From start to finish, this was an incredible visit to Mandawa with our stay in this charming, beautifully modernized Haveli a super start! While all the other havelis overpower you with their murals and courtyards, this exceptional Haveli takes you to levels of modern comfort that others can only dream of. The room we were shown from a selection was on the first floor, large, Art Deco painted walls, with traces of Rajasthan in old lamps, and old paintings of colors blending in with the walls. The gigantic bathroom was spic and span with a striking red color, arched recesses, great tub to relax and lie in warmth and ward off the cold winter. The breakfasts were sumptuous, all that we could hope for, with juices, fresh fruit, and absolutely splendid Spanish omelette, with brown toast, rich butter, honey and jam, downed with strong coffee! Not just a few cups but throughout the day! Virendra Chobdar, the host was a mine of information on havelis to visit, sights to see, antiques and miniature paintings to admire, selecting a multilingual guide who spoke six languages to steer us in the right direction, in whichever language we were comfortable in. Leaving was sweet sorrow, with promises to return, advising our family and friends to experience the unexpected joys of the Shekhavati area, at the comforting hospitality of this old and new best of two worlds haveli! We can only endorse the comments by many other reviewers. The place is a total delight. The owner and staff are quiet friendly discreet and gracious. They do everything without fuss and with efficiency. The Haveli is a treat to stay in and in our opinion much nicer as a residence than some of the other highly painted place in town. It is also small so there is no chance of a tour party coming in which is a real bonus! We had a meal both nights and though a bit more expensive than we usually paid on our months travel it is totally worth it for the charm of the dining experience. Can absolutely recommend this place.

This place deserves its good reviews. My room, bathroom and dining-area were all spotlessly clean, and thoroughly cleaned each day. All the staff (all male) were polite, friendly, courteous, clean and unfailingly helpful. Virendra has good English, and the others have enough. The haveli was quiet, and I slept well. Breakfasts and dinners were good. I had a vegetarian dinner each evening, and the dishes were different each day. A car and driver was arranged for me each day at a reasonable price, and was always on time. Rajasthan can be pretty cold in December and January, but I was given a good heater for my room, and another for the bathroom. Good WiFi. There are frequent power cuts, but the haveli has a generator.. Excellent value for money. Centrally placed in Shekhawati. Highly recommended.

Very nice stay in Mandawa at Chobdar Haveli. The place is beautiful and our room was splendorous! We have never stayed in a place like that so we were very happy with our room. The owner and staff are kind and nice, the cook is excellent and served us such a good dinner. We appreciated the hospitality of the haveli - thank you! We did a tour with a young local guide of Mandawa which I can only recommend! Thank you Chobdar haveli for great stay, we really enjoyed it !

I really can't thank Virender enough for our wonderful 3 night stay at his Haveli. He is a lovely person who has an excellent staff of Lal Singh whom does the cooking and Puss Singh who helps out with really anything you need. Puss Singh doesn't speak much English but I was able to communicate using a translator app. The look on his face when I used it with him was priceless. Lol. Virender and Lal Singh both speak English. They all always had a smile, asking if we need anything. All 3 are such sweethearts, it was a real pleasure to see them daily. The haveli was always clean inside and outside on the streets, they provided a heater as the nights were cold, the room very spacious and decorated in tasteful Rajhastani textiles. The breakfast was very nice and plentiful and if you wanted to eat dinner there just let them know a few hours ahead of time as there is no set menu so will cook what you like. I really enjoyed our time there and absolutely would stay there again if I ever went back to Mandawa.

small homely and treated like royal guests. The cook is excellent but being only 5 rooms they do not have a menu, instead let them know what you would like to eat and give them several hours notice. They will cook your choice including Rajistani favorites. Strict vegetarian only but you will not be disappointing with the food and personal waiter service. .They will organise local guides and places to visit.-all at reasonable prices. Best place to stay in Mandawa without doubt.

We enjoyed thoroughly our one-night stay at Chodbar Haveli. This heritage building has been very well restored. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable, with a huge bathroom. Everything is sparkly clean. We had dinner on site and enjoyed their Rajasthani thali. Breakfast was also tasty and served in the courtyard. Hoghly recommended!

We stayed here twice this year, once in January and loved the experience so much that we came back here for the second time. The hotel is situated in a very quiet area of the town with some of the most lovely painted havelis just around the corner from the hotel. This is an old haveli that has been converted into a heritage hotel. The haveli still retains all its character and charm. The interiors are tastefully done, enhancing the old world charm of the place. The property is very well maintained and spotlessly clean. It was a pleasure to enter the toilets that were spotlessly clean. Virender and his staff made our stay really welcome and comfortable. Lal Singh's cooking is excellent. Do ask him to prepare some of the local specialities for you while you are there. If you are lucky, you may meet the inmitable Arvind Sharma, who's knowledge fo the entire Shekhawati area is phenomenal! He took us on a tour of some of the loveliest painted rooms and havelis, some of which are known and open only to him. Do ask for him when you book your stay and if you are lucky, and he agrees to meet, you will have the best tour of this amazing region.

We stayed two nights. The room was extremely well decorated, I assume it was the blue room. We can call it a boutique hotel. Great breakfast and veg. thali for dinner. The staff is nice and attentive. In fine, we had a memorable stay.

My mother and I stayed here for 1 night on our drive between Jaipur and Bikaner. What a fantastic place to stay. It looked a bit unassuming from the outside, but once in the courtyard, we found this small haveli to be nothing short of spectacular. Our room was large and clean. The bathroom was huge. Extra blankets and a room heater were provided for the cold, winter night. There were great sitting areas around and a wonderful view from the rooftop. Breakfast was good. Although 'slightly' away from the main market area, Mandawa is so small, that it was no issue to walk wherever we wanted to go. We would definitely stay here again.
