We were at WW for one night. It is clean, comfortable, and friendly. Rooms are on the small side (at least ours was) but very serviceable. Food in the restaurant was very good. It is up on a hill and somewhat cold in the winter, bring warm clothing!
We stayed here for two nights on a tour of Nagaland. The hotel is situated some way out of town by the Army Barracks so it is not really feasable to walk into the centre of an evening. The sun set early in December and the town goes to bed early as well. We stayed one of the two large rooms, upstairs. The room was clean and modern with a modern bathroom with hot water from a heater/guiser. The restauruant served a good range of decent quality food and the staff were friendly and helpful finding a hair dryer for my wife and giving us a room heater. The TV worked and had BBC Word News which was handy as the CAB issue flared up wehn we stayed. Lovely and quiet, probably the best the town has to offer.
Located at the top of the highest hill in Mokokchung, this is an modern imaginatively-designed hotel built and maintained to a high standard. Our top-floor room, room 305, was large and well equipped, with those extra softening touches that are so often missing in Indian hotels: pictures on the wall, a bedside rug, decorative lamp shades, decorative tiling in the shower room and a smart wooden floor rather than a cold concrete or stone one. We had tea and coffee making facilities, and everything was immaculately clean. Unfortunately it was let down by a shower that had insufficient pressure and just dribbled. Wifi was a bit weak in the room but fine on the pleasant terrace below. The food was good. Warning: We probably had one of the best rooms. Another couple staying in this hotel at the same time were not happy with their room, which suggests room standards are variable.…
1km approximate away on small hill top from market. Excellent view, no noise, sound pollution. Cool and calm. Tariffs vary. Am in standard room 1500. Delux is 2000 and so on. Neat and clean rooms. Sat TV in all rooms. Suggest blankets. Hot water available in all rooms with Water Heater. Services are good. Courteous staff. Excellent view gallery with seating place. One can seat with glass of tea/coffee and book with hours. Specially for those who are creative and looking for some quiet place. Would have given 4*. But bathroom in my standard room found in poor condition. It's clean buy floor has dampness all over 24*7. Water vapours comes out from floor and turning to seapage. Even if clean it continues. Had reported to reception. Not sure can be taken care in few days as it needs floor repair. Else very good hotel considering this geographic. Would love to stay here again in future. …
The Hotel is absolutely serene. We stayed overnight and had got an opportunity to gormandise ethnic Naga delicacies. The staff are extremely polite and helpful. Smooth check in. The best part is its location. The Hotel is at the highest point of the town.
Let's start with some Pros and cons. Pros: Clean, specious, well equipped room. You can get amezing view from belcoony as well as from the roofs. Hassle-free check-in and checkout Well behaved stuffs. Cons: Foods aren't that great. Cable connection wasn't working at all (probably due to bad weather) Weak Wi-Fi connection. Little pricy Verdict: One of the very best hotel you can find in Mokokchung. Go for it.
A group of motorcycle rider with a back up car, we rode into this Hotel at about 6:30 pm. We had called before coming so there was piping hot tea waiting for us. The efficient and friendly staff checked us in real fast into our 4 rooms. They also told us that they had found an additional room for us, so one of the ridders didn't have to go to stay at another place. Their last order time of 8:00 pm was graciously extended to 9:30 pm. The hotel is under renovation, so they laid the food in the small diner. It was delicious. The next morning, after a decent breakfast of bread and eggs we rode out. The lady at the reception in the morning was very sweet. A few suggestions I wish they do something about the plumbing. The water pressure is quite weak. Also, If they do up the curtain between the shower and the rest of the wash room, it will help keeping it clean and dry. The breakfast menu needs to cater to a larger variety. I will be back in Dec 2017 for sure.…
If you're visiting Mokokchung, I can't recommend any better place to stay except if your choice of stay is different from mine. Whispering winds provides the best view of mokokchung. The location itself is the best you can ask for and if you love walking, the walk from the hotel to the town is beautiful with fresh air and cold breeze following you. I have enjoyed my stay there though it was just for a night. The hotel staff were all very helpful and decent. The menu was a surprise with full English breakfast available. The price of the hotel depends on your choice of room you want but it's not expensive. Over all it's the best place to stay. Thanks Whispering winds. Hope to visit again soon.
Hotel is located higher than main town, so you get decent view and are saved from all the noise and traffic of streets. It is clean, airy and has a welcoming ambience. Rooms overlooking town are well laid out and have all the essentials for a budget hotel. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The lady at the reception helped in planning itinerary with tips about places to go and things to do. Restaurant food is good, takes about 30-45 minutes to prepare so you need to order ahead. Not all dishes on menu may be available. But food preparation is home style and the portions are just enough for 2 persons per dish. All in all a good place to stay.
It was a wonderful stay at Whispering winds. Considering Mokokchung is a very remote place, this is the best option available. The owners take personal care. They provided us special food that we needed. I think, here we received the best wifi connection. One caution: The hotel is extending its capacity in the front. The construction work is going on causing annoyance during the day. The construction obstructed the view from the lower level rooms.
