Except from my larger trip blog: This time we stayed in a resort inside the Tiger Reserve on Mangala Road.

Mangala Village Road which was about 7kms long became our favourite stretch for next 2 days.
We spotted herd of Elephants, many peacocks and saw hundreds of deers anytime of the day.

We stayed in a very small resort on Mangala Village Road called Ambuja Farms. This was an unknown place for us to stay as none we knew had stayed there earlier. So we went with an open mind specially considering this was only available place during a fully booked Christmas season. None of the known resorts/hotels had
any availability.

We entered this resort through a rugged terrain/kacha road. Spotted the gate with electric fence on sides. Inside we saw a large pond, few small scattered buildings and nothing fancy.

We were lead to a room on one corner of a 4 roomed building. After staying in fancy star hotels and resorts, this place was quiet low in fancy quotient. It was just a room with tiny TV, a double bed and a dressing table, Wifi that was accessible outside room in sit-out. No kettle with tea coffee, no sofa/chair.

But whatever was there was clean. Basically the place was Raw and had some amazing feel good food 3 times a day and very welcoming service from the staff.

It was the kind of place which really didn’t hold us back in the room, we were out longer, either within the resort or outside.

Best part of this farm was that animals like deers and wild boar were walking in and out of the farm and in visible distance from our room. It seems the electric fences are specifically placed for warding off elephants.

We had our dinner in the open dining area with the sounds of jungle around, camp fire in the background, few deers grazing few meters away and a wild boar grunting and foraging the forest floor.

We will be back to this place in our next trip

Hello All,

We are 3 Family with Kids visited this place on18th May 13.However it was my 2nd visit & we found the place is still worth of everything. Its not so far from Bangalore as you can drive with min 2 break & reach the place within 6 hrs and its just 215 km exactly from Mysore Road (Kengeri).
The place is just in middle of the Forest (Yes Safety is gurented) & having a nice cool view of the Forest. The Hospitality is still doing best(even after last 3 yrs) & surely we should thanks Mr. Ramesh (MD) for the same for his kindness & Respect for people.

You can go for safary 2.5 km from the place (must Go) & better in the eve (4 pm -5 pm) with a cost of Rs. 300(Kid-Rs150) with The forest Dept Mini Bus & in 1.5 hr you can enjoy by viewing lot of animal as per your expectation(value for money).
The food & service was just overwhelmed (only expect homly cook fresh food -veg & Non Veg & all 3 meals) & the same is included in the package.
Bon Fire will be arranged(no cost) & if you want pls go ahead.

Overall it was again a good experiance & recommend to family(Economical/Budget class).
Before I close some improtent information.
1. Please carry insect spray as there are plenty in the out side of the room which can disturb you very much.
2.Ask for Mosquto net if you are use to it.
3.Little hot in the day but evening is pleasent.
4.No Tv, & No Bath Accesory(only single towl)
5. No Child Entertainment area.
6.No Swiming Pool(it would have been better if available my personal feeling)
6.But you will surely dont mind all this once you be there for a day & avail their hert touching service...Meet the Great Care taker come Chef Kumar..
Koudos to Mr Ramesh & His Team.. see you soon.

Ambuja farm house is an excellent home stay in bandipur as we our self experienced a very good welcome from staff and Mr.Ramesh owner of farmhouse guided us with all the directions. The service and food is excellent feel like home food. Staff Mr. Murthy and guys are very helpful and friendly, early in the morning we started to safari at 6am unluckily we didnt find any animal except deer then we returned to farm house and we saw plenty of deers in farm house itself and then i had a conversation with Mr. Ramesh to find animals he directed the route towards masinagudi and madumalai late evening . we started at 5pm towards madumalai we found an elephants which was enjoying its food we enjoyed by seeing very closely and we saw sambar which was fantastic experience and while returning from madumalai we saw another angry elephants on road which was about to attack themselves we didnt stop our car and we moved on. when we cameback to farm house they prepared superb dinner and we enjoyed and had a nice chat with them and walked around farmhouse which was electric fence around, many deers are playing in farm house itself. wher my daughter enjoyed by seeing by seeing their play . The second day we got up early Mr. Murthy prepared very good coffee and having a sip we sat in end of the corner of farmhouse we enjoyed the nature and we have seen many variety of birds around farmhouse ,Mr Ramesh has well maintained the farm house and well behaved staff. excellent service pls do visit with your family and friends to enjoy nature and well protected home stay.

Visited this Resort for Two Nights from 26th Jan 2015 and we are lucky that we are the only guests at the Resort for the Two Nights.

After the Bandipur checkpost, take the immediate left and drive to Ambuja Resort which is about 2.6 kms from Bandipur Safari Entrance.

4 comfortable cottages and the package includes all meals (Veg & Non-Veg). Rate per Night is Rs.4500/- per couple.

I selected this Resort only Two days before my Trip without much expectation. The rooms are maintained well without any mosquitoes and bugs.

In the evening after the sunset, you can have Camp Fire with tasty Snacks. Music to be played from your own gadgets.

Games like Shuttle cock, Chess, Carom Board are available for Kids & Adults.

You can see lot of Deer's inside the resort looking for Green Grass which is a wonderful sight.

The Staff Moorthy, Manjua, Madhu are excellent in rendering their services to the Guest and they surprised me, as they are Young locals with less Education but well trained by Mr. Ramesh to take care of the Guest Needs.

Every one of the Resort staff greeted us on our Wedding Anniversary and surprised us with Special Sweet & made delicious Lunch for us.

If you are looking for a peace from your routine life, book a Cottage for Two nights and enjoy your stay in Bandipur.

No Newspaper, No TV, No Swimming Pool but still the resort is maintained well with less staff as they have gained the Hospitality knowledge by the guidance of Mr. Ramesh.

We are so lucky on 26th Jan 2015 while doing our evening Safari as we sighted Leopard at the end of our Safari and thanks to the Jeep Guides who sighted the Leopard first.

Apart from this we also sighted Wild Elephants and lots of Deers & Monkeys in our One Hour Safari. Next day we visited Venugopal Temple on the Hills and had a good Swami Darshan.

Please note that only Vodafone Tower is working in this resort. To my surprise BSNL is not working in this place.

The approach road to Ambuja Farms from the inner Main road is not good and my Car is with few (lot) Scratches which I have to fix it now. Probably they can cut the bushes frequently to take care of their own cars and the guests car.

Please note that No pickup facility is available by this resort from Bandipur Checkpost.

I definitely recommend this resort and thanks Ramesh and his young Team for their hospitality shown to us through out our stay.

Ambuja Farms is an 12 acer fenced property and safe area to stay. if you are lucky enough you will see all kind of wild animals. It was a sudden plan to stay in Bandipur. we was 7 people in 4 bikes we got a safe place to park our bikes
but reaching the place is like an adventurous ride for 3 KMS a complete drive. All my friends was shocked to see the path because we was riding inside the forest to reach place. we booked a big family room and an other room for couple(married).both the rooms was perfectly clean and neat. well maintain. Toilets are clean.Rooms are completely netted so no worried about mosquitos and bugs. BUT do not open the door or window in late night so you will avoid bugs and mosquitos entering your room.

Food tastes like homemade.Served in buffet limited menu. but good enough to fill your tummy.

Went to ambuja farms with Friends, This place is situated adjutant to Forest. While traveling from Bandipur Reception office to Ambuja farms we felt like though we are in the safari as the route of about 2.5 kms stretch navigate through thick Forest. We sighted Elephants, spotted deer, Wild bores and peacock on the way to this farm house. After reaching farm house we all exited seeing this beautiful place surrounded by woods. while sitting and sipping a tea at dinning Hut we sighted lots of deer’s, Variety of birds, Peacock, mongoose roaming freely within the farm house .Excellent Homemade like food served to us and the staff members are very kind and courteous. Excellent service given as per our requirement the food was cooked .Rooms are well maintained. Enjoyed Campfire. Solar fencing is done to prevent elephants entering this farm house. I suggest this place to stay with Family or friends those who have fed-up with urban life .we are again planning to visit this place in next couple of months

If incase you don't have your own personal vehicle,I would suggest avoid the place. The place is not only far from the Bandipur reserve but also the road leading to the place is terrible.A taxi we had hired to take us to the safari broke down and then the manager arranged a lift from the vehicle of Country Club resort to take us to the Forest gate.
They had mentioned in the email sent to us that a pick up could be arranged within 3 kms of the Hotel but nothing of that sort happened.
There was not even water in the room,we had to ask for water and even TV was not working, also there was only one electric point in the room so at one time only one phone can be charged or you can watch TV.
We also faced problems in communcation, the staff could speak very little Hindi or English.
The only saving point was Food,it was fantastic.

Our Esteemed Guest, First & foremost ,kindly accept our apologies from our team Ambuja for some small issues ,which might have disturbed you ,at the same time i wish to clarify some aspects of yours. > As you have said rightfully,we would have arranged for the pick & drop from nearest town ,provided you should have informed us well in advance and its clearly mentioned in our Visitors General information sent to you in person well in advance.Being a jungle retreat we have our own constraints to handle the situations,Visitors also need to understand this . > Secondly ,TV was working perfectly in the room you have checked in,because you have removed the power point plug to use it for mobile charging ,obviously TV did not work. But there is a multi power point socket ,ment to be used for charging without disconnecting TV plug. Might be you have over looked it. > Thirdly ,Being an Eco & sustainable tourism property,we have all our staff from the local community who are just opening up & well behaved & try to commute as much as possible in visitors language. so our people should also be a bit accomodative to minor issues, that too in places like this. Finally ,we thank you very much for taking your precious time to write.

Hi,

I had gone for a vacation to Bandhipur from 21-04-2011 to 24-04-2011, along with my friends and our Families we were totally 21 people and we had booked the entire Ambuja Farms. The Approach to the Ambuja Farms was good but after we reached there the problems started.

1). The first day their was no current and the farm is in the Jungle. We did not receive the current till the next day.
2). The Generator was not working. It got repaired the next day
3). The Electric Fencing was not working this is very risky as Ambuja Farms is in the Jungle. I can confidently say this as my son had by mistake touched the Electric Fencing and nothing happened to him.
4). The staff who give the service in the Farm can only understand Kanada, they do not know any other language.this created communication problems.
5). In one of the Cottages in the night we had 1000's of ants falling from the roof, due to which kids had developed rashes and they fell ill.
6). The Staff in Ambuja Farms are not aware about what are the activities that can be done in and around Bandipur.

Over all I feel if you have to go to Bandipur please do not book yourself in Ambuja Farms. It is the bad place to stay.
