A beautiful heritage property of The Elgin Group. We stayed at the premium rooms which are new and wonderful, it requires a walk down from the main building where the lounge and restaurant are, which was pretty refreshing for us. The views of the Kanchenjunga mountain range is a treat not to be missed.

This is a really lovely hotel. It’s positioned up on the hill with fantastic views over Kanchenjunga. The gardens are also very pretty. The drink on arrival was very welcome. We had dinner and breakfast which was good as it would not be easy to walk elsewhere. There was a good range of food for all tastes. Our room was very comfortable with a fabulous view of the mountains. All the team were friendly and polite.

Location wise best place to stay.staffs are very cordial .food was superb.very cosy stay. Need to work on snakes and spiders, we witnessed both. For new blocks built food should be provided there only because sometimes it’s very inconvenient to come in the main block to have lunch or dinner…

Me and my sister went to explore Sikkim last month and staying at The The Elgin Mount Pandim was one of the best decisions we have ever made together. A ten minutes walk from the Pemyangtse Monastery, this property is undoubtedly the most picturesque heritage resort in Pelling offering the most captivating views of the majestic Mount Kanchenjunga. Wrapped in flowers, birds and fog at a height of 21,952 ft above sea level, this property is truly an experience that I'll cherish for the rest of my life. Waking up at 6am to witness the golden rays of the sun falling on the snow capped Kangchenjunga turning the entire range yellow is a sight that you would want to experience atleast once in your lifetime. It's surreal to wake up to such a sight everyday on your trip. The staff was even very friendly and helpful. For me the highlight of the stay would be the two dogs Coco and Kara. They were so cute and friendly that leaving them left me heartbroken for days. The property itself is so huge and stunning that you wouldn't want to leave it at all. We could spot three waterfalls from our room and the feeling is totally magical and can't be expressed in words. The sky walk is just 15 mins from the property and all other attractions are close by including the bird sanctuary. I would totally it 5 stars or even more for the best hospitality, food and view. If you are going to West Sikkim anytime soon then this property should be in your bucket list.…

OMG! This place is awesome! Everything about it. Especially the house dogs Coco and Cara. Excellent view, fabulous room, cleanliness, decor etc. etc. Very nice staff. The Chef from Orissa was fantastic, with both Indian and continental cuisine. The restaurant staff were so very nice. Loved the experience. Will definitely go back.

It is the most beautiful property in pelling away from all the noises and hustle bustle , walking distance to Rabdantse ruins . Completely secluded. When you enter you are just in an aww of this place lovely traditional building , with 2 beautiful in-house dogs in their kennel. Courteous staff , reminds you of the bygone era . Beautiful manicured garden . We really enjoyed the high tea so much Loved everything about it . Would like to come back if given a chance .

The Room was really big and the bathroom also spacious. It has a very quaint victorian look in the rooms. So 5 stars: loved the room, loved the staff and the buffet breakfast and dinner but 3 stars I gave finally as we had some major issues which can be fixed easily: 1) The electricity kept flickering, going and coming back a lot. 2) No safe/locker in the room 3) The Internet was sooo bad and the signal also. 4) They need to have more space in the dining area, as we are a couple on a romantic break, with no kids, we were seated right next to a big family with lots of kids. It was a nightmare hearing the kids hollering away. 5) The cocktails were average. 6) No lifts 7) There should be a buggy to take you to the lobby, the spa and the dinning area. The walking on the slope, from the cottage to the dining area, will make you breathless. 8) We found some hair, left by the previous guest, in the bathroom sink. Also found some dust. Cleaning can be done more detailed. 9) Their Room Service is slow. …

We had booked the Premier Cottage Room which was big and beautifully furnished with a balcony which had clear views of the Kanchenjunga range. The bathroom was spacious but lacking in a few basic amenities…..there were no floor towels which were not provided even after requesting. There is no full length mirror. Despite there being two vanities, only one hand towel is provided and even that is not replaced every day. No glasses either. Room service is poor and the hotel is understaffed. There is no restaurant manager and service is very poor. We had to wait for 45 mts for rotis and in the meantime food got cold. Despite requesting to meet the chef for our dietary requirements, he was always too busy to meet or call. In our 3 days stay, there was no Hotel Manager. Only inefficient front office staff was available who were unable to address our concerns. Food is okay and not much variety in desserts. Staff is unhelpful. Property is very beautiful but there is no warmth and curtsey in the staff members. Electric vehicle should be provided to the Premier Rooms which are located downhill and it is a strenuous climb to the main wing and dining hall. Rooms should have black out curtains as halogens are pointing directly into the rooms causing sleep disturbance.…

Positive Points: - The food at The Elgin Mount Pandim is quite good, albeit with a limited selection. Guests can expect satisfying meals during their stay. - The hotel's laundry service is reliable, offering prompt and efficient assistance. - The room size is a bit small, which can make it difficult to move around. - The hotel provides good room service, and the staff is attentive. - The availability of hot water is generally acceptable, although it takes approximately 30 minutes for the water to heat up again after using 30 liters (sufficient for two people). - Each room is equipped with two umbrellas, which is highly appreciated. - The XL bed size comfortably accommodates two adults (5.10 ft) and a child under 3 years. - The view from the room window is exceptional and incredibly beautiful, showcasing the hotel's prime location. Negative Points: - The bathroom situation is extremely inconvenient, as guests are forced to use a small bathtub for bathing. This can be problematic for those traveling with children or elderly individuals, making it inadvisable to stay at this hotel in such cases. Same situation in other group hotel situated in Gangtok and Darjeeling as-well. - The cost of an extra bed is unreasonably high, with a charge of INR 5,500/- plus GST 18%, totaling INR 6,490/- per night. This pricing is excessive and unjustified. - Power problems are experienced due to the hotel's hillside location. - The curtains are ineffective at blocking sunlight as there is big gap between window and curtain, resulting in early morning brightness causing disturbance in sleep. - No fan is provided in the room. - The room windows are in poor condition, and the use of low-quality Velcro net to cover the openable windows does not effectively prevent insects from entering the room. - there are chances that dog(pet) will start barking at early morning and it will disturb or sleep. Overall, The Elgin Mount Pandim in Pelling has both positive and negative aspects. While the food, laundry service, room service, hot water facility, provision of umbrellas, XL bed size, and exceptional view from the room window are noteworthy positives, the issues with the bathroom, high cost of an extra bed, power problems, ineffective curtains, absence of a fan, and poor condition of room windows should be taken into consideration when deciding whether to stay at this hotel.…

We had a truly wonderful and memorable stay at the Elgin Mount Pandim Hotel. Our room, on the second floor in the totally charming historic building, was lovely, with fabulous views of the mountains in two directions. Food was good, service excellent. The grounds were particularly lovely with excellent views and wonderful birding. We have to find an excuse to go back!
