We left the best stay for our last day in Sikkim, this place was so soothing that we were half convinced to give Pelling a skip and spend our day in the luscious lawn of the property looking at the might mountains straight infront of us. Our hosts were gracious from the get go and gave us their full attention. From welcome drinks to tea snacks and authentic Sikkimese dinner spread, and topped it all with "Chang" (local Millet drink). Mr. Tshering gave us a tour of their vast property where they grow their own tea and other local vegetations like Squash which they served us for dinner. This sublime hospitality made us reconsider delaying our flights and staying another day. But alas we left after only 1 day with a promise to revisit soon.
The place is a heaven for nature lovers. Surrounded by lush green forests, it has a warm and rustic feel while providing a very comfortable stay. The rooms were equipped with all basic amenities and were clean. The rooms and the lawn all face the mountains - wake up early to see the sun rays on the peaks of Kanchenjunga show it in all its majestic splendour. What makes it even better is the amazing warmth and hospitality from the host family. The food was tasty and our requests of food preferences were accommodated. As we travelled with a child, we were delighted the children in the Homestay kept her company. The place also has many animals, ample opportunities for exploring the gardens. The hosts were very generous in spending time to take us around all the while explaining us the history and culture of the place.…
If you plan to witness the graciousness and kindness of Sikkimese culture, this is the place to be. Our host left no stones unturned to make our stay comfortable. Right from the welcome tea to a group of tired tourists to a heartfelt dinner of home cooked delicacies topping it off with a generous send off in the traditional way with the elements to protect us on our journey. There was an ambient kindness in the air which made the last day of our trip a most memorable one. The homestay has the perfect setting with a picturesque view of the Himalaayas and a clear blue sky to gaze at, lying in the green lawn. It appears to be a page out of a children's book and takes us back to the carefree days. If you plan to take a break from the hustle and bustle and wish to explore the amazing Pelling, you should not go further in your search for the perfect place to stay. Experience the warmth of Sikkimese culture amidst the cool breeze coming from the Kanchenjunga.…
It is the best place to stay in pelling, Sikkim. Stayed here with my partner for 3 nights and each day was an absolute delight. Mr Tshering and Mr Bhutia makes sure that you get the best experience in terms of food, stay, sharing knowledge and history above their culture, religion and heritage. You can never experience the true Sikkim culture if you end up staying in one of those hotels in Pelling. Highly recommended!
With a perfect view and comfortable homestay experience, this is the best place to stay when visiting Pelling, Sikkim. Also, they have amazing hospitality and fresh home-cooked foods are delicious!!!!
Just like some of my other experiences in homestays in Sikkim I was blown away by how I felt like I had come to visit family. This was the last leg of my solo trip in Sikkim and I couldn't have asked for a better setting. The farm is situated just off of Pelling, and has a window that looks straight at the mountains, if you're lucky Kanchenjunga will peak out at you from behind the clouds. The view is enormous - you have to go there to get what I mean :). NT is an amazing host, he has lots of stories is an avid bird watcher and loves to trek. I also went with the whole family to visit some of the local sights which was one of the highlights of my trip :) Go there for a day or go there for a week, you're bound to leave happier, lighter and more at peace with yourself and the world.…
The lodge is remotely located from Pelling and therefore, it was very quiet and serene. The property has a fantastic view of Kanchenjunga. Where it really excelled was the genuinely warm hospitality of the host family. They took every little care to ensure the guests were enjoying their stay. We had Tshering, Mr Bhutia's nephew looking after us and he even took the other couple for a whole day trek without charging anything extra. We had dinner and breakfast at the lodge. Food was very yummy and the vegetables came from their garden. They are very proud of their lovely little lodge and of the town they live in and they genuinely wanted to share the beautiful experience with the guests.
Fantastic attentive host, opened his farm up to us like we were family. Knowledgeable and passionate about his home town, took us on trips and catered to our tastes. We couldn't have asked for a better host, or a better guide to this beautiful part of Sikkim. Thank you so much! Ps: Thank you also for your delicious home grown tea, we all loved it!
The location is peaceful and serene. The view of the Kanchenjunga falls from the property and the rooms are amazing. We were there only for 1 night. Our host family, Mr. Bhutia was extremely kind and hospitable. He took the time to show us around the property, explaining the local flora and fauna and the Buddhist culture. We ate dinner and breakfast which was freshly prepared and delicious. We wished we had more time to spend at the location and with the host family. Everybody speaks immaculate English.
This was the highlight of our two week trip through India. In fact, the hospitality of the host was simply unparalleled in any country I have visited (and I've been to quite a few in the past couple of years. The room we stayed in looked out over kangchenjunga, which glowed red at dawn. The room was beautifully clean and smelt wonderfully of pine. It had a balcony that overlooked the mountains- difficult to think of a more tranquil setting. The food was delicious, as was the local Chang. Our host took time out of his stay to show us the local monastery which his father had built. If you are going to west Sikkim I cannot think of a more wonderful place to stay.
