Mandawa is a pretty interesting place and a stroll down a few streets can transport you to another world of old havelis done up with beautiful shekawati paintings. Hotel Shekhawati gives you an option to actually stay in one such Haveli (with retouched paintings) on a real budget. There are a few reasons for a good rating for this place
1) The Haveli is quite an interesting place to stay in and it's really affordable
2) The owner , Mr Pramod is an extremely warm and cheerful man who is eager to please. One of the highlights of the evening was that he set up a karaoke system and sang (He is a very good singer) and engaged another singer friend to entertain us and other guests
3) The owner ensured that we got an extremely filling breakfast (included in our stay and at a budget), and kept on feeding us till we had to literally tell him to stop giving us food as we were full.
What struck be most was this place had heart abd warmth and that's a very important consideration for me. Yes, as this is a budget place, rooms and facilities are in accordance and it has it's shortfalls but makes up in spirit and heart. But it's definitely a place I would recommend for like minded people

We spend three nights in this beautiful Hotel and enjoyed the paintings and the food a lot.
The bathroom was very clean and towels, slippers, soap, toiletpaper were provided. Anything else was working too (hot water, drinking water, AC, Wifi,…)
We arrived at night and the staff welcomed us very friendly and with Fire.
We plan to come back and if, we will choose for the same Hotel.

Mandawa is probably the best location to experience Shekhawati havelis. There are many havelis which have been converted to hotels. Hotel Shekhawati is one of the cheaper options.

Mandawa is a small place and most havelis where people can stay are near town center. Mandawa has a lot of narrow laves. Driving through the lanes with a car is not advisable.

This haveli like other havelis have which have been converted into hotels has its walls covered with hand drawn paintings. Subject of paintings are usually religious in nature based on Mahabharat or Ramayan, This haveli also has its walls covered with paintings. However it seems many of them have been given a retouch and this retouch is not of the finesse with which original paintings were done. In some of the re done painting painters have even left their phone numbers.

If you are on budget travel then this place is fine. Good thing about this place is that they have car parking space which is sort of rarity in Mandawa with its narrow streets. I stayed there on a weekday night and apart from me there was only one other family. Food is good (not great) but its expensive considering I only paid a thousand bucks a night and a plate of gatte ki sabji costed me three fifity. I guess it will be like this in other hotels or havelis as well as there are almost no stand alone restaurants. My impression is that most people who stay in Mandawa eat in the restaurants in those hotels or havelis itself. I cant comment much about the hospitality of the place as I stayed only one night (literally only a night as I checked in around 9:30 PM). I saw only three hotel staff including the man on front desk and they were polite though they tried to sell me all sort of services.

Rooms are big but a bit run down. Cleanliness was not the best though not bad. There was one thing which really spoilt my experience during my stay and it was not the hotels fault. Around 2 or 3 in the night all of a sudden a nearby Mandir started playing bhajans on loud speaker and it seemed like the sound was reverberating in all of Mandawa. A masjid later joined this and it was almost impossible to sleep. As Mandawa is very small I think this would have disturbed guests in other hotels as well.

You'll definitely fall in love with the property as soon as you lay eyes on it. The beautiful painting which is an integral part of this hotel attracts you in ways which is far beyond your expectations. The aesthetic scenery and the humble hospitality will make you stay there for days and days (until your leaves run out :D). Mr. Pramod (the owner) is wonderful host and he'll leave no stone unturned for your hospitality. The rooms are clean with clean bedsheets and sitting area. The food is delicious and very close to what we call a "home cooked menu". The hotel staff is very friendly and they'll not give you any chance or scope for any complaints. It has he facility of hot water as well. All the sightseeing properties (Mandawa Havelis) are within walking distance from this hotel. Overall, I had an excellent experience with my stay at this hotel and I'd love to stay at this property in case I decide to visit Mandawa again.

Quality-price seems fantastic. The staff are really friendly, helpful and make your life easier.
It has a very nice terrace.
Air-conditioned rooms with drawings on the walls from the time of the Silk Road.
It is a luxury to be able to sleep in a room with Indian drawings.
I was sick those days and they behaved exceptionally with me.

Calidad-precio me parece fantástico.
