The Brienzerburli is an authentic Swiss Chalet type of hotel. I have stayed there twice. Once in a budget double room which was definitely budget but I returned because the hotel itself is great. This time We stayed in room 31 which is a superior double room and it was perfect. The bed was comfortable with lots of space and...

We stayed in the Lowen Nice interiors with Excellent view of the Brienz lake from the Balcony and also from the Rooms Stayed together with family in July. The hotel arranges for the pickup from the railway station. The Hotel staff were very good. Also the food from the restaurant is good. Nice romantic location. We miss the hotel very...

The Brienzerburli Hotel in Brienz is on the main street towards the west side of town facing the beautiful lake. We visited on a nice warm day in September, exited the train station, and drug our bags to the hotel. Too far to drag heavy bags, upon arrival at the hotel I realized they had a van that would have...

This is a very 70’s hotel. It definitely stuck back in time! Our room was on the front of the hotel with a small balcony overlooking the lake, though the view was obscured a bit by a large tree. The bed was ok, and as I’d read on here the sheets were dirty its one of the first things I...

The room we had was a bit on the shabby side. Red checked bed spreads were kind of ugly. As others have noted, the church bell rings ALL NIGHT LONG. Really? Does anyone need to be awoken at 3 am by a bell telling them that it is 3 am? (rhetorical question...the answer is no.) The restaurant was just so...

We had the family apartment and the rooms were clean and quite spacious with a great view however basic amenities were missing such as a fridge/minibar, toaster during breakfast, ice not readily available, and no room service concept (even for a jug of hot water). The staff serving breakfast was friendly and helpful however the rest were cold, unsmiling and...

This family owned property consists of a hotel and separate chalet together with a on site restaurant and another one close by. We stayed in the chalet that is done in a traditional Swiss style. The large bedroom had a sloping roof, so at 6 feet I had to watch my head, but it wasn't much of a problem. The bath...

My wife and I spent two nights here. My wife only walks with difficulty and the staff went out of their way to make life as comfortable as possible for her. We had a great room next to the lift which also had a nice view of the lake. Breakfast was excellent as were both of the evening meals. My...

This pleasant, unpretentious pair of hotels is a family operation, and the family makes all the difference in creating a very good experience for its guests. We were given lots of detailed, useful (and accurate) travel advice that maximized our three day stay in Brienz. The rooms are plain, but clean and comfortable. We had a nice balcony with a...

We spent a week touring Swsitzerland and Southern France and this was unfortunately the worst accomodations we had. I thought I was going to pay less in Brienz than in Interlaken but it was a mistake. Small room with a dirty carpet and evry half an hour the church bell will wake you up !!

“Warning to those of you who like to go to bed early in peaceful quiet, try to get a room on the other side of the hotel because even on the 3rd floor and all windows closed it would be quite noisy on a warm summer's evening. Take your own pillow if, like me, you dislike fluffy feather pillows which reduce to nothing as soon as you lie down - this goes for most hotels in the region.”
