Detailed Reviews
The cost of room is quite reasonable and the rooms are ok. But better than the most in vicinity.
Make sure to carry your toileteries because at times they forget to replenish.
Food is really good and hygenic... I was surprised at decent Chinese cusine been served as I was expecting it to be disaster. Even south Indian cusine like dosa's was good.
In all an decent place to stay, but nothing overboard about it.

Room Tip: Try to take Super Deluxe and other upward rooms, as Deluxe rooms are not up to the mark.

This hotel is located on the highway... Ideal Location. However - It looks that it would be very disturbing as its on the highway - but once you enter the hotel you hardly listen any horn or traffic noise. Not a very good view from the window but ideally priced with a 24 hour check-out facility. The restauarant and room service are good. The food has an excellent taste for the Jains. Good for a small break if you are travelling to long distances.

The small city of Palanpur in Northern Gujarat doesn't have much in the way of obvious tourist attactions, and one it does have - a stepwell - is in a state of disrepair and strewn with rubbish. So, unlike neighbouring Patan, you don't come for historic sites. On the other hand, it is a vibrant and very welcoming town, with a lively market, and a lovely clean boulevard. It is also a very good base for exploring several Nature Reserves, each within a 60 km. radius.
The Hotel Cappal is a good, inexpensive base. It is located opposite 2 other hotels near a busy intersection, but despite the traffic nearby, is a quiet haven. Whilst first impressions are that the hotel's rooms are somewhat spartan, this is because they are very spacious. The rooms are kept immaculately clean, there is good wardrobe space, the bed is comfortable, and the air-conditioning and fan work well. There are plenty of power-points - not always the case in hotels - and good lighting. The en-suite bathroom is adequate, with a good shower with hot water, and a very good toilet. The television gives access to many channels.
I booked what is described as a 'Super-Deluxe' room, and while hotels, I guess, can call their rooms whatever they like, there were a few small improvements I felt which could easily and profitably be made to bring the room I had in this category a little closer to my idea of this description:
• repaint the room. At present, the room I had was a bit scruffy
• install a shower curtain. I have made this observation about several hotels in which I stayed in Gujarat. The shower in the en-suite, when in use, really did cover everything in water, including the toilet.
• repair the refrigerator installed in the room, or remove it.
These minor things aside, this hotel is very good value-for-money. The staff are most obliging. The reception staff went out of their way to assist me, were always friendly, and have between them sufficient English to communicate with this non-Gujarati-speaking traveller. They assisted me with internet access, suggested appropriate fares for rickshaw rides, organised taxis to take me to the Nature Reserves mentioned above.
The restaurant located opposite the reception area serves really excellent fare, and is much frequented by locals. It is available for both lunch and dinner. It also provides room service, at no additional cost.

I have not stayed at Cappal; but we had a meeting of a few Gujarati ( local language) poets in its conference room - kindly arranged by its owners - Mr. Vali and Akbar Musa. Their hospitality was marvelous.
Just one example -
During the meeting, I expressed my great respect for a local Gujarati poet - 'Shoonya' Palanpuri and felt sorry that I could not buy any of his poetry books from Ahmedabad market - a far bigger city for buying such books.
Then we went downstairs for dinner. After the dinner was over, Mr. Vali Musa gave me a present - wrapped in nice wrapper.
When I opened the wrapper, lo! it was ....Complete works of 'Shoonya' Palanpuri'!!
Hats off to their prompt response and resourcefulness.
---
No doubt the food was excellent too. I was surprised to see a large crowd customers waiting for getting a place in the dining hall. It spoke a lot about the popularity of the place.

Stayed here a couple of times once in Dec, 2015 and Feb 2016 respectively. If i had to describe this hotel in one word it would be - Resonability. Rooms are decently priced with A/c rooms ranging from Rs. 750/- to 1250/- for single/double occupancy. Room Availability is fairly more than counterparts considering its size. The highlight of the hotel is food which is comparatively good but expensive (food as a whole in town is expensive considering they are highway hotels). Rooms were standard and decent during both of my stays but one common problem was leaky taps across the rooms i stayed (which involved switching rooms a couple of times but same problem was there). Room service was not upto the mark with breakfast taking 90 minutes to reach whereas the same item took less than 10 minutes to get served when ordered from the restaurant. Also the hotel has very limited parking space (only 5 cars) which might be a deal breaker (i had my own car when i checked in and there's hardly any space even outside the premise because of it's location) for some people especially folks who came in there own vehicle or private vehicle.
All in all good option for Business, Budget and Family Travelers but nothing fancy or special about the place.

Been here for a couple of times, place offers great food along with a low lighted relaxing ambience. Place is a good pick for one who wants to have good conversation and delicious food. Icecream slabs are quite an attraction. Hotel offers parking facility so overall hotel offers you value for money.

Creepy and scary. The place looks like it used to be a lavish one at some point in history. Sadly they haven't moved on.
The alleys, lift, rooms, bathrooms.. All need renovation. I mean which bathroom has cobwebs, bird feathers!!
One of the scariest places I have stayed ever. I had a royal suite. The room was super big, but the sad part is that it wasn't maintained properly.
The only saving grace was a neat and clean white towel. That was a big sense of relief.
May not come back ever to सत्य with them.
