Harlalka is a beautiful haveli but unfortunately, the new renovation creates a distinct lack of authenticity. Shiny, new paint and murals hide the original walls which is a shame. Howewver, love the original doors and window shutters, along with the floors. Our room is comfortable and relaxing overlooking the fascinating street below. Harlalka serves good food and the staff are attentive. Mandawa is a great place to visit. It's like going back in time.
The service and rooms etc was exceptional The waiter Shekhar who was serving us was extremely prompt informative and we are very pleased with his service and approach to answer our queries correctly after checking with the concerned people... We would like to put our appreciation for him on record Also the Chef was very forthcoming and prepared for us Chinese cuisine noodles rice and vegetables in very short notice, though it wasn't listed in the menu
Planned a 2 night trip to this magnificent and lively place with my family including my mother and mother in law (both aged 80+). When we reached the staff welcomed us guiding us for parking and with umbrellas as it was raining. Check in was done after allotting the rooms as per our choice and a couple of rooms were upgraded. It was one of the best stays with my family where we were really pampered by their swift and impeccable services. Never had experienced so warmth and smiling faces of the entire staff - be it service, housekeeping or kitchen. Food serves as excellent including veg and non veg items. Swimming pool was super clean. Dinner at Barahdari was so memorable. Highly recommended stay in the middle of Mandawa with a real HERITAGE EXPERIENCE. Thank you Rahul and your team to make our stay so memorable.…
To begin, this is a 200-year-old haveli with 11 rooms. The rooms were both spacious and luxurious. The staff, including rohit, shekhar, and others, went out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Special mentioned to Shekhar. The food was excellent; we tried Tandoori Aloo, chilli paneer, virgin mojitos, and Manchow soup. All were good, but the tandoori Aloo was the best. The in-house papad was also very tasty and complimentary. On our two-day stay, we took a camel ride to a local town with a sunset that was arranged by the hotel (chargeable), and it was a truly memorable experience. On our small tour, we tried Anuj gupchup and a local street side, both of which were excellent Tip:- Go to terrace of the haveli to enjoy sunset and its super awesome. All in all it was very nice and relax trip. You should give it try.…
It is a lovely boutique Haveli. The staff is very helpful, courteous.. the food is homely. It is advisable to order in advance so that you get your meals at your time..the famous Goenka Havelis are 5 mins away. It is a convenient place to stay and travel to Nawalgarh etc to see the havelis.
The best place to stay in Mandawa. Great room and fantastic garden and pool. Excellent service expecially at the restaurant which food is delicious. Super professional waiter the best i found in India The atmosphere is magic
The service here is outstanding. I was trying to get my padlock on my door and I glanced down and saw someone who just happened to look up at me at the same time. He came rushing up the steps to assist me. I did not even have to ask. It was pretty cold in Mandawa when we were there, and we had dinner one night outside. They provided boxes of fire pits. When we were outside, waiting for our meeting time, one of the staff tried to have a conversation with us. Really, service was very, very good. Wi-Fi was pretty bad, but that is the case in all of Mandawa. The rooms are unique, as this is a 200-year-old haveli and only 4 years old as a hotel. As a result, there is no elevator, so if steps are an issue for you, be mindful. Breakfast was served in a warm room and service was very, very good. The location is also very good, very close to the main market, shops and tours.…
We had a fantastic stay at Harlalka while we visited Mandawa in Dec 2021 for 2 nights with my husband and parents. All COVID precautions were taken seriously by all staff, the rooms were so charming and very comfortable with modern amenities considering these are all old properties/Havelis that have been renovated. Harlalka is a gem of a place, the way they have done the Haveli is so so beautiful without losing some of the original frescos. Overall, the hospitality was truly fantastic - just to name a few that closely took care of us - Rahul (the property Manager), Shekar, & Suraj - THANK YOU! And Chef Balwant Singh Negi's food was absolutely delicious - the Shekhawati delicacies were a huge hit with our family! And lastly, the town of Mandawa - what a delight to anyone who enjoys history, art, and architecture. Our guide (Deepak), who the hotel kindly put us in touch with, was fantastic and took us on a great tour of the town. So overall - a great trip, and excellent service by the staff at Harlalka who went above and beyond to accommodate all our requests.…
Good restored Haveli in Mandawa with an authentic feel. Large rooms and all modern amenities. Can be a good option for a relaxing stay while exploring Mandawa as well nearby towns of Shekhawati. Has a fairly big garden at the back as well as a swimming pool. Food is very good and Staff gives excellent and prompt service.
We have just returned from our Shekhawati Haveli trip . We had checked into Harlalka ki Haveli because it was in the centre of the art district of Mandawa. Yes, the location of this haveli- turned- hotel is excellent. All the Havelis of Mandawa that were on our checklist were within walking distance. An ancient well and a Chatrii were a few steps away . There was ample parking space in the open and our car stayed safe . I just wish hotels would provide a car wash service too. Nobody would mind paying for a hose pipe wash of the car after a long road journey. As for the rooms, they were spacious, well appointed, and clean . The frescoes on the walls were from the olden times and the frescoes of Hindu Gods and scenes from our mythology were amazing . The interior decor, windows and walls have been left untouched. It’s the exterior of the hotel that was done afresh and you can see the difference . Room service excellent, food tasty, attendants super polite and always available to serve you . We had a couple of meals in our room on the day of our arrival, but rest of the time in their garden beside the pool, with music playing in the background . Since tourism is at a low these days we had the Haveli to ourselves on Friday, but a few guests did check in on Saturday. Even then, not once did I hear the staff talking amongst themselves or even call out to each other. It was so peaceful and quiet. We had booked a guide to take us around on Saturday , and I must say Mr Om was really good at his work . Be it history of the havelis, or the culture of this area, he was excellent . Will recommend him to everyone who visits Mandawa. Now for an unpleasant experience , that I would like to share , so that others are not taken for a ride . When we were parking , this local guy , who called himself Bhola, came up and offered to be our guide for the evening . Since we had nothing planned for the evening we let him take us , but later realized that he was just an alcoholic ( he was smelling of it ) who had learnt the names of the havelis and used his English conversation skills to get his Rs 100-200 for the day’s alcohol. Another scam that is afoot is that guides promise to take you on a camel cart ride to the sand dunes where you could have tea/coffee and get some great sunset pictures . Despite our protests and doubts about sand dunes in the neighborhood , both our guides told us that they were just 2 km from our hotel .So …we were literally taken for a ride , a camel cart ride through some fields to a smaller than small hillock, which just had a temple . We were so shocked at the brazen lie ! We insisted on returning without waiting for the sun to set . We got amazing sunset pictures on the way back , but this trick to trap gullible tourists really left a bad taste . Putting these mishaps aside , it was a great trip --…
