should be blocked as it is extremely dangerous.

We refused to stay there and are claiming out money back from Agoda. Manager denies all claims.

Response from Depen D, Owner at Hotel Valley View Pelling

Thank you for your valuable feedback. Actually I had told you that some hotel don't have shower not all the hotels. No one had asked us for the shower before. About the heater, almost all the hotel does not provide heater unless a guest request for it. I had told you that we charge rs 300 per nite for a heater not 500 as it consumes a lot of electricity. The heater charge was not included in your room tariff but In the end I had agreed to provided you a heater on a complimentary basis. I think you misunderstood. About the bed sheet part we provide a top-sheet when a guest request for it. I had even told you that I will provide you a top sheet. When you arrived my staff were cleaning the common area and had piled the trash in one place and were about to collect it but got busy to attend you. The huge gape is an incomplete room which is still under construction. As you refuse to stay with us we had refunded you money as our cancellation policy. You can check with Agoda for your refund, as takes some time for refund. We had taken all your feedback positively and we are under the process of installing showers.

Room size and amenities are upto the mark. Added advantage is view of Kanchanjangha from each room. This hotel have two sides old and new, Prefered to stay at new rooms, these are bigger in size and with wooden floors. Service was satisfactory. Room heater is available against additional payment. Mountain view from Dining of this Hotel is awesome. We stayed there 2 ngts, overall experience was pleasant while visiting there on last wk of Dec, 2015. We stayed there in a new room.
