I have been to so many resorts & homestay where i will love to go back again because of the food, stay & hospitality but here i don't have any reson to go back. While booking they didn't tell about so many restrictions, timings for food, no food to room not even morning coffee/tea to room. I felt like staying in a hostel where a warden is an owner. Now the best part is food, they don't have enough employees & only 1 cook. They can't serve all together sufficient so they say we want to give hot food to our guest. I waited exactly 20 mins between 1st dosa & 2nd dosa. Other guest simply got up & went off. Starters: we reached by 4:30 pm took our to get time to freshen up & settle. We asked for snacks & the response was you should tell us before, does that mean I should call up in afternoon. They literally told other guest we can't get the starters as you are telling late (it's 7 when they are asking) we can't go & get stuffs from town (to be specific this town is hardly 10 mins from stay in bike). I never felt coming for a weekend relaxation. I big disappointment for me that i choose this stay over others just by seeing a pool. "All that glitters is not gold".

Absolutely amazing stay Hosts Arpita and her husband are humble and delightful Food is superb If one wants to try Malnad homemade delicacies .. Akki rotti .. poorie.. fish !!this is the place to stay . Rooms are clean , spacious .. extra bed with a cot provided if u ask so in the beginning. We were three families of 7 adults and 4 kids and was a pleasure right from the time of arrival Several sight seeing places around . Do enquire with the host for guidance . No Internet .. so kiss it a goodbye for a while .. it’s worth every penny u pay Amidst nature … resort looking … bonsai’s and flowering plants a plenty Made our stay v memorable.. Highly recommended

We have been visiting Bananki for over a decade now as it is a true "Home" stay of sorts. The place itself is easily accessible by road and is located in a very peaceful location. This in fact is the best thing about Bananki...Historical places such as Kuvempu's house, Agumbe View point, Bhimanakatte hanging bridge, and so on are all a short drive away. Coastal Karnataka's destinations such as Udupi, Kundapura, Marvante beach, Murudeshwara are well within 150kms/3 hours drive. What truly sets Bananki apart are the hosts and by far the most delicious home cooked food. Every meal is prepared and served with utmost care, and is almost always an authentic delicacy. Hosts along with their housekeeping staff are always eager to help you and ensure your stay is comfortable.

A family of 38 members with 7 cars at 2:30 pm , we landed at BANAKI HOMESTAY on Saturday. The property is with a arecanut plantation and a Old British Bungalow with beautiful landscape welcomes us. As soon as we land we see people being excited and Arpitha (the Host) directing all her staff to take care of our luggage and orders her kitchen staff to prepare for service... She is a woman who is passionate so is her team, upon welcome with a welcome drink and she ensuring all 38 members settled....she heads to dining room to prepare for lunch. Lunch is a authentic MALNAD style (veg and non veg)a and all being unlimited... She made us so comfortable that we all had extra .... Kids were taken care beautifully with love and comfort.... . Upon dinner we went to check our rooms which are cozy rooms with good view and each room being unique and comfortable..Bathroom are so spacious and hot water is ensured..Pool side is a place wich all of us liked and spent most of our time. Hospitality was so awesome and it was a HOME AWAY FROM HOME.... Safe for family and KIDS.....Cleaning happens regularly and on request ....Food , beverages were served with no hitch and it was so amazing.... RACHANNA AND ARPITHA are a welcoming couple and here passion calls you back to visit them again....

This was our second visit after nearly a gap of 5 to 6 years, but absolutely found no change in the excellent hospitality of the host, food, ambience, but in addition to this they have extended the facilities with new cottages which are well designed and ensures privacy, and also with the rustic look with very pleasant interiors and the new swimming pool is of top notch. The in house staff are very polite and are very helpful. The place is extremely well maintained, the room's are kept impeccably clean and there is not a dull moment as you can't spend hours in the beautiful garden, which has a variety of flowering and exotic plants. The food should be given special mention for its taste, variety and freshness. The hosts Arpita & Rachan are to be commended for the love and effort they have put into, for giving this place an overwhelming experience for their guests.

We went on a short family trip and stayed at the Bananki Homestay based on the recommendations from a friend. The homestay exceeded our expectations and the host Arpita is one of the most cordial and good hearted human being we have come across. We felt at home from the minute of arrival and the host took great care of us. Kids loved the place. We definitely advise this place as a must stay location for anyone travelling towards Shimoga.

Our host were really friendly and they are great people. They stay in the property and accommodate you well. We were a family of 7 adults and 2 kids, and took the 3 premium rooms located in the main building. You'll get good privacy. Also, social distancing is no issue as the property is quite big. Regarding internet, the only service provider that'll work well is JIO - Reliance. Food is of course the main highlight. You'll get authentic and tasty dishes. The host will pamper you well, and you'll get a variety of dishes to taste. There's a 5ft swimming pool with kids pool area, bicycles for kids and adults, basketball to play with. Evening bonfires are enjoyable given the fact that temperature dips fast in the evening in the Malnad region. Also, there are a few good places to visit nearby ( 15-30mins drive), you could ask the host for suggestions and they'll be happy to help you out. P.S. If you wish to go over a weekend expect some company from other guests. However, if you want to be the only guests, you could try booking the place on a weekday.
