Read all the 5-star reviews already on here, and they've already shared my sentiments on Pashan Garh. We went as a family vacation, and as a way of introducing our 5 and 6-year-old daughters to India's great wildlife. The service: Mahendra was a step above in attending to our every wish. I also noticed how much literal physical discomfort it caused any staff member to say "no," which they had to say on a few things through no fault of their own (ie, "is it possible to see the local cave art?" "No, the government hasn't opened it back up yet"). That said, I was amazed at how they arranged the seemingly-impossible: for example, we loved our stay so much we extended it, and asked late Sat night if a Sunday safari slot could be arranged. We fully expected a "sorry, we can't make such a booking on short notice" and were warned that it might not be feasible... but they made it happen! They also arranged a few other once-in-a-lifetime surprises like elephant feedings. Family friendly: I loved how kind and accommodating they are to children. Bopanna, our naturalist, was exceptionally patient with my daughter who talked his ear off during the safari when I knew he'd rather be looking for leopards with the rest of us than talking about butterflies or the red rocks. The kitchen was also very nimble in accommodating many requests to ensure they got what they wanted, and where. The food: This property doesn't have menus and rather, they ask what you'd like and suggest a dish or two. I'm vegan, and was amazed at the creations that came out of the kitchen. I was incredibly appreciative that they didn't just serve me extra sides of everyone else's main course (which is what I was expecting, as it's what usually happens elsewhere) but rather, they crafted unique dishes specifically to my diet. This included desserts from their pastry chef. There were nice touches like soy milk for the morning breakfast, too. The variety of dishes was also crazy: Western, Mexican, Chinese, Thai, Indian... we went from tacos one day to Thai curries and thalis the next. I often trusted the chefs enough and just said "surprise me," which they did beautifully. Oh, and be sure to get the mocktails, too--I generally avoid them while out because they're usually canned juice and weirdly-favored syrups, but here it's fresh herbs, fruits, cut limes and soda water mixed in wonderful ways. The wildlife: We went right at the beginning of the season when I knew full well that the animals were unpredictable and the lush greenery inhibited sightings. I very much preferred good weather and greenery to cold and tigers, and from that perspective, late Sept/early Oct is fantastic. We booked not really caring too much if we saw a tiger which, spoiler alert, we didn't. We did, however, see the sloth bear, deer, antelope, peacocks, playful monkeys, reptiles, vultures, giant spiders, a bird flying off with a snake in its beak, and a whole lot of elephants. More than the animals, though, was the park itself. There's something about the sunlight that just basks everything in this radiant golden glow. It made for otherworldly sunsets and sunrises, but also just gorgeous days. Anyone's photos will turn out beautiful here, even those like myself who generally don't take many. The landscape was, for us, better than the animal sightings--in fact, we pushed to go to Vulture Point (a phenomenal stop with a gorge and waterfall) at the expense of staying at what everyone thought was a tiger hotspot. Accommodations: pictures are totally accurate. As a note, there's no WiFi but your phone WILL get good signal (which I hear is a recent development, so maybe the hotel will get it in the rooms soon!). Bring a Jio device if you need to surf the web. Price: just wince, close your eyes and pay the bill. It's worth it. Given the nausea-inducing room rates, I was a little worried I'd make one of those psychological fallacies and hold this place to unrealistic standards and be disappointed... but it's actually worth the price. Amazing trip. It's so hard not to fall in love with this place, and the incredible staff that make it all happen. Taj's staff members are already a cut above the rest, and they really seem to send their best to Pashan Garh. Oh, and if still reading in the time of covid: The employees are all highly conscientious, but Madhya Pradesh on the whole is not when it comes to incessant temperature checks and mask-wearing... which honestly is a reason I chose this state/vacation. It was great running around in the open air, outdoors, mask-free, with the sunshine! If you want to go somewhere to forget about c19, this is the perfect spot.

Our stay at Pashangarh, Taj safari property at Panna was made memorable by Resort Manager, Deepu sir, our safari guide, young dynamic and resourceful Bopanna, our butler Rocky and all that amazing staff working behind the door. From the moment of our arrival at resort we were overwhelmed by the warm welcome offered by the staff at resort all waving in unison. Utmost care and precaution was taken for the hygiene during our stay under this COVID-19 pandemic situation. Felt very safe and at home thanks to Deepu sir. Safari trips with Bopanna were highlight of the tour. He’s very knowledgeable and familiar with the Panna national park. The ancient caves, vulture point and sighing of two tiger cubs are worth mentioning. Playing points game for first sightings of animal to beat the heat and keep us occupied during safari were great. Nightjar, a bird, carried 100points and believe me it’s the toughest one to spot but Bopanna aced at it. Night safari at 200acre property of Pashangarh is a must. We even loved the evening safari walk with Bopanna on wild tracks around resort. At the request of our teens, Bopanna took them for night sky gazing too out in the resort and they enjoyed every moment spent with him till 1am in the morning. It was our 19th marriage anniversary and Deepu sir along with his team arranged a special dinner with cake for the surprise celebrations. The whole experience is going to be one of the most memorable tours we ever had. We loved and enjoyed every bit of our stay very much. Thanks for all the love and care 🙏🏼

This was a splurge but it was worth every penny (rupee). First, the cottages are lovely with plenty of room and a gazebo outside. We saw two leopards and a lot of wildlife on the property itself. The staff was amazing and really enhanced our stay. We had food made to order and they catered to our every need. We really enjoyed the naturalist (Bhopanna, who made everything in the forest make sense from the plants to the animals) and the others (Dipu and Mahendra) who made the stay enjoyable. It was trip we'll always remember and we hope to do another Taj Safari. We know it's worth the expense!!

Honestly, no amount of praise can truly express just how overwhelmingly wonderful our experience at Pashan Garh was. Mahendraji, our butler, went above and beyond to ensure that every single day that we spent there was exceptional and really just perfect in every way !! Dipuji, the Manager and Head Naturalist, also made sure that we had a great overall experience and it was really fun to talk to him about forests and wildlife because he’s so passionate about it !! Major props to all the amazing chefs (Chef Karan, Chef Raj and Chef Sanjeev) and the kitchen staff who prepared all our scrumptious meals and absolutely delicious treats so brilliantly !! The housekeeping staff (Ranjit, Pushpendra, Sonu) were very, very prompt in their services and kept our cottage super clean and pristine 24/7 !! Also, a big thank you to Lallan Singh, who was always there to escort us to our cottage in the dark !! We took two safaris at the Panna National Park, and also went on the Night Safari and nature walk within the property and they were all truly surreal experiences. Tarun, our naturalist, was very knowledgeable and made sure that we got a little taste of the magic and mystery that the jungle has to offer !! Being in the midst of the woods, practically cut off from the rest of the world, was so enriching and just experiencing the little things like, seeing a family of wild boars go about their day from the cottage window, watching beautiful little birds sipping water out of the pool, and sitting by the fire and listening to Dipuji, Mahendraji and Tarun narrate endless fascinating tales about the jungle was simply incredible !!! Don’t wanna give too much away, but if you do plan to visit Pashan Garh (which you absolutely, immediately should !!), just know that your stay will be peaceful, enchanting and full of wonderful surprises (from the jungle AND from their amazing staff), and will most certainly leave you longing for more!!
