First of all, don't trust your GPS or Google to find this place...even the locals we asked gave us different directions. We took a cab from the KTX station and the cab driver could not find it either despite giving him the address in the local language. After 30 mins of pulling around our luggage, a kind owner of another...

We stay at Dukmanjae for one night for the experience of staying in a traditional Korean Hannok. Just so we are all clear, this for those who wants to experience what it might be like if you were living a Hannok. The house is tucked away at the end of the laneway it is tranquil and peaceful (even though there...

Now let me start by saying, if you are looking for a Western style hotel, this isn't it. However, if you are adventurous and want to stay by the Hanok village, then stay here. You will be sleeping on the floor and the space is small but honestly, it didn't bother me. I still slept well and my personal items...

This was the second time I visited Jeonju. Travelling together with 6 friends this time, I wanted to try staying in a traditional Hanok. There are only 6 rooms in this property. We booked 2 quadruple rooms (each for 2 persons), 1 triple room (for 2 persons) and 1 double room (for a single). It turned out that all types...

We chose this Hanok on arrival, having wandered around the area and looked at others. This looked really traditional, with a lovely garden area where you can relax in the sun. We met the owner when we arrived, and she offered us a very good price so we decided to stay. Ours was the last room available that night. The...

Not easy to find for taxi drivers. Good location and lovely owner! Perfect if you want a hanok experience for a couple of nights. Bathroom has Korean style shower means no seperate shower but shower head hanging in the bathroom so make sure to take out all your belongings before showering ;-)

I stayed at Dukmanjae for one night in March. After a long flight from Germany to Korea I took the bus from Incheon Airport to Jeonju. For my first night of a one-week-tour through South Korea I choosed to stay in a traditional hanok. I was very happy with Dukmanjae. There was a friendly welcome by the owner and the...

A little bit hard to fin. Even with a taxi, we ended up at the wrong (private) gate. The owner wasn't there, so we had to wait for like half an hour. She did leave us a note, but as we were at the wrong gate, we didn't find it. Once she arrived, things got a lot easier. She was...

This is located at the edge of the old village town and that mean once you walk out of your guest house area you are in the old vilalge town, though not in the very specific center. This offers very convenient location and during the two days that I stayed there I don't need any vehicle for transportation. Everything is...

It was my partner’s idea to stay in a traditional Hanok. And now, I thank her for that. We arrived a little bit after 10 and couldn’t find any staff. Lucky for us, a fellow guest was about to go out and told us to call the owner. We did that and within 2 minutes, a sweet-looking lady came out...
