Loved the place and the Manager was super nice. He took care that we were comfortable throughout our stay. Inspite of Hotel rooms being completely booked he made sure we had the best stay. The rooms were clean and well maintained.

We got this hotel through our tour operator. Its well managed. Courteous staff, always ready to help. Just one negative point, that you should avoid taking food here, as the kitchen is not so hygienic and food /breakfast is not good in taste. Restaurant is having very dim lights. Little problem of electricity cut off. amazing!!! they have a genset outside hotel, but they don't use it. Hotel rooms/amenities , interior are very good. Again , the staff (young boys) are very courteous and helpful. Also , very nice view from hotel.

To TripAdvisor: why can't there be a zero rating? Those who are considering this property, here are the details of the ordeal. Well in few words, relieved to have checked out today after two nights stay. Rooms are 'once upon a time and forgotten'. To me it was Decay to be seen but surely not experienced. Me and my family were unfortunate - we experienced it. Bathrooms are there. Geyser is there. But expect droplets when you go to relieve yourself. Moths make the basin their suicide destination. Hotel gives those tiny soaps - bigger than the tablets and small enough to do a Houdini trick. Towels are there. Period. Dont ask anything more. No napkins. Had to ask for soap tablets since only one was given per room. Was assured of breakfast and dinner. Lo and behold seldom did we realize that we will have to assure ourselves that it is edible. First night the dal was nothing but remnant of few lentils in pot full of water. Being vegetarian our choice was limited - immodestly - it was heart breaking and gut wrenching. In one way these guys make you go on diet without you realizing it and that too after paying them and you expecting a banquet. Maybe me and my family dreamt too much. But then the experience was repeated the second day. Albeit the second day there was marginal improvement due to the voiceforous complaints that we did. Breakfast was anytime better - in comparison to the dinner. Bread Zindabad. Rest was not even a visual delight; forget the taste buds. Today morning got saved by slice of banana and watermelon. In short it's a paradise for people on diet. Rooms are modest. Our two rooms did oversee the mountain range. Chairs are not there. There are stools - don't take me wrongly. TV is there and it's a miracle that they did work after calling for help. Electronics engineering students can very well see the concepts of tv in action. Bed linen had stains and one of the pillows was villanous in appearance - blackish. There were few critters but I believe we were unfortunate. Ambience, when done was done with traditional taste. But I believe nobody has thereafter turned for their upkeep. Staff is good. Consists of young guys / students. Very polite but then if management is wrong then the staff doesn't count. I infer that the management is cutting corners at our costs. Me and my family have gone through it. But surely I am going to pull up my travel coordinator for good. Better to be safe than sorry. I am in a sorry state. What about you?

My short trip to pelling started from Darjelling at 10am on 21 oct 2015 on Xylo . 6 familiy member including my in laws of 77+.. Road after the Darjeeling Zoo is quite narrow and broken in few stretches. But with xylo , no problem. try to take Xylo, innova, or SUV. Tata sumo is not comfortable. Temp is normal in day. slightly more cold in night around 10 deg Cnt. climate shoothing. . its 75 km . on the way we have seen Jamuney, pasupati nepal border if you plan to purchase it take 2 hrs; we had small lunch at Reshi. during jounrney Fantastic tea gardens, (goodriche) , road side river , small streams coming down, full of flora and fauna. Reached pelling at 3pm. Stayed in 4 & 5 . Welcome by hotel staff, specially By Mr Vijay , manger hailing from Midnapore. we got into room 4 and 5 . bed and breakfast as we booked. if you book in prior , a discount also can be negotiated as applicable. This hotel is beautifully decorated, belongs to Mr Yongda nephew of Film artist Danny (as heard ) . Total around 8 Floor. Fantastic mountain view in the early morning with black darjeeling tea , the great kanchenjunga unfolding its color. Lots of peak around. Oh pelling and hotel phamrong.(tusi great ho!!!) Rooms are cosy, cottage type with cane wall covering, wooden floor, geyser, all room service available. excellent hospitality . Wonderful dining place in the ground floor. the location of hotel is at zero point . helipad at 1km up. further up is the sangacholing monastery. with strong walking foot one can manage. 0n 22 oct we set out for Yoksam , earlier capital of sikkim in a brand new xylo, thanks to Vijay , . he can manage anything as requested. Tour may please be started at the earliest by 8 am . On the way the first is darap , then one by one - rimbi water falls , kanchenjungha water falls, yoksam helipad, dubdi monastery, (lunch inbetween at yoksam) , in return journey Kathog lake, Khechupalri lake, by the time it is almost 4 pm. on 22 oct we visited ranbdentse ruins , small trekking through dense jungle, birds , sudden rain made it more enjoyable. Left pelling by 10 am for NJP . on the way a short halt in Kirateswar Mandir and wet your foot in river rangeet, makes your journey a memorable one.

I stayed here at Hotel Phamrong with my family. Hotel Phamrong is located tactically at upper Pelling, just opposite to SBI ATM . Look of mount Kanchenjunga for view rooms as they provide great view of the mountain range. The manager was very cooperative and provided good services. The sun rise from the hotel room was mesmerizing. One can also go to the terrace and enjoy the beauty of the mountain range.
