Stayed in Hotel Simvo for one day. This place was decent with Television, hot water, private balcony etc. We had dinner here and taste was average. Bathrooms were not that clean and if they maintain this place properly then this can be one of the best stay place in Pelling. Hotel staff was very kind and courteous. They provided hot drinking water, extra towels and blankets on request. The best part of this hotel is its location. One can view beautiful Kanchenjunga mountain range and its mesmerizing. As I mentioned each rooms had private balcony with armchairs. Having morning coffee with this beautiful view will be heaven.
We had a room with an enormous balcony so the view would have been excellent if the weather had been better. The room was large but cramped with too much furniture. The bathroom was adequate. Window was stuck up with paper. The corridor and restaurant were not clean especially the tables . Breakfast took a long time but was adequate . The location was good near a footpath to Lower Pelling and convenient for the shops of Upper Pelling .
Pros: Good view from balcony and room. Cons: # Very small room # Bathroom is not good # Beds are not maintained # Mattress are of bellow quality # Entrance is shabby. Have to go down stairs [30 stair approx] from road. # Lodge type atmosphere. # Foods are avg.
Hotel was at its best place of pelling it's on upper pelling and best view of mt kachunzanga from gallery, good staff but food was average but they have very good property to improve and make them like 5 star hotel
Room 604 is perhaps the best room with a picturesque and heavenly view of Kanchenjunga, and the valley in between. It's too good. People are exceedingly hospitable. The manager Abhijit is a very caring and warm person who has a solution for every possible problem. The food part is rather poor and non-commensurate with the rest of the experience. Bit keeping in mind the remoteness of the location (7 hours by road from siliguri) and the cost they offer, it is acceptable but with a pinch of salt. One must try freshly cooked rice, dal, egg omelette for being on the safe side. Fish comes from Gezing and you cannot expect it to be fresh. The verandah has a garden umbrella and it overlooks the valley. It's simply great and is inescapably tempting.
