Detailed Reviews
This quaint homestay nestled in the forests of Dandeli offers tranquility to the traveller. The comfort of clean rooms, home food like meals specially crafted as per local cusine (with an array of chutneys to die for!) and a plethora of fauna to revel in provides the best reconnect with our inner selves.
There is no WiFi connection to disturb ones sejourn however the manager is helpful and kind enough to share his phone connection with you.
Local activities are recommend by the management and there's something for all!
White water rafting, trekking, honey farm visits and bird watching can all be arranged.
A special mention for the refreshing herbal teas served 24*7!
We had a wonderful time!

We recently visited this heaven of a place equipped with equally devoted and friendly staff.
It's run by Mr. Narasimha Bhat who has a very deep understanding towards environmental issues. His gratitude towards the bountiful nature, and the fact that bees are blessings is worth emulation. Mr. Bhat makes it a point to interact with all his guests, and takes them on a beautiful nature walk which culminates in a scenic spot, where one can talk his/ her heart out and ponder about life generally.
Rohan Desai, manages and guides the visitors so that they can make the most of their visit. He makes sure that all visitors are well fed and comfortable. He pays attention to minute details too.
Cottages are clean, well ventilated, bright and done in typical native taste.
I recommend the in house Herbal Bath, where various herbs are brought to a boil in a Hundi. It's a must do as it relieves all stress and anxiety.
Nature bath, wherein u can bathe safely in falls water will definitely cater to kids and adults alike. With birds chirping and flitting around, u will really feel as if u r bathing in a jungle.
Coming to the Food part, I feel it's one of the best we ever had in any homestay till now. Herbal tea, Kokum juice are very refreshing. Lakshmi, who cooks here, is doing a lovely job. Breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner will leave you craving for more. The payasam especially was loved by our kid and she had numerous helpings of those. Also visit Honey park to understand the awareness that Mr. Bhat is trying to create about saving bees and nature. Ms. Pushpa's beautiful insight about the life and work of bees left us wonderstruck.
There are more words to pen, as this much isn't enough..Do visit Kadumane if you are around that area.. We will come again for sure.. Blessings for the work being done..

This was our first visit to Dandeli and based on the recommendations on Trip Advisor, we decided to stay at Kaadumane, Joida. And must say it was a very good decision. No swanky rooms, no swimming pool, no jazzy decor, this is exactly what endeared us to Kaadumane. Away from the city hustle and bustle, it was magical to experience sustainable forest stay for 2 nights and the hospitality of the owner Mr Narasimha Bhat added to our holiday charm. Kaadumane has just 5 basic ecofriendly rustic cottages but the rooms are very spacious, self-contained, clean and comfortable. The food is home cooked, healthy and hygienic starting with early morning tea, varied fare for breakfast, lunch, evening tiffin dinner topping with herbal tea and digestive concoctions (don’t miss these).
The weather in March was very hot but early mornings and evenings are very pleasant. It was a pleasure to wake up each morning to the birds chirping - natural alarm clock and we had a memorable bird watching experience at the Govt Timber Depot, Dandeli with guide Rajani Rao. We spotted many hornbills along with numerous other birds, this is the perfect destination for birding (Spend atleast 2 days if birding is your primary interest). Boating at Nagoda (conducted by the Kali Reserve forest officials) in the calm Supa River back waters to see the sunset, white water rafting in the Kali River, visit to Syntheri Rocks (you have to go down about 200 steps, avoid during afternoon, if you have limited time you can skip this), jeep safari in the Kulgi nature camp (conducted by JLR) are some activities you can plan from Kaadumane, you have to pay the respective charges but Mr Bhat will arrange for these activities depending on our interest. The Honey Park visit is an eye opener and the message ‘No Bee No We’ is very effectively conveyed. The early morning trek to the mountain top with Narasimha Bhat leading to a high cliff was a pure mesmerizing experience which we will cherish for a long time to come. We also interacted with Mr Bhat’s teenager son Dhruva, who is another naturalist in the making.
If you are a nature lover, stay at Kaadumane is highly recommended, you are bound to come back rejuvenated. As Mr Bhat himself says nature can provide you with everything that you need and keep you contented for a lifetime.

Each cottage is simple with all basic needs met. The room is large enough with a double bed and a couple of chairs with enough room for an extra bed. There is an attached bathroom and dressing area too. Built of laterite bricks, it gives an earthy feel! The rest of the property is mostly left wild which attracts a lot of birds and langurs. An area for a campfire is provided and it is lit if you want it. There is a common dining room where all meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner are arranged buffet style. Good wholesome food with one non-veg dish and one dessert. In the evening snacks are also provided with tea if you want it!
The owner Mr Narasimha Bhat is passionate about nature and takes you on a morning trek to Waga Dongur (tiger rock) in the morning, if you so wish. There is a huge cauldron of water boiling away with aromatic herbs and this water is provided if you want to have a herbal bath. This was one of the highlights of our stay.
There is a lot of birding possible nearby and we enjoyed this to the full.
On the whole, it was a lovely stay and we will definitely be back several times!

A repeat trip to Kadumane - it was like visiting my own home! Earlier two visits were solo trips but this time around it was a family trip. The place is truly a paradise : music of chirping birds and dense greenery all around . Sunbirds, drongos, flycatchers, wood peckers, bee eaters - a wide diversity of birds to see and enjoy at close quarters.
Great food, clean and hygienic rooms, refreshing herbal tea whenever needed, rejuvenating herbal baths and above all the warm welcoming attitude shown by all: David, Sreenivasan, Sudarshan, Jay and the proprietor of the place Mr. Bhat made the stay a memorable one for all of us. Visit to Dandeli has to be at Kadumane , if you are a genuine nature lover ! Thanks Kadumane !!

We family of 4 adults had visited Kadumane Homestay .We were surprised to see Mr. Narasimha Bhat himself calling us and enquiring about our travel ,location and guided us to the Homestay . Upon Arrival at the homestay ,we were greeted with welcome drink . later we were guided towards the cottages .it was like walking inside the jungle (kaadu) away from the city lifestyle .The cottages are very neat and clean with all the facilities like hotwater ,electric water kettle ,mini freezer ,fan ,wifi etc..western toilet ,walk in wardrobe separate from the bed room giving more privecy .The dining hall is a separte area away from the cottages .The kitchen staff are very friendly and serve homely pure and very delicious Veg food (Unlimited quantity !). no questions asked .Very Good Hospitality .Mr.Narasimha also helped us to plan the itinerary so that we could spend quality time visiting only the worthy places during our short stay .Mr.Narasimha Bhat also accompanied us to the short trekking ,briefing us on the place ,wild life ,bird's of interest to know .Overall the visit and stay at Kadumane was very much worth it .in short you are rest assured to have a peaceful stay away from your home .

We stayed here for 3N/4D, it was a memorable stay, especially the hospitality of the staff, Mr.Rohan, Pushpa, and Mahalakshmi. They treat us as a family and our daughter was very much taken care of.
Even before arrival, I was called to check if I would be there for lunch by Rohan and even though I was a bit late, the team served us hot lunch. Really appreciate the hospitality.
This homestay is located in a dense forest, where there is no mobile network/wifi etc..so be prepared for a total digital detox...which is what we needed. It was peace and silence...
An amazing herbal bath that relieves all the stress and tiredness at the end of the day.
Whenever you get back after a trek/birding adventure there would be someone
waiting to attend you with a smile.
Hot Kokum and Herbal tea are always available; staff is ever ready to help and serve the guests.
Mr. Narasimha took us on a trek to the tiger rock in the morning which is a mild walk through the jungle.
We were extremely happy with the stay and were sad that we had to leave this amazing place.. looking forward to coming back for more days of stay..

Stayed for 2 nights in Feb 2021,food good, herbal bath concept good, activities it's better to take ur own vehicle as autos n cabs too expensive.. Overall good, except as a single solo, you are not respected.. Despite asking for herbal tea 4 times, Sachin didn't give, whereas he served lemonade to next table guest, 4 glasses n a full bottle of it to them... So unless you prepared to be treated like this.. Founded by passionate, geninue and humble nature lover Mr Narasimha Bhat, Kadumane is not just located inside Joida's forest but it's Kadumane in true sense as the it is intact with the nature. Mr Bhat ensures to talk and walk with all the guests and his love for nature is contagious! Rohan, Anthony, Laxmi and all other staff will awe you by theri genuine warmth and care. During our two night stay, we never felt uncomfortable or unattended. The trek behind the kadumane takes you to view point which isn't just scenic but also healing. Forget about the phots/selfies just sit on the rocks and give all your senses to the forest that meets the clouds! Apart from the deliciously cooked local cusine, herbal tea, herbal & nature shower what stands out is the guidance from Mr Bhat & team to be explore the surrounding. One such suggestion was to bird watching with Rajani. A school teacher turned birder-cum-naturalist, Rajani took us a through a guided bird watching and the lucky us spotted 3 of the 4 hornbills including the flying tiger (great Indian hornbill), second smallest bird, woodpecker etc. It's not the spotting of birds but the walk with Rajani, her work, her knowledge about the environment and the surrounding will inspire you and stay with you. Alongside the birds, the bees and their contribution will take you beyond honey consumption. Aishwarya at the honeypark, founded by Mr Bhat, will make you think about starting honeypark through her excellent walkthrough and demonstration. Women like Rajani, Aishwarya and Laxmi are raising and nurturing the nature in its truest sense but may not feature in limelight compared to others.
The kulagi jungle safari is also worth a chance, if not spotting the animals but for the view point at the end that will unfold a sneak peek of 5 layer forest. Kadumane is also kinda located central to quite a few activity destinations including the safari, syntheri rocks etc and the drive to these places itself is enjoyable! Thanks to Kadumane not only for giving us memorable time but also for introducing us to people like Bhat, Rajani etc who are putting sincere efforts to keep the nature intact despite the increasing commercialising trends nd inspire people like us!!
