I'm hesitating in giving a 5*, and my personal feeling is this should be 5*, but it would not be fair. The hotel has 5 rooms, and it is a real old castle whihc is renovated with lots of love, perfection. Clean. Personal service from the owner carrying our luggage. I felt better than in lots of 5* hotels, but...

What a pleasure it was to stay in this Chateau for the evening after driving the Champagne route all day enjoying the countryside and vineyards. We loved stepping back in time and enjoying "life at the Chateau". Our room was very comfortable with excellent Wifi. The bathroom was modern and roomy. We love the towel warmers! We were fortunate to...

I had a great dinner at the Chateau de la Marjolaine. It is a beautifully renovated mansion offering a few rooms as B&B. There is also a restaurant and a Champagne bar. I came here with a friend for dinner. The Champagne list is very interesting and only features products from local wine makers. The food was tasty and fresh....

We stayed overnight as 2 couples en route to Switzerland - we wanted to visit the memorial at Belleau Wood before travelling on. Jean Pierre at the Chateau was extremely welcoming and made us feel at home from the minute we drove in through the narrow entrance. The Chateau is still 'work in progress' and has limited accommodation but this...

Chateau de la Marjolaine is a lovely inn just outside Chateau-Thierry. I loved my second-floor room, which had beautiful cornice work, a charming sitting room, and a modern shower. The food was absolutely wonderful. Essomes Sur Marne is in the Champagne region, so many of the dishes featured champagne as an ingredient. Jean-Pierre was the perfect host. I can't say...

We loved this hotel. It is a converted Chateau that years ago was used as a hunting lodge for Parisians. Now, it is a lovely French inn. Pierre, who is the owner, is warm and accommodating. The breakfasts are typically French, with a nice assortment of breads, croissant, cereal, coffee, juice, etc. The restaurant also serves dinner, and we ate there all...

How good it was after 7 hours' drive from Italy, to reach the Château. The house is pretty rather than grand, rather like being in a large doll's house with decor, furniture and garden to match. We were greeted by Jean-Pierre who chatted in the garden, waited on us at dinner and served breakfast as well, in each case in...

On a recent WWI trip our last two nights were here so as to be close to Chateau Thierry and Belleau Wood. The property is a little out in the country but right on the Marne River. While one could walk into town, it's about 5K so really a car is advisable to get to restaurants and the various sites....

Wonderful property just steps away from the river Marne. Warm, welcoming hosts and clean rooms. We stayed on the ground floor Jasmine Room. No complaints but just be aware that this room is right next to the entrance for the property (there are curtains for privacy). The breakfast is very filling and we had a wonderful 5-course dinner one night....

Stayed 2 nights and we were very well looked after from the moment we arrived. Had dinner in the beautiful dining room on our own the first evening, we were made to feel like VIP's from the first sip of champagne (from the local Champagne House) right through to dessert, each course was a delightful surprise as there are no...
