Spent a couple of nights last month in this property. The location is good, the front desk/reception employees were friendly and willing to help, the restaurant staff were supportive and overall a good ambience. The room was good (on the back side not on road side) but the wash room was not upto the mark. Hot water was always a problem, the overall cleanliness of the wash room was much below expectations. However, the restaurant and food quality was very good (music volume was a bit loud) and we had good meals. The breakfast had lot of varieties and most of the dishes were served hot. Overall a decent place to spend a few nights.

It is a nice little hotel for a quick halt in Shimoga. visited in March 2020. They were accomodative when we asked for early breakfast and did pack us enough food...room is good enough and it will be better if they provide basic things like soap, paste etc without having to request for it.

A night halt to this place chosen on urgent basis was not at all bad as under Clark’s Inn logo this place is on main road , little tight on parking however the security guard will take care ( so leave it on him) . We checked in late by 3pm expecting that we can do our lunch , as being a Independence day the restaurant was live with sumptuous buffet spread ( the staff were kind enough to see that we could taste some of the food which got exhausted by substituting what we demanded.. not their fault as we were late.. To talk of room we had a corner suite room as we preferred being 3 adults.. Was comfortable & best part my son enjoyed the Jacuzzi bathtub.. Over all the staff are very courteous & helpful .. Well in my preview the hotel is not bad for an overnight / long stay. Other thing what we liked was food preparation(spl non veg) & was tasty.. Have a full fledged bar to make one sober.. 👍

An extremely disappointing experience at Clarks In. , Shivamogga,unlike other Clarks Inn properties. Property is unmaintained and needs a serious renovation.Lift creaks and shakes.Room is crampy with broken fittings and fixtures.Bathroom fittings are stained and broken.Linen is unclean.Restaurant glass partition and door is broken with cracks. Restaurant is the biggest let down with the entire team unable to understand neither converse in the local language.Food options are limited compared to the menu.Only two cocktails are available and served in regular small juice glasses.Stale chicken dishes are served.Bill is thumped while the guests are eating.The entire restaurant staff keep talking loudly among themselves,disturbing the restaurant ambience.Buffet breakfast is too basic with tasteless food.Boiled eggs and sweet are stored in a single container adjacent to each other .Terrible and pathetic service, in total contrast to a star property. Fortunately the reception staff are courteous and well behaved with a prompt service.The final room tariffs were higher compared to the online tariff at the time of booking.Only advantage is its walkable proximity to the railway station. Other properties in Shivamogga offer far better experience at much lesser pricing. Definitely not recommended.

1. The rooms weren’t particularly clean. Spaces under the cots seemed not to have been cleaned in a while.
2. There was rust and white cement and discolourations in the bathroom rooves and walls.
3. Some rooms did not receive water at various points in the morning, while some did not receive hot water. I used my tea kettle to heat water for my bath.
4. The buffet breakfast is disappointing in terms of variety, availability, and service.
5. The a la carte lunch at the restaurant was fabulous in terms of quantity, cost, quality and variety. Service was okay.
6. Facilities (such as tea kettles and in fact towels) were not always available in the rooms as promised/ expected.
7. We gave laundry on the day of check out before we decided to check out. Some of it came back laundered but still damp.
8. The beds and pillows were comfortable.
We checked out earlier than scheduled because mainly of the water. But overall, I would not recommend this hotel. Prices are too high for this level of service, although no price can persuade us to stay here again.

Stayed for couple of nights. Located by the side of the main road, easy to spot. They have basement parking but the entry to the parking could have been better.
Check-in was smooth, despite heavy rush the front desk personals made their best efforts to check us in at their earliest.
The restaurnt is quite big and serves hot freshly prepared dishes at reasonable prices. Most of the dishes were tasty. Morning breakfast is surved as buffet with live counter for eggs and dosas. Breakfast items were varied and fresh.
The rooms an furnitures were a bit dated and might need some makeover sooner. However rooms were big with clean linens and all basic amenities including a tea-coffee counter. Sleep quality was good. Though rooms feature a window but no view as such, better keep the curtain on. Overall a relook in to the cleaning would have been. Room service could have been better.
Also a bit better covid protocol implementation, at least in common places and making mask mandator for all the staffs would have scored better.
Overall a decent place for a short stay at Shimoga.

I stayed at Clarks inn for a night en-route to Jog falls. One of the good places to stay in Shimoga. the experience over all was satisfactory.
Road work was in progress when I visited so it was a bit difficult to get the car in and out.
Booking was done thru booking.com and I confirmed the booking thru phone as I neared Chitradurga. We initially got a smoking room but upon request for change we were upgraded to the suite room at no extra cost. The suite room has a jacuzzi bath tub which was the highlight.
The hotel has in house dining and the food taste was very good. Breakfast spread was also very good.
Overall I would rate this property 3/5 for the location and the accessibility. The parking is also tight and can accommodate a max of 8-10 cars at a time. The rooms could be a little more neat. while the management state these are non smoking rooms it is evident from the smell that guests do smoke inside.
But if u are looking at a decent place to hole in for the night then this is one that I would still recommend.

Worst experience ever.. 1) The rooms are not at all clean.. they did not clean the space under bed. We booked 3 rooms and all the rooms had garbage used water bottles, balloons, paper. 2) They cost 3k plus gst. I specifically told the rooms has to be clean since I have kids especially a small baby. 3) When I tried to complaint the facility manager was like mam keep ur voice low. And the worst thing is they cleaned one side of the bed and went and I had to again call them to clean the other side. 4) On top of all we realised (the next day) that 1500 cash was missing from our purse when we have gone out for dinner. We have asked for towels and they have opened the room without our permission and kept the towels inside. And we strongly suspect that the missing cash was taken at that time as we have never taken out that purse anywhere. Do not book this hotel ever! Pathetic service!

I had to travel to Shimoga on a business trip and arrived early in the morning via train from Bengaluru. The hotel was recommended to me by the company I was visiting and boy was it convenient to walk across from the railway station.
The reception had a guy on alert who swiftly checked me into a clean and functional room. The linen was spotless and overall, there was nothing I could fault with the room. For the purpose I was there, it served me very well.
The staff are courteous and the restaurant is also decent. Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Shimoga for work or pleasure.
