Hotel is not well maintained as its a Govt property. Expected it to be clean but was ok and felt like staying in a lodge. Bedding was not very clean and the property did not have an attached restaurant. It is located a little far and each time wanted to have a meal had to walk down without any room service. Overall not a very great experience staying in a property which charges a 3-star price and provides a lodge kind of experience. Rooms were bigger and had enough space and for a change bathrooms were new and clean.
Well maintained and spacious rooms. 24 hours hot water and great view from the semi deluxe AC rooms was the great thing. Food at the restaurant was also good. It's location at the view point is really the advantage. Overall it was a worth and great stay and family experience.
This is a sarkari property by KSTDC. There is no reception, Staff doesn't want to serve people in the restaurants, people are peeing in public daylight in the walkways and the person responsible for providing the room. There is shortage of water and no water in flush of the toilet. Please avoid if you don't wan a pathetic experience
The hotel is located opposite to Jog Falls and it is worth while to stay the night there. The falls are visible from the room. The size of the room is good though the furniture and fixtures are just basic as would be expected for a govt run property. The deluxe room has an AC and the room is clean. The building is outdated. The resturant is at a distance. The dinner times are fixed for a short duration and the food is also tolerable. Nothing much to write about as they have a very limited menu. Both veg and non veg available. No room service
We stayed at this property for 2 nights and regreted our decision to the extent of trying to propone our trip. It's unfortunate to see a location as pristine as that in the possession of KSTDC, going to such a waste under the management of Hotel Mayura Gerusappa. There is no level of service so to speak. The receptionist, who could as well be an official of the post office or railway station, made no effort to speak to us in a language understood by us nor made any pretence of hospitality or welcome. The room was big as it was AC double deluxe, but had a lizard. But there was a clear NO to room service, wifi or even picking up of the phone at the reception. Even the coffee and tea bags for room service were handed off in a measured and controlled manner..with request for extras being frowned upon. The TV not working intermittently and not having any non kannada channels cannot even be brought up under the grander scheme of things failing here. The biggest disappointment was the restaurant, which had the most basic standard menu of All India ...panner, dal and manchurian. What about the delicious local cuisine of Karnataka? What about the ubiquitous akki roti or bissibele bhaat? Does rest of India have no representation on your menu other than the paneer obsessed North? This place could definitely work for some people, but it did not for us. I would instead recommend the jungle lodges 6km away, who have better prices and many things to do, including the viewing of the falls and other activities. Also do not visit the falls at non rainy season and expect a spectacle!…
Hotel Mayura at Jog Falls surprised us in many ways. We booked a Deluxe room with Waterfall view and were not at all disappointed. The view from room was very nice. The room itself was of good size, very well maintained and clean. Sleep quality in the room was nice since the bedding was of premium quality. They provided toiletries from Biotique and Mysore Sandal. Breakfast was included in our package and was available at the Mayura restaurant. The restaurant is very crowded in the morning since a lot of outside tourists also have their breakfast here after arriving from Shimoga. My suggestion is to go for breakfast at 8 am to avoid the crowd from 8:30 am. Food quality is average but manageable considering this is a remote area. This restaurant actually was the worst part of our stay. They take about 15 mins and reminders to take your order. The menu is limited and out of that half the items are not available. There is ample space to park the car outside the hotel so there is no need to park the car in tourist parking area.…
Stay was really nice...Didn't expected that the Govt operated hotel will have such standard...had a pleasant view of the falls from the room which everyone enjoyed...Best was the food in the restaurant...Courteous behaviour of the caretaker Mr. Manjunath...Ample parking space...Book only A/C super deluxe double room where you can get a wonderful view of the Jog falls !! Definitely worth staying in the room!!
Great location for the property with view of falls from bedroom. Decent cleanliness and large sized rooms. The hotel does have a restaurant too close by with good menu for both veg and non-veg. At times the place is crowded as it’s open for common public too.
I really enjoyed my stay @ Hotel Mayura Gerusoppa Jogfalls. Rooms are well maintained and cleaned. Pros - - View is really awesome from window of room. - Clean rooms - Good in hygiene practises - Takes care of COVID protocol seriously - Hotel staff is very good, helpful and courteous. - Lot of places to visit around the hotel Cons - - Food restaurant is little far from hotel. - Restaurant is common for the Jog Falls visitors from outside and guests. So, during weekends and peak hours one will find to much rush . - Food is also okay, not that good but no other good option nearby is available.
Our was a family trip, we booked 3 AC rooms for one day, the jog fall is visible from all the rooms. They have big rooms and big window, you can sit back and enjoy the view. The only issue is they don't have refrigerator in the rooms or any central area near office or AC block, you have to go down till canteen (~300 meters), to store anything in refrigerator. If you are traveling with 1year old than it is a challenge as they demand frequent milk. Also the room service is not available. The food is good but choices are very less. AC is good, rooms are also fine. The view take the maximum impact, it is beautiful, I honestly recommend to stay here at least for one day, just to enjoy the nature and quality family time. PS: They have different block for different category of rooms. The Jogfall view is only from AC room block not from other standard rooms. Also remember this is not 5 star hotel, only my experience is 5 star as I was not expecting 5 star service.…
