We visited mahasu house in September, with my parents, grandparents & our dog! It was a lovely stay. Loved the beautiful property. The staff was very warm and polite. It felt like home :). Can’t wait to get back for another relaxing weekend there. We traveled as it was my father’s birthday & my birthday. They sent a complimentary cake as well to our room and made the celebrations even more special. Also, the entire property was frequently sanitised, the rooms on a daily basis too. Temperature checks were twice a day & everyone took precautions. Would highly recommend Mahasu House to everyone who wants to travel to a beautiful, safe and yet a luxury boutique hotel. Thank you so much Anil Uncle & Amanat!

Stayed at Mahasuhouse From 4th Jan to 9thjan was extremely lucky to witness the whole place turn into a winter wonderland. The whole place received possibly the heaviest snowfall after many years . Anil Walia the gracious host along with his team did an amazing job of running the whole place with zero glitch when the neighbouring hotel had told its guests to leave as they had run out of fuel and food , Anil Walia ensured all of us not only had our food supplied and served kept the heating system. Going in -8 temperature . Everything was planned actually Anil Walia went out of his way to stay back in the hotel when things went difficult it was a full hotel with kids seniors and family. I saw him sacrificing the comfort of his villa to save diesel so guests could get heating system longer till diesel arrived , he slept in the drawing room of the hotel hats of to you a true spirit to serve and this value he has given to his entire staff. On departure he personally directed and helped every guest to drive out of the winter wonderland my gratitude to you and to your every staff. Attaching some images. . If you have not visited this hotel do visit will rate it in my favourite places to stay . The food served each day is served with lot of love the rooms are beautiful go for the corner room

Mahasu house has the most beautifully done up interiors in wood reminiscing the English cottages . The library . Kids play area at the attic , play room , beautifully manicured garden and deck overlooking the panoramic view of the mountains was mesmerizing . The staff led by Lalit were the most hospitable providing us every thing to make our trip super comfortable . Food was very healthy and delicious too . We were lucky to have the Conpany of the owner Mr. Walia during our stay . He took us for strawberry picking , showed us the treks and at dusk we would have a good gupshup session .
We enjoyed the game of croquet and the meditation room too .
It truly deserves “ The Hall of Fame “ status bestowed by trip advisor . We just discovered a place we know we will visit frequently .

Our month long stay in Himachal, to be away from this pandemic ended with a cherry on top with our last three days stay at The Mahasu house. The warm, cozy, elegant set up and the amazing view from this place was so enticing that coming back to city life was rueful.
Food served was of very good taste, ample outdoor sitting with gazebos, Barbeque , bonfire added such fun quotient to our stay.
Mr Walia, the owners presence , made us feel even more at home and got to visit the unexplored areas in n around mashobra, which as normal tourists would have never been able to.
Fresh n variety of fruits served during breakfast was not only delectable but so refreshing. Have to visit this place during snow time as well. Would recommend this place highly to everyone visiting Mashobra!

This review has been long pending. We visited in Sep 2019, and were completely blown away with the beautiful property, calm and serene surroundings and the excellent staff.. and of course I can't not mention Lalit. He was omnipresent.. :) and took very good care of us. We were practically the only guests when we stayed there and while in some hotels that might mean tardy service.. that wasn't the case here. We were thoroughly spoiled and our food requests were happily catered to and they made it a point to go one step ahead. My compliments to the cook too, who made great food. We had all our meals there and didn't for one moment get bored.

If you're looking for a quiet peaceful time to truly unwind... and enjoy silence and serenity.. this is the place. Can't wait to go back again!

Situated in Mashobra, Mahasu House is a a perfect place away from the hustle bustle of Shimla. A not so small well planned property, it has 7 rooms and 3 cottages. The rooms are nice and comfortable. There is a lot of open space in the property with colorful magnificent flowers specially hydrangeas all around. For the convenience and interests of the guests the buffet is laid at different levels- each better than the other. The food is very tasty and the menu well planned. The owners Anil & Tina Walia are very helpful and friendly. They take a keen interest in planning the itinerary of their guests & go out of their way to make each guest very comfortable. The drawing room is a cozy place with lots of books to read. The staff is extremely courteous and polite. The property is animal friendly. If you are keen on spending quality time with family- this will be an ideal choice. One can go for long walks around the property. Some incredible trails and hiking around this area. Nature at its best!!

A long search for a cosy place landed us at Mahasu house in Mashobra. Nestled in the lap of nature, this is definitely a home away from home. Huge, spacious rooms with heaters and all that one can require for a comfortable stay has been provided. The local complimentary wine was a wonderful way to start our stay here. The meals were very tasty and piping hot, despite the temperature dipping to 1-2 degrees. The breakfast served at the patio under the winter sun amongst the chirping of the birds was memorable and hopefully we can repeat it again. The trek to the view point was splendid and we enjoyed every minute here. Wishing the team of Mahasu house a wonderful year ahead. And Amanat, thank you for the hospitality. Best wishes.

Fabulous boutique hotel, fantastic staff, our loft room was charming and spacious and the hosts Anil Walia and his daughter Mannat could not have been more welcoming or considerate.
They helped us get comfortable during record snowstorms and were constantly available and solicitous. It was hill hospitality at its finest .

Visited this place just before Diwali.
Situated in Mashobra - about half an hour from Shimla, it’s a Beautiful property with spacious cottages.
The staff was extremely courteous and helpful and the food was surprisingly delicious.
We chose this property because of it being pet friendly and my golden retriever had a blast in their open areas and the lawn.
Would visit again and would recommend for others to visit.
