Great Hotel and great staff which are let down by an owner who would like to charge you for the air you breathe. At £126.00 for an overnight stay to attend a birthday party we discovered No WIFI and No TV unless you want to fork out £19.99 Even on a bus or in a burger bar etc WIFI is...

We went for a family break and booked several rooms. We arrived at 1.00, which was before check in at 3, but thought we could drop our luggage. After waiting around for half an hour and calling on the reception phone, we were unable to locate any staff member and so left and came back at 2.50. This time only...

Stayed for 2 nights to attend a friend's wedding. First impression was not the best as we arrived the reception was not manned. There was a telephone to pick up to contact the receptionist. We could hear it ringing in an office at the back of the desk but no sign of anyone. Eventually she arrived, having been showing a...

I stayed two nights in an Executive Suite, with the bed on a mezzanine floor. I was disappointed that the bathroom was on the ground floor, as the stairs up to the bed area were narrow. The main problem overnight was the noise of the air conditioner coming on and off, it was very noisy. I wouldn't have minded, but...

We stayed 2 nights. We ate in the restraint both evenings and mornings and the food was very good with no complaints. All the staff we met were all pleasant and helpful. We would definitely go back although management could do with re-setting the air-conditioning which is set too high with a minimum of 19 degrees with ice cube setting...

In October of last year, I was at the Bay Hotel for a conference. As per usual I was early and was greeted at the entrance to the conference centre by a couple of staff. They could only be described as "clinically disinterested", in their customers. I was informed that as I was early, there was no chance of me...

Mudie S, Public Relations Manager at Bay Hotel, responded to this review

On behalf of the hotel I would respond with complete surprise to a review of this nature being posted five months after the event took place. On reviewing our records, we have no log of any attendee at this conference registering anything other than complete satisfaction with the professionalism of the team handling this event. Whilst we always strive to...

My wife and I had booked for lunch and were met by a lovely young man called Michael, who showed us to a window table. On a good day the view would be amazing but even with the cold and rain it was still endearing. His attention and service were excellent and when we received our meals, they were HOT,...

We stayed for a weekend in January, booking a duplex executive suite (sleeps up to 4 people). Beautifully appointed rooms with floor to ceiling windows and a glass gazed balcony looking up and across the river Forth to Edinburgh & the bridges. Room had everything we could want including two flat screen televisions and a very well appointed bathroom. Made...

Visited for lunch with friends. Lovely views across bay. Staff were very friendly, cheerful and helpful. Food was reasonably priced and very well presented.Steak pie was delicious and would definitely recommend. Good choice of tempting deserts, followed by coffee served in jug with milk and mints. A very enjoyable and relaxing lunch in pleasant surroundings with old fashioned courteous service....
