We visited Rutu farm in Sep for a short stay of 2 nights. We booked the Royal tent, after our daughter insisted that we try something different. Travelling after almost 2 years we were little anxious about the safety and hygiene of the place. But all our worries were put to rest the moment we entered Rutu farm premises. Beautiful surroundings, greenery everywhere, and most importantly homely atmosphere. We were taken to our rooms by Rohan, who manages everything brilliantly well with his able team.
The Royal tent was quite spacious and interiors tastefully done. It had old world charm with the comfort of your home.
Food was awesome- freshly made home style Maharashtrian thali. Every item was delicious.
Dining area was also very nicely done with alloted tables for each room
They have a kids play area, birds cage and even a pet dog Alex. Good passtime for kids
Staff is very courteous, follow safety protocols- mask, sanitization etc
Owners Mr & Mrs Mahangade personally interact with guests and ensure that their stay is a pleasant one
Overall a wonderful option for a quick trip with family. Kids and senior citizens friendly.
Highly recommended!!

Almost after 9 months, after COVID unlock, we decided to go out for 3 days. We thought, we should go to a place, where we have been earlier so we decided to goto Rutu Farm. Our earlier experience was also remarkable.
On reaching, we saw and experienced, owners have taken good care of hygine and security from COVID threat.
Hotel rooms were very good and have sufficient space for family. It has all required aminities.
Food is excellent (veg/non-veg).
Hotel has sufficient parking space, well maintained play area and activity area.
Wai Ganpati Mandir, Nana Fadanvis Wada in Menavali and Dhol dam boat club are nearby places to visit
For internet access, one must rely on his/her mobile data plan.
Overall, we enjoyed our short trip @Rutu Farm and we recommend it for a short break.

Had booked this place for my mother and her friends, all seniors wanting a little break.
The location is really nice. Their property is wonderful and rooms are very well maintained and beautiful, but it all goes in vain due to completely lackluster hospitality and really poor service from the staff and property management.
Their check in is at 12, but all the ladies reached a little early, so they were understandably made to wait, but whilst they were waiting, no one cared or attended them.
When it was well past 12, they again had to chase management, but were rudely told that they shouldn't have come before time and they would be told once the rooms were ready. They again waited and when no one turned up went to the rooms themselves, which were ready, but guess management didn't care to inform them.
The cold hospitality didn't stop there but continued. When they went to the restaurant for the evening tea, the guys there simply advised them to go to the sunset point and have tea there rather than serving them. Their excuse was, they will miss the sunset, well the guests are sensible enough to judge this, so it was really sad to receive this unnecessary advice and unwelcoming treatment.
As these are seniors, they get up really, but again were forced to wait until 7:30 to have a cup of tea. When they went for tea, (not before time), they just found one cup of tea in the flask, and when they asked for more were again greeted with the now trademark cold hospitality remark - "Is it over all already, now wait as I've so many things to do".
These are all seniors, so I expected some extra care and decent service from the management, but forget the extra care, they weren't even treated nicely.
The hospitality was so bad, that even my driver had to suffer. While booking the property I had requested a place to sleep for our driver, which they happily agreed to. But when the driver went there in the night, he was rudely sent away and was told that he will be called whenever the place (to sleep) is free, and it might be around 11-12 in the night. My poor driver had to sleep in his car in this cold weather.
Their property is good but it's of no use if people running it don't treat their guests well. I would neither visit this place again nor recommend it to anyone due to sheer treatment and hospitality, which is a real shame for such nice property. Hopefully they will take some learning from this bad experience of ours and improve their service.

We planned our vacation @ Rutu Farms during the pandemic. A bit skeptical as we were travelling with a 5 yr old kid, who had not stepped out of the house due to Covid. But as we stepped into Rutu Farms all our worries vanished. The property, ambience, cleanliness, service we experienced at this location was just too good. To add to all this was the yummy food that they served - it was like a icing on the cake. They take due care and serve non spicy food for children. We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary and Rutu farms ensured to make our day eventful by arranging a cake and candle lit dinner table. Special mention and Thanks to Rohan from the property - he took good care of our requirements and also arranged for farm fresh vegetables, farm visits and tractor rides.
Much needed break culminated into awesome memories. We look forward to visit this property again!!

We stayed at Rutu Farms for 2 nights. Stayed with family (4 adults and 2 toddlers). We had zeroed in on the place after a lot of online research. We were looking for a place to relax and something which was close to nature. And the stay at Rutu Farms was exactly that. Though the area is limited, there is enough space to unwind, relax, catch a quick game of badminton, play area for kids, etc. And if that isn't enough, it's close by to places such as Dhom Dam boating area where you can spend an evening. Plus, you can also have a tractor ride to their farm nearby and have a look at the fruits and veggies (when we visited, it was almost the last crop of strawberries for the year that was ready for harvest. We had a nice time plucking and eating farm fresh strawberries). There's also a friendly German shepherd dog named Alex who you can spend time with if you are a dog lover (though we found him a bit gloomy probably because of his companion Angel who crossed the rainbow bridge about two years back). Anyway our kids just loved him and he also enjoyed our company.
The rooms are well maintained and have all basic amenities. The best part of the rooms is the small balcony which opens into a green area. Another aspect you will notice about Rutu is that the greenery around has mostly trees and plants which are part of the typical landscape and not the ornamental kind. Coming back to the rooms, the bathrooms are kind of different with an area having a roof open to nature (enclosed with a net). While we opted for a cottage, they also have a tent option where the rooms are more cosy.
The food was also very good, with thalis having a variety of dishes. The best part of this place for us was that they helped us to prepare the par boiled rice which our toddlers are comfortable with (we had checked with them earlier and carried the rice with us), and served the rice to our kids for lunch and dinner. This helped us get over one of our biggest worries since this was the first time our kids were traveling and staying overnight outside home (thanks to the lockdown and subsequent Covid waves). The staff at Rutu Farms is very courteous and helpful.
All in all, we had a very relaxing stay. Definitely will plan another trip here in future.

Was planning to visit this agri farm holiday destination for a long time, finally managed it
Had been here with friends and their families, a great place to be. We had stayed in cottages which are very good in size and can accomodate a third person very easily. These cottages are very well maintained and the highlight is the open to courtyard style washroom. Cottages have TV and AC as well.
The property is surrounded by greenery which makes you feel fresh and energetic.
The property is well spread with ample parking space and play area.
The food quality was also good and served in time, only thing is you need to stick to the timings as the ladies who work in the kitchen are locals and need to go home in time, specially at night and hence this request you will get.
There are good spots around the resort to visit, like wai ganapati, dhom dam, laxmi narshimha temple which dates back to pandav era and later renovated by the Peshwas. Menawali ghat and Nana Phadanvis wada are must visit places those who love history.
Overall we all had a great weekend at Rutu farm.

Rutu Farms is an excellent place to stay at, very homely atmosphere, still privacy secured, very cooperative helping staff, very tasty food and on top of it the owner either Aba or his son takes care of every guest that stay with them. No commercial attitude seen anywhere. Is a must place to come and stay.

A nice place for a weekend's getaway from the city, especially for silence and to breathe clean and fresh air. The food quality is great. Staff is nice and polite.
Special mentions to Rohan.
Rooms don't have napkins and bath towels which can be an issue during longer stays(2+ nights).
