We an extended family of 13 senior citizens from Bangalore stayed at this property for a night from 17th to 18th Jan. The property is simply beautiful, with very well maintained garden. Rooms were quite spacious and nicely maintained. The owner's family stay in the property and the whole family mix very well with the guests without any inhibitions. They took care of our needs pretty well. The food was fabulous so was the fusion wines made inhouse by them. I only wish we had spent few more days there, but sure to comeback to complete this wish. Highly recommended for those who want a relaxed stay with good food and hospitality. Totally a value for money property and stay.

A group of 14 of us - senior citizens - brought in the new year at Kolavara Heritage Homestay. We couldn't have made a better choice! The ambiance of the place is very good, the hospitality superlative and the home-cooked food mouth-watering. The Homestay is very efficiently run by Vathsalya, ably assisted by her mother-in-law and her husband Nischal. Nischal's father, Mr. Murthy, a very upright and sprightly octenagarian put all of the younger lads and lasses to shame by his youthful energy. He was a very welcome presence at all our meals where he would explain the composition of each Malnad dish and urge us to taste all that was laid out. He ensured that we lacked for nothing. The kitchen staff headed by Devaiah and his helpers provided us sumptuous meals. The finger food and the NewYear's Eve dinner was excellent. A special mention must be made of Ram Singh who presided at the dining hall and its allied activities. An excellent Homestay which many, if not all of will revisit.

My wife and I were looking for a memorable stay to spend our 10th wedding anniversary with our 2 kids and we couldn't have picked a better place than Kolavara Heritage homestay. We were here for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The property is in a picturesque location amidst lush greenery and is exceptionally well maintained by the lovely hosts - Nischal and Vatsalya. The rooms are elegant and super clean and every artifact and display in the rooms or in the property are thoughtfully decorated. All safety measures are taken to sanitize the rooms. The pool is a great highlight and we enjoyed our time daily in the pool - it was my 1+ year old's first pool dip! The food is out of the world with several varieties covering all the popular local delicacies. Mr. Devaiah who is the main cook is a very humble person who patiently answered our queries on the food. We and the kids had got used to him and Mr. Ram Singh (who helps Mr. Devaiah). By far this is the BEST food we have eaten at a homestay. The coffee estate is super well maintained and one can enjoy the walks within the estate. The hosts have great taste in collecting rare plants and its a feast to see so many well maintained plants and the property's lush green landscape. There is a campfire in the evenings and lots of indoor games for kids and adults. There are a decent number of sight seeing places but we enjoyed staying back and taking walks, dip in the pool, eat lots of great food and admire the property itself. We stepped out for half a day to see Kavimane (Kuvempu's heritage home)/Kavishaila which also has a nice sunset point which is just 6 km away and a visit to Chibbalagudde where there is a Ganesha temple and LOTS of huge fishes that one can enjoy seeing and feeding on the banks of river Tunga. This was a hit with the kids! If you are travelling from Bangalore, a more convenient route could be travelling on NH4 and taking a de-tour towards Hosadurga from Hiriyur, especially if you are travelling with kids. The route via Hassan-Belur-Koppa is good and scenic but can get tiring for the kids with the curvy roads. Overall, this is one place we would definitely want to visit over and again with a larger family group.

A wonderful place, with excellent food! We, a family of 18 (including kids) , stayed at this home stay from 20th to 23rd Nov 2020. We loved the place so much that we decided to extend our stay by a day!! Every meal was tasty and wholesome....we got to taste the local cuisine. The homestay is in the middle of a plantation. The rooms are very spacious and neatly maintained. The entire place is very tastefully decorated - the garden is beautifully maintained, the verandah has swings and chairs for folks to sit around, the swimming pool is nicely located offering a view of the plantation. The hosts Vatsalya & Nischal were very friendly and helpful. They both have a very sweet smile which makes you enjoy your stay even more. Uncle & Aunty (Nichal's parents) were very nice and down to earth. Uncle is a very charming person who makes it a point to spend time with the guests. The entire family interacted so much with us that we felt we were all part of a big extended family:). Aunty's home made wines were splendid. The place itself is located close to many places of attraction - Kupalli (Kuvempu's birth place), Agumbe, Kavaledurga, Kundadri etc. All in all a wonderful vacation that we thoroughly enjoyed. We'll be going to this place again and again!! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality Vatsalya, Nischal, Uncle & Aunty!!
