Hotel Panchsheel is located within walking distance to the Margao market and Municipal garden. The hotel is well connected as there are regular buses running between the Margao bus station and Municipal garden which is around 0.5km from the hotel. There are quite a few restaurants and places to eat in this area, Hotel Kamat is a very good option for vegetarians. We had booked a non-AC room which was spacious and decently furnished with a TV, a coffee table, a dressing table, two chairs, wardrobe etc. The bathroom was tidy with hot water (typically available 6am to 9am or so), however you might not get running hot water if you shower at odd times as it is centralised. The hotel staff were quite helpful and friendly. Breakfast was complementary which was offered between 8:30am and 9:30am. This can be a problem if you want to start your day early. However we requested one of the hotel staff (Mr Alan) for an early breakfast on one of the days and he arranged some bread, butter and jam for us. They allow early check-in if rooms are available, however they expect your check-out time to be early as well. There is a mosque in the next lane where the morning prayer is offered around 6am and broadcast over a PA system for a few minutes, which can be disturbing if you are a light sleeper. Hotel offers vehicles for rent and can even arrange day tours. We rented a two-wheeler for Rs 300 a day (morning to evening). Overall a good budget hotel.

We stayed here for one night before catching a train to Kerala the next morning. It was close to the station, very clean and inexpensive, so it provided what we were after. That said, I wouldn't have wanted to stay any longer. The service was awkward and the rooms are lit like a hospital operating theatre.

the hotel was good, only cold refrigerated water was not available at night.
A gentle advise to all the new members going here..... please do not book the cab that the hotel provides named SHANTI DE TRAVELS as they dont have good cars, not maintained, drivers are very rude, would overcharge you, dont have manners, would charge for parking extra which is included, would not take you to all the points. this cab sucks,,,..... If u really want to book a cab and visit goa contact GOA DARSHA CAB- MUKUND-8796719271....ABSOLUTELY DECENT, NEAT CAB.

Stayed there for almost 2 weeks in May 2014 due to one of my family member being admitted to apollo hospital thats nearby. So in a way it was not at all a pleasure trip to Goa for me, as I had travelled all the way from Melbourne via Mumbai to Goa. But hotel was very close so I had booked this one. Rooms were clean, breakfast/food was fresh. Owner/staff was courteous enough to understand my situation so they did not hike the room tariff, when I extended my booking by few days. Thank you guys.

PS-Tripadvisor did not allow to write review for a visit that was made more than year back, so had to mention in “Month Visited” as June 2019 🙂

I had the misfortune of staying in Hotel Panchsheel near Madgaon in South Goa. I have seen good hotels, I have seen bad hotels and I have seen average hotels but this hotel should come in the category of worst hotels.
I had booked their most expensive air-conditioned suite and this is what I got:
The ants were crawling all over the floor near the door. Their bed lights, bathroom lights and mirror lights were not working at all. Phone was dead. Regulator of their fan was not working. There was no cleanliness and no one would come to even sweep the floors till you complained to the reception. There was no room service since the phone was not working. Mind you, phones of more than 50% of the rooms were not working and the guests had to shout their orders standing at the passage. The funny thing is my passage light was also not working.
I stayed there for three days and drinking water was not provided or changed even once. The staff seemed least bothered about their guests and were totally indifferent. I had to carry my luggage myself both while checking in and checking out. On top of it on the last day there was no water supply at all and I could not even take bath.
I got all this despite booking their most expensive room. I shudder to think what treatment the ordinary guests would get

Hi All,
I was at this hotel from 4pm, 31st Dec-14 to 1 pm, 3rd Jan-2015. Hotel is ok ok. The normal tariff is INR 1200 for A/C and INR 1100 for Non A/C Double Occupancy. But these hotel booking sites ask for 2K, 3K and so on.
Ok, Now why I rated so bad to this hotel. I asked them to arrange a Bike for me, they contacted one person and gave me bike for 3 Days at a rate of 800 per day, as it was new year time rate were high, thats fine, I paid 2400. The last day, when I was checking out, they asked me to pay bike rent for one more day. I took the bike on 31st at 5 PM, I handed over it to them on 3rd at 1PM. They were behind me to pay 800 more. I had a train and I was getting late. They were not at all professional, somehow they agree on 200 after lots of drama and then allowed me to go. This was really a very bad experience. We go to some hotel trusting that they will be helpful to the customer, who are new to that place and if they do like this, it really break our trust and we should avoid these hotels and aware others.

Please take your call very carefully if you don't want to spoil your holidays.

I was with my family and went to Goa. While returning I wanted to get Konkan railway from Madgaon. This hotel is close to railway station (around 1.5 km) and can be walked down with less luggage. We approached the hotel from Madgaon municipal building where bus leaves you as last stop. We had to inquire a lot to get the hotel. Interestingly there are few bikes available who can drop you at your destination just like rickshaw.
The hotel is having nice lobby and multistory building. We checked in the room. It was very nice to see large window where from we could see longer distance, lush green mango trees, listen whistles of railway engines etc. The room was quite bigger and neat & clean. The bed, TV were of good quality & taste. Many times I see very smaller TV sets in budget hotels (especially in Delhi) However here TV was bigger & good picture quality. Toilet / bathroom also good and clean.
Later we went out for walk in evening. There is nice children park near municipal corporation. Our kid enjoyed playing different games there. After some time, we experienced some heavy rain showers also. We also had some shopping on foot path hawkers nearby. We had to take auto to get to the hotel as lights were off after heavy rain. Thankfully hotel had genset working. We freshed and went to adjoining restaurant which is there part only. The food was ok, but I felt bit uncomfortable there as it was bar also. Anyway after dinner, we rested in the room. It was very peaceful sleep. In morning we took bed tea & milk for our kid. It was elegant room and stay we enjoyed. The only problem was, the hotel management wanted us to pay some difference between the travel website charged us and what they get from them. They were saying that their contract with travel website was with old rate and we should pay the difference. We could convince them that it was their and travel website issue and we have no role to play in. Finally they agreed. But in overall it was good stay and we went to catch the very famous Konkan railway which is very pleasant with natural beauty.

Arrived here with friends booked in advance, needed the room for only one night. Upon arrival was told that two girls and two guys cannot stay in the same room. We had booked a deluxe suite which accommodates four people and they were okay when the room was booked. Guy at the reception was rude, simply said look some where else. Manager too non-cooperative. Worst experience... I'd skip this one for life... Suggest you too to do the same...
