The Wilderness resort is true to its spirit Located just next to the Tani Zubbar lake, this is a very well architectured resort spread out in several elevations. The resort is amidst cherry orchard. An excellently maintained property, the owners live in the premises and personally takes care of everything. Talking about the ambience, this is a place having manicured garden and lawns. The interior is also tastefully decorated with woodwork, beautiful paintings and embroidery pieces. There are 3 types of rooms: suites, family rooms and deluxe room. We opted for the deluxe rooms, which was huge, with east facing balcony overlooking the mountains with green orchards and pines and ice capped Himalayan ranges. The bathroom is equally spacious, so much so that it can easily be

Dear guest, Thank you so much for taking out time in reviewing us. Nestled in the mountains amidst an apple and cherry orchard, our property is a perfect getaway for families and friends. We have one of the most phenomenal views of the Mighty Himalayas facing on one side and the lake on the other. With Cedar woods surrounding the entire property, we are truly blessed to have inherited such a place. Thank you for appreciating us over the rooms, they are designed by keeping in mind the view and locale. All our rooms are spacious and have a king size bed along with a single bed attached to it. They are balconies with view of the valley and clear skies in all rooms. The entire architecture and interior of the property is an amalgamation of Himachali and colonial architecture, personally done up by the owers. Our loved cook leaves no corner unturned in adding a delicious flavour to the food. Keeping in mind the theme of the property 'a home away from home', the food is kept as homely and authentic as it could be. I am extremely grateful to your for highlighting each and every detail of the property. It is because of guests like you who understand the essence of The Wilderness that we are able to give our best and deliver beautiful experiences. The team and I would love to invite you again for the winter season as it is a completely different experience in snow. You could contact me on the number mentioned below while planning your visit to us. I shall be personally taking care of your sojourn and making it a memorable one Once again I express my heartiest gratitude to you for providing such a valuable feedback. I was looking for some off-beat locations for our trip to Himachal Pradesh and just happened to come across this place by chance. The management (read: the owners) was gracious enough to accommodate all my requests and suggested family suites for our stay. The rooms were just as I had seen in the photos. They were large with abundant sunlight. The view from the balcony as well as the dining room terrace was fabulous. We spent hours admiring the view as well as cherry trees and a variety of roses. The approach to our room itself was very beautiful. The personal touch of the owners is evident in all decorative items. In fact, we were so happy with the resort that we canceled our plans for sightseeing of Narkanda just to enjoy the ambiance. Nevertheless, we took a stroll around

I was there at the Wilderness from the 3rd to the 5th of June along with my Father Mother and brother. I have no words to describe the fantastic stay we had at the Wilderness. The level of attention provided by your entire team was exceptional. The room was spacious neat and clean with excellent views of the Himalayas. All the meals we had were delicious. The menu was changed each day so we never had a chance to get bored. One of the best stay I had with my family. The Wilderness is located in an apple orchard and the cherry trees, overlooking snow capped mountains meadows and cedar forest ..... quiet place with all required amenities and staff is hospitable, prompt with a smile. Would certainly like to visit again and again.

I've had my life's most delicious food here. I thought that I came to visit the hill station but I ended up relishing the food they offered in every meal. I always expect ordinary food in hotels but it was exception here. I am a 'ghar ka khana' girl so I ordered Indian normal food. But as I was there for 3 days so I also tried Mughlai, continental and some other cuisine which I don't remember. The chef knows his art really! Apart from the food, the resort is beautiful- very warm with the homely touch. Rooms are big and spacious with comfortable beds and big bathrooms. The view from the rooms shows you the hard work put into the orchards of Narkanda, the beautiful and snow-clad uninhabited hills with the sun setting it's rays just at the right spot.. Well, every room

Dear guest, Thank you so much for taking out time in reviewing us. Nestled in the himalayas with beautiful natural surroundings we are extremely happy to know you had a delightful yet satisfactory experience with us. It gives us immense pride and pleasure in reading your review. Our dearest head chef is someone who always takes an extra effort in providing an authentic and homely taste to the food. He leaves every corner unturned and makes sure every guest relishes the food. I shall surely pass your encouraging words to him. Thank you for appreciating us over the rooms. They are specially designed by keeping in mind the view and locale. All rooms are tastefully done and specific in style which gives a rustic look to them. Being ideally located amidst an apple and cherry orchard along with the view of the mighty Himalayas, there are Cedar woods surrounding the entire property. Treks and trails could be taken leading to nearby orchards and hamlets. We also have the famous Naag Devta temple adjoining the lake which is quite a tourist attraction. The staff remains our most valuable asset. I shall definitely pass your words of appreciation to them and the owner. They would be encouraged and happy to know so. With deep gratitude and regard I would like to invite you on behalf of the team for the coming winter season which completely has a different charm to the place. You could contact me on the number mentioned below while planning your visit. I would personally taking care of your sojourn with us. Booked almost entire resort except 3 rooms. Property has good view and location but staff and owners lack hospitality. - In a group of 30 people with 10 small kids as a hotel owner you should expect some noise and ruckus by the kids. Hotel owners and staff were rude with kids on more then one occassion. - Restaurant staff was always in hurry and asked us to finish our food in 20-25 min as they hav to prepare next meal. Again a big let down - Geysers of half of the rooms were not working. - Restaurant staff approached us in our room at 11:00 and asked us very rudely not to talk as they are sleeping in the adjoining room. Paying 10000 per night to share your room walls with hotel staff who have no courtesy and sense of time before disturbing their guests. Resort is a big no no

Hi. The wilderness response on this issue have already been addressed to the negative review by the other member of this group on Tripadvisor. First of all wilderness is a family oriented resort run by a local apple orchardist family who have utmost respect for our esteemed guests and especially kids. And yes we being a boutique resort do expect a certain decorum from our guests and certainly in maintaining so we can never be rude. Our staff does not sleep next to our guests rooms as they have their own quarters far away and yes they will be asked to go to guests rooms when there would be objections from other guests for loud noise's after midnight. Well as for the water geysers they are all work very well and to get reheated, it takes time and so one has to wait a bit for a next person to take a shower. And for the staff asking to finish lunch at 4 pm is no issue as the kitchen has to start preparations for dinner and evening snacks. But here I would like to make it very clear for people who do not understand the concept of being in wilderness and not enjoy the nature the quietness the the very fact of holidaying in pristine interior of Himalaya's to please avoid a place like wilderness and not make it embarrassing for everyone. Thank you.

Wilderness is a good resort in a secluded place. The location is excellent- just above Tani Jabbar lake, view of snow peaks, midst of Apple and cherry orchards. If you luv walking, you have plenty of options around. Probably best location in Narkanda. Wilderness is a reasonably maintained resort and is operated by owner family. Owners were always around and you can have good conversations. They are flexible and accommodating . You are allowed to eat as much cherries as you can. Resort has lot of cherry trees and variety of roses. Service is not so great but you will survive- just keep your expectations in check. But food spread was always good and quality is good as well. Though non veg options were not so good. I would recommend family vacation if you are planning to go to

Dear guest, Thank you so much for your taking out time in reviewing us. Nestled in the lap of nature with the Himalayan range face the property and the lake surrounding it, The Wilderness is an ideal escape from the madness of the city life. There are beautiful trails running through the apple and cherry orchards which get you closer to nature. Thank you for appreciating over the maintenance, I shall certainly be passing your kind words to the owners. We truly feel blessed to be located amidst an apple and Cherry orchard which gives the guests a local experience of apple/ cherry plucking. I shall be taking into consideration the service and make sure it is more seamless. With staying true to our concept of ' a home away from home' our head chef makes sure the food remains homely and tasteful. It is regretful to know that you dint relish the food quality as this isn't our general concern. The head chef would look into this personally and make the required changes. As a growing property, feedback from our guests remains essential and acts as an impetus for introspection and improvement. Thank you for letting us know so that we can do the following amendments. You can also speak or write to me in person as well towards your stay with us. My deepest gratitude to you for recommending us to families looking for holiday destinations in the hills. this is a good place for a family to laze out in the middle of a pristine beautiful nature at about 7000 feet about sea level. There is a lake nearby to walk around. the food and hospitality is very good. The owner himself is around at all time to chat with you as well as to keep an eye on the finer points of the location. Place is very well maintained. The rooms are pretty big and orderly. What was surprising was the size of the washrooms - clean and neat - but very big.. not normally seen in a hotel. We enjoyed the 2 days highly recommended for those who are looking for rest and want to spend idle time in the midst of nature.
