I've lost count of the number of times our family have eaten here over the years, it just never disappoints and ticks all the boxes; Great staff - ambience- choice of beers - selection of wines - and of course the wonderful food. We'll be back, again & again .......

Not our first visit to the Crown for lunch, but we hadn't been for a couple of years. The food is still very good, modern british, good clear flavours, not over-elaborate. Good-value lunch set menu, and mercifully, not too big portions. I enjoyed a pork chop on wilted spinach (not overcooked, and not soggy), my wife a flavoursome smoked salmon linguini.... More

On the whole, we had a lovely one night stay at The Crown. The staff were very friendly, the room had great countryside views and the food in the pub was pretty good. The only thing was, it just felt quite average and we paid a hefty £250 for a deluxe room (B&B) which just didn't live up to the... More

One of my favourite Restaurants , not only the superb quality of the food but the atmosphere . I live 180 miles from the Crown so it is an added pleasure for eating here when away from home . This week had the Crab and next night The Halibut , both exceptional

We go here at least once a fortnight and have never had a bad meal. The service is excellent and restaurant clean and tidy. The liver and bacon is superb as are the fish dishes. It is advisable to book although we have never been turned away but might have to wait for a table to become free. Thoroughly recommend

I've been there in the beginning of october 2016 (6). As strangers we feared a bit English cooking, but I must say that my son and I had a very good meal. I ask for a skate wring and I got a large one ! My son ate a fillet of hake that he enjoyed very much. I just regret... More

Lovely lunch with helpful staff. I had a fillet of plaice with crayfish and chorizo served with salad and chips which was delicious. (We had mini starters which were just right to whet the appetite but not fill us up.) My husband's roast beef was okay but rather chewy in parts and the Yorkshire pudding was on the burnt side.... We took advantage of the hotel's great Sunday night deals and after an idyllic day's walking in the area it was the perfect place to stay - beautiful views over the countryside, conveniently near the restaurant/pub building but far enough away to be nice and quiet. The room was spacious and tastefully decorated and the bathroom was lovely - we... More
