Arrived with SI tours of course, on the boat ride in we saw tons of wildlife including proboscis monkeys and lucky us, five elephants. Accommodation is basic but fine, but the best thing of course is the evening boat trip, more proboscis, monkeys, kingfisher, darters, snake, owl, storm stork, etc. incredible spotting and info by our guide Abbas.

We stayed here for one night during our tour of Borneo in May 2014. It was really fun! The boat wildlife viewing is excellent. We saw loads of proboscis monkeys, and many other types of monkeys. The food was ok, but not excellent. Drinks were reasonable. Staff were great fun. WOrth staying here for one night during your trip.

We had two nights at the Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge as part of a wildlife watching package organised by its owners, S.I. Tours. The hospitality here is amazing, and although the accommodation is simple, it's clean as a whistle and provides all the necessaries - comfy beds, pedestal loos, showers with warm water, fans and plentiful food cooked with love. Its... More

After two nights in Abai we headed here and were not disappointed. Food was lovely, sarongs were an added treat and quite liberating (so my husband says!) Not sure what happened to the review person below, but the restaurant is open on three sides and you can't fail to see the river and the food was delicious, both dinner and... More

A comfortable riverside lodge. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, no creepy crawlies! The main dining area must be entered bare footed and at dinner guests (male and female) are encouraged to wear the provided sarongs (bring a belt for extra garment security!) which added to the relaxed atmosphere. Food here was plentiful, fresh and tasty. The boat captains are... More

We spent a night here after spending two nights at Abai. The lodge was a bit of a disappointment as the food was dull and cold, and there was no view of the river from the restaurant. Breakfast was a farce. Told be be there at 6.30 and nothing to be seen. Cold food arrived at 6.45 so it must... More

Spent two nights here after two night at Abai Lodge, both of which are owned by SI Tours. Both are fairly similar but with two important differences - Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge has a far smaller (and also less exciting) boardwalk which is really more about linking up the lodges; and it is also larger and a bit less authentic and... We stayed here for 2 nights 13-15 March in a std room which was of a good size but very basic. The bathroom was very small and had a folding plastic door? The room smelt of moth balls which we found in the bathroom. The rooms weren't cleaned whilst we were there so no changes of towles etc or beds... More
