We have travelled extensively, using B&B's worldwide and were pleasantly surprised with our welcome, lovely rooms and food at Poplars. Well behaved dogs are welcomed but, rightly, David, asks that paws are wiped to keep their lovely home in tiptop condition. Paul's breakfast is fresh, varied and beautifully tasty. Good choice and, I'm told, the veggie options are good too(not...

Think this has been our 5th visit to poplars and its always a delight to stay here. The owners have a wonderful business and area is truly beautiful. If your looking for solitude in a traditional chocolate box country residence then I cannot recommend it enough. The 4 rooms are completely individual with lovely views over the countryside. One of...

We had an amazing stay with Dave and Paul. Staying at poplars farmhouse is like staying with family. Starting with tea and cake on arrival to a massive breakfast in the morning and help on planning our days there. The location is amazing and secluded yet close by the next village to go out for food and drinks. I would...

We visited Poplars Farmhouse for just one night but would have loved to stay longer. Thank you David and Paul for a warm welcome, warm fire, convivial atmosphere and simply perfect home for a night. We stayed in the Gardenia room which was lovely, has a wonderfully comfortable bed, and like everyone else in their reviews enjoyed a superb breakfast...

We stayed here in between Christmas and new year and it was just the perfect way to unwind. A beautifully welcoming home decorated to a very high standard, a roaring fire, glorious Christmas tree and an offer of tea and cake in the guest lounge when we arrived. I love the fact that breakfast is communial, we met two very...

We have recently returned from an autumnal weekend stay at The Poplars and from the moment we stepped into the door we were welcomed and made to feel at home but better than that because we didn’t have to do anything. Our room - the panelled room - was individually designed, spacious and warm, with comfortable beds and pillows and...

From the moment we arrived outside Poplars we felt a nice calm and this continued as we were met by David and shown to our room. We stayed in the Gardenia suite for 2 nights which is spacious, clean, comfortable and has great views. A large bed with beautiful crisp sheets, soft towels and all amenities, we felt so relaxed....

In all honesty, my wife and I have never quite like the Suffolk/Essex region for various reasons, however the stay at the poplars farmhouse was delightful. David the owner was nice to chat with, and more importantly, paid attention to the details. We were treated a nice tea on arrival, and were very impressed by the delicate and delicious breakfast....

A beautiful house, immaculately kept and lots of nice little touches, such as a fresh bottle of water in the room each day and the wood burner on the go in the breakfast room. David Kerr was extremely welcoming and accommodating. Breakfast was served precisely on time and was delicious. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful weekend with friends visiting the Stour Valley and couldn't have hoped for a nicer place to stay. A Beautiful farmhouse with lovely large rooms and all the amenities you would need. Our stay was made all the nicer by the warm welcome and care provided by the Hosts with helpful suggestions on places to visit. The...
