Just writing about it is making me smile. Its one of those places. Warm and fuzzy, inviting, gorgeous landscape, yummy soaps, delicious home food, around the born fire, your pace, picnic in an orange orchard, delightful dogs, hiking in the forest, amazing team, willing to make it even more ease for you with a smile....These are a few of my favourite things. My husband and I had a beautiful time. Thank you Harkirat Singh for creating such a joyful space and sharing it with others.

When I met Harkirat Singh, owner and resident-in-chief of Citrus Country, I recounted how I had read about them a few years ago and remarked to my wife, "When will we ever go to Hoshiarpur?" And here we were sitting with him, sipping on freshly made lassi at this warm farmstay, surrounded by acres of tangerine farms, where you wake up to bird calls and the soothening strains of devotional music from the nearby gurudwara. This peace, warmth and friendship is a constant during your stay here. Citrus County is Harkirat's home - that he has lovingly built with his wife - and an extension of his gracious personality. A biker, a foodie, conversationalist, a storyteller and a farmer at heart. The tents are tastefully done and spotlessly clean, the manicured gardens a delight, the food…

Stayed with the owner and his family. It was an amazing experience of hospitality and warmth. Home comforts combined with luxury living. A great escape from the run of the mill places all over.. great food, awesome service and a beautiful serene property. Couldn't have asked for anything better! A must visit if in Punjab, especially since it is only a 2 hour drive from Amritsar. Kudos to Harkirat and Jasween who make the experience extraordinary! And a special mention of Simba and Rufus who are the funniest labs we have met in a long time! Cheers to many more!!

What a beautiful and comfortable place. Harki and team are warm and hospitable - tents are luxurious and cozy. Stopped on our way back from Golden Temple in Jan this year. The dinner by the bon fire was great. The walk in the fruit-laden Kinoos cirtus plantation early morning was refreshing. The brunch at Dhaba Express was delectable. Eager to go back soon. Cirtus county here we come ...

After staying at various hotels during my 3 week vacation in India, I spent 3 nights at Citrus County and was very pleasantly surprised by this unique experience; I had a tent stay. I found it to be a relaxing and peaceful rural experience with exceptional hospitality and personal attention. Harkirat and his family and staff went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable, safe and healthy during my stay. I truly appreciated the wonderful meals and service and would gladly come back again to stay, enjoy the surrounding property and visit with my friends at the Citrus County.

We visited Citrus County in Peak winter and loved staying in the tents sufficiently heated for good sleep. It was a comfortable stay, great food, great walks around the village and good birding experience too. The tents are designed minimally and we liked how they upcycle wine bottles to serve water. The tents have attached modern tiled bathrooms with all fittings, have kettles and tea/coffee and a work table so these are not camping style rustic tents. Each tent has a verandah with cane moodhas and maintains privacy because of the clever landscaping. Dining is open air by the campfire that feels a bit uncomfortable in early morning breakfast and night during winters but very pleasant at lunch time. The birds at the farm house were a treat, the kinnow orchards surrounding this…

Such a glamorous and fun holiday! As part of a tour group of 22 Australians, we arrived by bus near midnight from Amritsar after visiting the Golden Temple. Very very cold night but we were welcomed by toasty warm glamorous tents (each with a 4-star en-suite), and a warm meal around the firepit. Over the next 3 days we were given a tour of the local village and the citrus groves, with a picnic in the groves with lots of fresh orange juice. We were also treated to some excellent shopping brought right to the door (wholesalers brought their produce on bikes to sell at discounted prices, including a range of the most amazing local shawls and scarves). The host family are incredibly generous with their time, great cooking, tours and knowledge of the local area. While there a group…

Beautiful, well maintained Tented property in middle of a Farm house. The Owner Mr Harkirat was very hospitable man. The tents were specious and enough for two people which featured all the basic facilities . We had reached here in December evening so they arranged a bonfire for us. Harkirat has great knowledge of surrounding areas so you can go with him for Jungle walk as well. They have 150 acre of Tangerine farm. December was the harvesting season so we plucked fresh Tangerine from trees. Not only that, we had a entertaining tractor ride as well. The Food was very good as it was home cooked food . All in all, it was a wonderful stay.

This tent based rural accommodation in Hoshiarpur India has all the ammenities you need. Each tent has a western bathroom. However the hot water system can only cater for one person. Extra persons need to wait 30 minutes for the water to reheat, but once you know this you can usually work around it. December and January are the wedding months in India and hence the all night drums and "music" can affect a good nights sleep so I suggest you take earplugs and/or sleeping tablets if you want a good nights sleep. The hosts are fantastic and very accommodating. The food was local and very tasty. The owners operate a citrus farm. I would recommend this location to experience an Indian rural retreat.
