This was a quaint, rustic hotel in the middle of a rather rustic town. We weren't quite prepared for the padlock on the door after being in a 5 star hotel in Delhi. I opened up one of the windows to see a flock of pigeons and droppings to go with it. If this had been our last hotel we stayed at we probably would have rated it somewhat higher. They didn't charge for incoming long distance which was a plus. When we opted out of the dinner served in the garden in the evening, we received a call "What do you mean, you're not coming to dinner?" I don't think we had gotten over the mosquito warnings quite then!! Anyways, the hotel itself seemed quite pleasant but I don't think we were ready for it's rustic nature at that point in our travels.
The hotel itself is beautiful--the frescos on the walls, the garden dining, and the costumed staff all made for a great experience. The service was excellent, and the staff very friendly. The rooms were spacious, and although the furiture was a little run down, it was in a "shabby chic" sort of way. Overall a positive experience.
