The 50 minute ferry ride on the 'Ko Kut Express' from Laem Sok pier is lovely and I recommend staying out on deck to watch the ocean environment. You can reach the pier with a taxi (two-seater pick-up) ride from the town of Trat. Ferry costs THB350 per person. Taxi approx THB120. There is another more expensive catamaran (THB800) that also stops at Koh Mak en route - and is therefore a longer trip - about 90 mins. Book in both in advance and your respective taxi picks you up from town. The organisation of the taxis once at the Koh Kood ferry was excellent. Just let the girl know where you are staying and she'll direct you to the relevant taxi. So, to the resort of Ao Noi: Over two days and three nights I booked into this large beachside resort for my birthday. We were the

I cannot rate this place higher than average, because the accomodation is too simple for the price. The fan room(with cold shower, 1500B) might be around 500B if it's in Koh Phanghan or Koh Phayam. Having said that, I rather liked this place much. Even the people who hate this place would admit the situation is simply gorgeous. This is where all 5 star resorts would envy. Remember, Koh Kood is one of the most beautiful island in Thailand and here is one of the most beautiful place in Koh Kood. Dazzling white beach with aquamarine water, two wooden piers, dense jungle and countless coconut trees. Just like your imaginary tropical beach comes true. The bungalows are simple and rustic, but clean and adequate. The price is rather high, but maybe this is the cheapest option which has

just what I was looking for, simple quiet peaceful rustic resort, beautiful beach, crystal clear water, staff was great, food was awesome, they feed you 4 times a day family style--lots of fresh seafood there was a daily activity--ride to center of island and hike to waterfall and swimming hole one day, another day was a speed boat ride to another island for snorkeling and picnic lunch on the beach, thanks to a couple of locals that went along we got to see and hold a cushion star fish and a sea cucumber, fun to feed the fish by hand (take bread or rice) arranged this trip with a tour guide in Pattaya, hired a van to Trat, the package included speed boat to and from island, very nice room, food and activities were all included, had to pay for a couple of beers that were very

Aow Noi Resort is located on a beautiful beach on Koh Kood. That is where my positive comment ends. I highly recommend that you look elsewhere... there are plenty of resorts/guesthouss on the island that are far cheaper, cleaner, better accommodating, more facilities etc. We stayed in peak season and expected that the price would be high (1,800A/C room / night) however, for that amount of money, I expected ALOT more! - bed and pillows rock solid - pitiful breakfast - huts falling apart - a piece of wood fell off above the bathroom door / holes in the walls - room swarming with mosquitoes - a rat! Woke up and a rat had bitten into our soap! - cold shower - air conditioning limited to 25degrees and only worked in the evenings and early mornings. - aircondioned rooms further

Very nice resort. The best huts is near the beach and have only fans. You dont need the huts with aircondition. The food is ok if you like thai seafood. The beach is maybe the best beach i have ever seen. Crystal clear water and powder sand. Try snorkeling near the big stones and see many nice fish! Dream Place!

We stayed here for 2 nights to explore Ko Kood. The scenery is amazing at the resort. It has a perfect beach and the huts are very attractive. We stayed in a fan bungalow which had a full sea view. Nice balcony to sit on and relax. We found the staff helpful but they didnt speak much English. The give you lots of free bottles of water- when they clean your room, for breakfast. The hut inside was nice, quite big. You can easily walk to the other resorts and a sunset bar through a forest path for 10-15 mins. At night its a bit more difficult, but theres nothing in the way of nightlife on ko kood anyway. You can hire motorbikes from the resort which we did, great way to see all the sights and beaches on the island. The sheets had what looked like a blood stain on and the first

The beach is lovely and the resort is very attractive with lots of lovely plants and trees. The manager - the Queen of all she surveys - speaks quite good English and runs a very tight ship. The rest of the young staff seemed to enjoy watching TV more than serving! We stayed in a fan bungalow which was quite large, clean, well-constructed and comfortable with a view to the ocean. Ao Noi don't have a web-site so booking agencies charge 1,400 baht and I discovered the walk-in price would be 1,500. This was my only quibble. We were in a fan bungalow with a cold water shower so the accommodation itself was not worth the money. The "American breakfast" provided is so-so. However, you do get a lovely beach which never had more than 20 people on it (including the annoying photo taking

The resort itself is beautifull. The little houses are nice and the beach is stunning. We stayed in a beach front bungalow with airco. This was a more expensive choice than the fanbungalows. However, they were more closer to the beach. Also the sight to te beach from our bungalow was not good at all because there were many trees before it. Then, the bungalow was discusting. There were dead flies in de bathroom in de sink and on the floor, there were stains on the bedsheets en the towels, and a dead gekko on the floor. Discusting. We checked out the other day and we told the manager why. She gave us 2000 bath the other morning and didnt say anything or looked us in the eyes. The food is also discusting

Ao Noi was stunning. The resort has a private beach and pier which is wonderful day and night. Some people negatively mention the rocks on the beach, but we think this is a positive as it brings lots of little fish into very shallow water which you can see from just standing up! The staff gave us a warm welcome, and the restaurant food was delicious. American style breakfast was not to our taste, but other guests seemed to enjoy it. We had a fan bungalow right by the beach, which does take a little getting used to - especially with all the jungle critter sounds that surround you - but we found it overall to be pleasant and quite an adventure. Staff booked our boat leaving Kod Kood for us, and helped us to organise a moped for hire - which by the way is a must! Would
