We don't expect much comfort at this Award, but a minimum...
Tiny room, bathroom in the cabrio room a scam... No towel.
An unlimited breakfast... Do not pay 4.90 for a coffee machine that does not work and a jar of Nutella shared by everyone.
Never again.

Do not stop at this hotel: nightmarish night with non-stop noise and fire alarm going off at 3 a.m.! Plus shared toilets and showers, and we're still looking for towels... So we're back on the road!

We were looking for a Cheap Pension to spend the night during our trip. My sister not wanting to spend much offers me this F1, I reluctantly accept.
We arrive around 9pm, state of the room: clean; already a good point.
The room is tiny and the toilets and showers are located on the landing (which is not indicated anywhere on the ad). Not knowing F1 I did not know.
Suddenly the desire to go to the toilet took me, that she was not surprised when she discovered not one step two but three blocked toilets. I went to see the reception staff who told me to do it: Two hours later, same thing. I had to hold back because it was so dirty. Again it is not the fault of the staff but rather of poorly educated people.
We spent the night suffocating in a cagibi. I felt like Harry Potter under the stairs. The drop of water that overflows the vase: a maid opens the door while you sleep. I quote “you have to put up a sign otherwise you open” again I do not spend my life in Inn but it seems that you knock before entering.
The AC is indeed present but makes the noise of a washing machine in spin-drying mode.
Anyway, first and last time I say yes to save 20 bucks.

You get what you pay for with F1 hotels. They are cheap (35e for 2), cookie cutter, no frills hotels that are always near a freeway or motorway but are perfectly fine for 1 night when your passing through.
Unfortunately, on the night we stayed, the mercury had hovered around the high 30s all day and did not drop in the evening. There was no aircon (strange - other F1s have had aircon??) and the building is basically a concrete block facing West and as the sun sets so late at this time of the year, it was like being in an oven in the room. This explained why half the hotel was sitting in the carpark (yes, some people had even set up camping chairs and tables on the bare tarmac to get out of the heat of ther rooms)
The hotel was fine but honestly, couldn't they upgrade the rooms like they have done at other F1s where you pay the same price? Internet was also expensive and is often free at other F1s. It's like they have forgotten that the Brive hotel exists. Adequate at best.

Good location close to motorway and large Carrefour. However this also means the road noise is noticeable. Easy to find with free parking and cheap breakfast - although this doesn’t give you much choice or healthy options but at 3€50 what do you want. Usual F1 set up re rooms, showers and toilets (ie not en suite). Some staff very helpful while others quite surly. Rooms small but ok - beds quite comfortable for a night. Ours had a musty smell to it. Plenty of outside seating/tables. No towels/soap in rooms though. For the money you can’t complain - you can eat at the Mercure next door or a pizza place up the road both within walking distance. OK for road trip stays.

Even though we've had little expectation for paying 38€ for a room for two (three even, with the upper bed) and 3,5€ each for breakfast, F1 did not do anything to exceed expectation.
We were lucky enough to get the last room available at 21:35, but ended up in a smokers room which had not been painted for quite some time.
The bed is !litterally! nothing more than a thin matras on a wooden board, but it beats sleeping in the car.
Toilets and showers in the hallway are decorated like on a ship. Optically clean but intense smells of urine.
Breakfast is simple but ok. The only downside to breakfast is the immensely grose coffee from the machine.
Financially it was a bargain, but perhaps on our way back home we try another budget option.

Clean, comfortable beds, washbasin TVs in room. Clean and efficient shower and toilet facilities . 3.50 euros for breakfast. Dogs allowed. Secure parking . Family run restaurant across the road. Fishing lake to walk around. Friendly staff. What's not to like?

We arrived early afternoon and had to book our selfs in, easy to do, but didn't get a choice of room, we ended up on the ground floor and someone had smoked in it. Later on we returned to the hotel and someone was on the counter, I was then able to move upstairs to a nicer, quieter room.

We had prebooked our one night stay in advance and had arrived late to find reception closed. We entered the code that was supposed to unlock the door, but nothing happened. It was only because another guest was leaving the premises that we were able to gain entry, so if arriving late, be warned.
We knew F1 is a budget chain, but we were unprepared for people smoking inside the hotel, with cigarette butts and ash littering the toilets - the showers were horrible and we refused to use them -- dirty and held together with limescale. Contrary to F1's advertising, the toilets and the showers are not a "few steps from your room", they are a long walk down to the bottom of the corridor.
The bedroom was basic, and looked nothing like the crisp, clean, white photo's on F1's website, and in short, it was pretty grim. The only positive was that the soundproofing worked well and the bed comfortable enough, but there wasn't enough bedding, and one sheet doubled up as two.
We had also pre-paid for breakfast, and when we got there we were greeted by three slices of bread and a quarter of a baguette, and that was it. The lady on reception showed no signs of replenishing anything, so we didn't hang around and left.
My advice? Pay an extra few Euros and head to the hotel next door.
