This is an interesting and different place to stay in. Everything was fine for us, (late February, so not cold). As others have said, the mud and straw theme is both interesting, and different. Service was good, prices more Western than Indian! We had a huge room, with a large lounge and large bathroom, and a four poster bed. We...

After two days in Delhi we arrived in Mandawa. As it was mid February it was still quite cold , especially at night. We stayed in one of the mud hut bungalows and we loved it. The design of the bungalow village is quirky with lovely little details. The bungalows are made in the traditional style of the desert people...

One may say "in the middle of nowhere" when one sees at first time. I keep coming here two to three times a year. Built in, I guess with Moroccan style of Kasbah theme. Although built with the bricks but plastered with a mixture of dung of animals, mud and straw. Then its painted by the lime by the local...

So first of all the negatives: we stayed in February 2013 and found the rooms absolutely freezing, particularly at night. I had to sleep with multiple layers of clothes on and was still freezing. They could also do with a clean; I understand this is India and it is dusty but the rooms were dirty and clearly never receive a...

Interesting!!!! Small villas, prettily decorated and made out of dried cow dung with a thatched roof, typical of the region.  Very interesting designs. However, they were not very comfortable and in February - cold, humid and non too clean.......we were not impressed. The towels were wet and after we complained the subsitute towels were also wet!!! We asked for a heater...

These individual huts are beautifully decorated. It does get cold at night, but just ask for a heater and more blankets. Sadly when we visited there was lots of rain, so we could wander round the resort, but it's very professionally run and the staff are very attentive.

Avoid the desert resort if you plan to visit in January. The hotel has no heating at all, even the bar and restaurant are freezing. The temperature in the room stayed below 10 and dropped to under 5 at night. they supplied an anemic electric heater that radiated about half a meter around and did not manage to raise the...

Staying at desert resort is combining cosy rooms with a superb service from all the staff around. This place is really a little haven of peace while traveling around Rajasthan. The morning tea while waking up was a great touch of hospitality !

The resort seems to service tour groups stopping for a night or two en route through Rajasthan. It's beautifully setup, with a combination of modern buildings and adobe-style mud huts, arranged around a series of gardens and public areas. The whole place is kept pristine clean and the staff are very helpful. There isn't much to do in Mandawa itself,...

In jan 2013, on our way back from castle mandawa, we wanted to just look around the place as we were already staying at club mahindra. So we went inside the desert resort. The snooty staff wanted to charge us even to enter! They were not hospitable at all. We had stayed at the desert resort earlier in 1996. Much...
