We were the first foreigners to come back in kabu hotel after the pandemy . The owner Deepesh has renovated all rooms and we had a vey nice clean big room with a large bed and very nice bathroom with shower and hot water . We also had an electric mattress which was really appreciated because temperatures in February are low! Very nice view on mountains from the room . Deepesh and his family is very kind and invited us for the meals in his house near the fire place . We had delicious meals . Deepesh provided us with a lot of advices for trekking and we had a wonderful monastery trek guided by his nephew . We definitely recommand Kabu Hotel in Pelling with family welcome very friendly. Our last stoppage in Sikkim was Pelling, West Sikkim, and we decided to stay at Hotel Kabur, in the Upper Pelling. Tanay, the host was very welcoming and learning about his background and how decided to leave the city life and live in the calm and peace of mountains was somewhere hard to fathom. He helped us with the overall exploration experience of Pelling by mapping out the places to go especially the Rani Dunga hike which was the highlight of our whole trip. Talking about Hotel Kabur, the best hotel we stayed in during our trip, with utmost cleanliness in the room ( which we had complaints in other hotels we stayed in), and had the most comfortable sleep and the view from the room was surreal in every sense. As Tanay mentioned that the Kanchenjunga range is visible from the restaurant, we waited for 2 days as it was all cloudy but finally, on our last evening, we had the most beautiful view of the mountains which seemed to be so near yet so far. Tanay was always helpful in making the arrangements for the transport, suggesting the food combinations and just a call away for anything required. All in all, it was the best stay and the last leg of our trip.

Arrived in Pelling and I stumbled across Hotel Kabur and met the owner Deepesh. I had wanted to go trekking in Sikkim but did not think it would happen due to the time of year. Deepesh told me about a 5 day trek happening and I booked it immediately. Later when I had an issue with money, i had already given Deepesh all my money but there was no cash in the ATM in Pelling and no cash in ATM in the nearby town (bring $$$). I told Deepesh that I didn’t have any money. He gave me all my money back and paid for my my trek, he said, in what I later discovered was a very Sikkim attitude, “pay me after”. I found this relaxed attitude all over Sikkim and Deepesh and his all his staff exemplified this. Cannot thank Deepesh enough. Top fella.
