The newly built heritage-style hotel in Mandawa, Sara Vilas Hotel gains attention immediately with its traditional designs that give it the look of an ancient Palace. The guests enjoy a fascinating stay here as they can travel back to past with the authentic Rajasthani values portrayed here through decor and services. They can also swim here in the luxuries with the amenities they are provided here. And for sightseeing and religious purposes, there are several temples and forts nearby the hotel.
Star ratings are intended to indicate the general level of features, amenities, and services to expect. This property is classified according to Giata.
Very correct for a stopover during a circuit. I stayed here on a group trip. The hotel is a little away from the city, the rooms are OK, the bathroom is a little dated but clean and this is a constant in India in the hotels I have stayed at. Breakfast is ok with a buffet. Dinner is also a buffet and it was decent both in quantity and choice. The coach can park in front of the door which is very practical. This is not a hotel to recommend if you want to relax in a resort, but for one night during a tourist trip it is very satisfactory.

A quirky hotel with lovely rooms although the huge bathroom felt a bit institutional. Breakfast was better than dinner. Rooms are in a separate building to reception and restaurant and you have a huge padlock to get in. It cettainly had plenty of character

Our family stayed two nights here in two bedrooms. The hotel is situated about 5km from any town so there is nothing to do outside of the hotel close by unless you have transport. Our rooms were huge and had a separate lounge/sitting area, then a big bedroom and through to the bathroom which had a large walk in shower. The shower worked very well but the toilet area did smell unpleasant though. These rooms were extremely cold in January even during the day and the tiny fan heater provided was useless. The hotel grounds are pleasant and the big swimming pool would be wonderful in the warmer months. The breakfast buffet was fine and the evening meals from the A la carte menu were good. We understand they have applied for a liquor licence. All staff were friendly and helpful. There were a few negatives; the toilets in the lobby are not clean and smell, wifi in both rooms did not work and the lighting in both rooms was poor. On the second night there was an Indian wedding that was very loud and still going at 3.15am, keeping us awake. The condition of Matsya Vilas Hotel overall in our opinion was average.

A disappointing hotel that is in desperate need of an upgrade. The entrance/reception area was good enough and the grounds seemed reasonably well maintained. The rooms were old and musty and the air con was very noisy. The swimming pool, while reasonably large, was disgusting and nobody seems to go near it, let alone have a swim. The food and service were both ok.

We spent the evening and night here after traveling from Delhi and visiting the amazing Havelis. An impressive facility with wonderful grounds, large pool area and the paintings! Walk around the grounds and look at the amazing paintings. Clean and comfortable room. Super nice staff. The breakfast was wonderful. The host/manager spent time talking with us during breakfast...truly wanted to make certain our stay was all it could be. Definitely will return and highly recommend.

Arrived after a long trip from Delhi to Mandawa to a really friendly welcome. Room was huge with both a ceiling fan and air con. It was super clean and beautifully decorated, and came with a giant padlock and key which added to the charm. The grounds are well kept although I didn't get much time to explore as it got dark. Dinner was accompanied by a puppet show which was fun. There was a lot of choice in terms of food and I could have ordered anything I wanted if I had decided to. Breakfast was less choice (maybe as it has already been exhausted by the other guests) but I still found something to eat. Staff were all super friendly and welcoming, would definitely recommend

Spacious hotel, with an impressive pool, in a fairly small town. Comfortable rooms, with air conditioning and fan. Correct bathroom, although we did not have to complain that there was no hot water. Solved in two minutes. Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. Indian dishes but very repetitive (practically all hotels serve the same thing) with soup, rice, vegetables, chicken and lentils. Desserts based on sweet preparations. If you want fruit you must ask for it, as in my case. They provide towels for the pool.

We spent a total of 3 weeks at Matsya vilas. Lovely hotel, plenty of space to run around for the children and kind considerate staff. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by Peer who treated us so well. The food was great and a good buffet selection, we requested some non spicy food for the children which was not a problem at all. The pool is clean and even though it's cold we still enjoyed a quick swim. Our suite was spacious, clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We would highly recommend this hotel for families looking for space and an enjoyable place to relax for a few days in Mandawa. Only 30 min walk or 5 mins in a taxi.
