We stayed here for one night as part of a road trip. We enjoyed the old charm of the hotel, it was nice to not be in another Ibis or something generic and modern. The restaurant was great, one of the best we ate at in Switzerland. The location is convenient and there is ample parking.

We stayed here for a week in July 2014 having booked it because my partner had stayed there many years ago. This is not a luxury hotel and may, indeed, be tired in parts but its location as a centre for exploring the Interlaken, Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen valleys could not be bettered. We found the staff generally welcoming and helpful....

I had read some of the recent reviews that were not very favorable. Having stayed there once about 9-10 years ago, I thought I would try it again anyway. It is certainly not as bad (in my opinion) as some of the least favorable reviews. The hotel is quite old and it looks its age - but it does have...

The hotel is located 10mins walk from Wilderswil station & 10mins by car/bus from interlakem. (40mins walk from interlaken). There are free car park & the free breakfast was excellent. The internet Wi-Fi is 5 CHF but the signal is only curtain small area. (There was no signal at our room 26).We booked a superior room but the room was...

Having stayed at The Baeren on 3 previous occasions, spanning 30 years, it was the obvious choice for a return trip to The Bernese Oberland. However, it has lost its charm, and with change of ownership it's family run appeal, and is now rather an expensive 3* hotel. The room, quirky for sure and with a great view of the...

My wife and I booked this hotel through priceline.com - which then used booking.com to send the confirmation. However, instead of reserving the Hotel Baeren in Wilderswil (which is what priceline.com advertised) - Priceline instead booked us for the Hotel Baeren in Riggensberg - across the lake. The hotel Baeren in Riggensberg is much more basic and a 2-star compared...

The Hotel Baeren is a traditional Swiss hotel with clean rooms, though a bit on the small side. The staff are very friendly and helpful even under the pressure of a full dining room. The views of the surrounding mountains are spectacular and the hotel is only a five minute walk from the railway station. The meals are plentiful and...

We had been there in 2011 and the stay was awesome. We had booked 3 rooms and the view from all 3 of them was mesmerising. The Inn was too large and the beds were too comfy. If u want to reach there, you have to change trains from Interlaken and come here.

We had the best experience at Hotel Bären! The rooms are rustic and traditional. Although the amenities aren't exactly ultra modern, everything was clean and comfortable. The hotel was quaintly charming and the staff was very friendly. This traditional chalet felt more like an old meandering house rather than a hotel. We were given a room with a balcony that...

We have just had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Baeren. We were warmly welcomed on our arrival and were always given very helpful advice whenever we asked for information. Our room was clean and comfortable, there was ample choice for breakfast - I particularly enjoyed the Bircher muesli and bus and train stops were easy walks from the hotel.
