This bar has recently started a Northern Soul night one saturday a month and I have called in for the last couple. The night is run by Chester le St Soul club. The Lambton has a small dance floor and although I like Northern soul I only knew one song during the two hours I was there. I understand there...

We just had to have a drink here after 30 years away...We were always in here for a drink and also had our Christmas Lunch here a few times. It looks a little tired now and the furniture outside is decaying badly.. Still, it brought back happy memories of evenings like Stag Nights , Coming of age and birthdays.. Inside...

Yes, good in parts. The food is excellent and the beer prices, well just great. It has a very central location which is both good and bad. Good because everything you could want is on your doorstep, bad because it can be very noisy both late at night with passing revellers and early morning with air brakes on buses etc...

Lovely staff, good breakfast, a decent menu for evening meals if required. Lots of things on hand as it's in the high street. Durham a bus ride away. Free parking behind the pub. We stay there quite regularly when we visit family.

stayed for a few days while visiting Beamish museum and Newcastle a little dated in the decoration but must admit our room (10) was great apart from the temperamental lock on the door which required you to get the key just right to access the room clean and tidy, beds made everyday breakfast very good

I stayed here for four nights whilst watching Warwickshire take on Durham at the Emirates Durham ICG which is only about 1 mile away and a pleasant walk. Despite the name, this is primarily a pub as it only has 9 rooms. For this type of place, my room was certainly well sized, airy and reasonably appointed although you'll need...

We had a very late check in but needed to get to a wedding on the same day, they very kindly let us use the function room and toilet to get ready as my partner was a usher. They also cleaned our rooms first so that we could put our bags in the room early. The house keeper is very...

Stayed here for one Saturday night, having a trip to Beamish museum. easy to get to beamish from here. Basic but clean rooms with everything we needed, above a busy pub which was fine. Went into Durham for an evening meal, about £13 in a taxi. Pre booked the full English breakfast which was excellent quality and a good price..Friendly...

We found this hotel good value for the price we paid, yes it is a little dated ,but the rooms were clean ,sheets smelt fresh and towels were nice and soft. We had room 3 which over looked the high street, there was a disco going on beneath in the pub which did not bother us. The staff were friendly...
