Location, location, location. Right by the Karnavati (Ken) river, with a sprawling garden and good rooms. We landed in the late afternoon to a glorious sunset. They arrange the safaris too, with pickup and drop at the resort. The breakfast on the first day was insufficient. It improved on the second day when we complained. Food is mighty expensive, and Khajuraho, about 20 km away, with much variety and reasonable price may be a better option for food. A clean ysheet to go with the blanket would be good.

We were staying at a peaceful yoga retreat place a little over a kilometer away from the noisy temple area in Khajuraho. We decided we wanted to be even closer to Panna National Park for our 6 am Safari. It wasn’t easy to find a reasonably priced, comfortable hotel. I wasn’t sure about my choice. The Karnavati staff was very communicative and very helpful in arranging for our safari after I had no luck on my own. We were amazed and enchanted by the hotel itself from the minute we drove through the gates. The grounds are beautiful, peaceful and well-maintained. The gracious hotel sits exactly on the banks of the Ken River. The monkeys are pleasant and not at all aggressive. The room is very big and comfy. The balcony is wonderful. The perfect place to spread your mat for yoga. The staff is quite kind and helpful. In short, choose this hotel for your exploration of Panna National Park. In fact, if you come to Khajuraho to see the glorious temples, you can easily stay at Karnavati, enjoy the serene surroundings and take a cab or even a rickshaw back and forth for touring the temples. As others have mentioned, the meals are relatively expensive; twice what we usually pay. This is something the owner might think about changing.

We stayed for one night here. Room is good with geyser and tea/coffee maker. They have well maintained garden on the river bank. They had lit up bonfire at no extra cost. Food is very expensive and quantity served is less. One plate if any item is enough for a person only. Since this place does not have restaurant like other places, you are forced to eat here or look for a dhaba which is not very hygienic. Hotel should either reduce food price or increase quantity. For food my rating is average for stay it is good. When you go for safari they pack your breakfast, which consists of paratha and sandwiches. They give water. Coffee in thermos should be provided. Also ask for safari blanket if you are going for safari in winter.
