WelcomHeritage Sheikhpura Kothi is a little French chateau & is indeed a world apart. It is a over a 150 year old property in Hansi, Haryana, in the territory of the legendary and whimsical British Colonel James Skinner who belonged to the British Indian Army. The Kothi is a repository of history & folklore and this majestic structure surrounded by lush green lawns exudes both charm and hauteur.

* It is one of the oldest heritage residence of a British officer, constructed with French architecture. * The kothi is situated in the middle of the lush green forest. * The grand verandahs, pillars & antique artefacts invite guests to experience the centuries old heritage. * They offer 4-5 rooms (deluxe+suites). * The windows, ceilings, antique lamps, fans, furniture gives a good vibe to the whole property. * The big outdoor swimming pool is the best to spend your vacation at leisure. * The staff is so courteous & polite. * You will feel like in your own home due to the comfort they offer there.

The hotel is stunningly beautiful especially as we have nothing like it in Australia where we come from, however the manager is in need of training in ‘people skills’. He was rude and condescending to our driver who, when he was asking about driver accommodation, had the front door shut in his face. When I asked the cost of a room so I could pay for it the manager smugly said that it wasn’t my problem where the driver slept but that it was our travel agent’s problem. He did not realise that our travel agent is from Delhi and is a personal friend who has visited our home when he was in Australia. This is my second trip in India in 12 months, booked through our travel agent and with our driver who I also consider to be a good friend. I did not appreciate the manager’s rudeness especially as he was very ingratiating to me. I advised our agent of this man’s rude manner. With a different manager this would have been an outstanding visit.

Nice property for a weekend peaceful getaway.. It felt so at home! Clean and fully maintained property with lovely staff. Take care to place order of food well in advance since they have a private run kitchen and need time to prepare.. Also, there should be more billboards on the way for better navigation! All and all very good vacation!!

So close to Delhi and yet far away from the crowds and city life . The prefect get away with beautiful spacious rooms and the most comfortable beds . The lovely gardens and the relaxing poolside just rejuvenate your overworked minds and bodies .. clear blue skies and miles and miles of farms and nature . Treat to the eyes and food for the soul. The mention of food makes me want to mention the yummy yummy home cooked meals by the fabulous chef Bhawani. The most hospitable owners happened to be there which only added to the charm .. very well maintained property .. A must visit !
