Tucked away on the side of a hill Mahal Farms has great valley views. Lots of green and trees in the day and lovely lights at night. It is close to the Kasauli mall - for those interested - and you can drive right upto the doorstep. It has a huge area for just sitting or walking. Not the spruced up lawn but terraces which give the impression of walking in the jungle. This was very useful for our dog - Wolfie. Yes - it is pet friendly. It is a homestay and not a hotel. The hosts stay close and are available for any help / assistance. The staff provides home type food. Not too much variety but well cooked. They also provide the cleaning services. At times one has to wait a bit - so do order stuff in advance. There are a couple of two bedroom cottages and some one bedroom ones. The higher up ones have slightly better views. The only thing that I would have liked was a couch and some more comfortable furniture in the living room. Otherwise a lovely place. …
Away from the hustle and bustle of Kasauli market, but near enough to the many walks and attractions of this sleepy hill station, Mahal Farms is the perfect place to stay in Kasauli. Clean, comfortable, warm (heater available in the room), the ghar ka khana and Johnny, the ever kind and helpful caretaker, make it a home away from home. The best place to stay in Kasauli...the perfect relaxation and leisure.
Mahal Farms is an excellent getaway from the hustle bustle of city life. We stayed for two days from 15-17 Oct 20. The facility has single/ double room sets where a family or a group of visitors can be accommodated. Neat and clean rooms with an excellent view from all rooms. Spacious sit outs with every room with facility of a bonfire if required. The management is very courteous and responds to any request immediately. Johnny the caretaker looks after the guests with a very personal touch. The food prepared by him has got a homely touch and is reasonably priced. The best part is the facility is pet friendly and has adequate place in the surroundings for the pets to roam or laze around. Overall an excellent experience in Mahal Farms. Highly recommended for weekend or long stays for a couple of weeks also. Keep up the excellent work. God bless.... Sharad and Dolly ... 8335888383.…
It is not a guest house but more of home stay with all the necessary amenties avaialble. Mall road is only 1.2km away from this place and frequent bus service avaialble from. Not giving 5 star because our room didn't have balcony. Charges are reasonable.
Nicely located in the valley, Go for the cherry cottage which has 3 bedrooms, however needs some maintainence, hats off to Jonny who seems the only person who does everything with may be just one more help , so he is sort of overworked, food is below average, humble suggestion to employ more staff and improve food quality
We the family of four decided to visit Himachal with Kasauli as our base for our 4 days sojourn. We booked our stay at Mahal Farms Home Stay. And we are glad that we did so. We had booked a two bedroom cottage. The cottage was very nicely located with a fantastic view from the windows in the living room. The cottage is provided with a kitchen and a living room and a balcony. The living room provides an amazing view. One can spend quite some time absorbing the Himalayan beauty through its balcony and windowsin the living room. Amazing view. Intermittent passage of clouds makes it all the more beautiful. Very closely situated to the mall road and a taxi will take Rs 200 to drop you at the mall road from this location. Though it is a 10 minutes trek to the mall road. The property owner Mr Mahal Singh ji is a very affable and corteous host and takes personal care of the guests lodged. The property also provides for breakfast and dinner on payment which is generally good. Johny the housekeeper is prompt in his service. Overall a very good experience. Just a little suggestion. The morning tea if ordered is served at 8 AM. For many persons like me who are early risers waiting upto 8 AM is too long. Probably some sachets of milk powder, sugar and tea bags if kept in the room even at a charge shall be really really good…
Loved the place in all aspects - Location, Staff, Cleanliness, Services & Food. It was truly a home away from home. Valley view from the Cherry Villa was spectacular. Rooms were big enough a nd well maintained. Exclusive parking, courteous staff & owner made the stay worth it. Definitely going to repeat this again soon. Highly Recommended.
We stayed at Mahal farms for one night and had a very comfortable stay. We were in West End Cottage and it gave us complete privacy. The room was spacious and comfortable with a private sit out. Room crockery could have been more clean. The market is just 5 mins uphill drive. Overall, tt offered complete value for money
Our booking was last minute, as was our trip, with no prior reservation. Luckily, there was a room available. The owner was courteous and our stay, food and service was pleasant. Even though it was unplanned, the owner promptly sent a taxi to pick us from Chandigarh airport. The driver, Mr. Kuldeep Singh (+91 70186 56972) turned out to be calm and nice gentleman, we hired him for the entire trip around Himachal.
The house, cottages and the rooms are lovely and very well maintained. The rooms offer a lovely view of the valley. Food was good and cheap. Service was prompt and good. To go to Kasauli you require a vehicle.
