The hotel looks good, plenty of parking, and a friendly welcome. The room looked quite appealing, a good size and had everything you’d need. However, the air conditioning was humming away, the room was definitely chilly and we couldn’t turn it off. Back to reception, she explained that it’s controlled from reception, so she turned the air conditioning off, and said we could now just turn our heating up and down as required (so no problem with that first night). Had minimal sleep as never had a pillow so solid/hard ever! Day 2, we came back late, got ready for bed, realised the air conditioning is back on .. room chilly but that was no problem as the winter weight duvet was quite heavy. However, the constant humming of the air conditioning meant another night of minimal sleep. Wasn’t told about wi fi and couldn’t find any details/code in room. I was also surprised to find on stripping the bed before departure - something we normally do to help staff - that in the current climate there were no pillow protectors! Location is good, staff friendly, ate at the restaurant (pre booked before arrival), no Sunday roast left, (7pm) , no chicken etc. very limited choice, plenty of chips! Food was ok, breakfast both days pretty good, staff very friendly and good . Would stay again but mainly due to the fact it’s only a few minutes walk to our friends …
Fabulous week long visit for work purposes, as a group of 4. We were well looked after, lovely clean rooms, great food and exceptional breakfast service from our server Jane! We will be back without a doubt.
Stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is generally fine but the rooms are a little tired and lack some attention to detail - our room unfortunately had a broken toilet seat. The real fly in the ointment though was that our room was not cleaned. This was in spite of us having vacated the room in the morning for a few hours and then again from 1pm until 11pm. When we informed the staff of this upon check out, we were told “there’s a letter in the room explaining our cleaning policy.” I was asked if we’d put the please clean door hanger on, which we had done. I was then asked if I had come to inform reception that we wanted the room cleaned. I said no, as surely that’s the point of the door hanger? There was no further explanation, just a half hearted apology. I don’t mind if you have an unusual cleaning policy but that should be verbally explained to the customer upon booking or checking in as it is unconventional to have to ask for your room to be cleaned. A disappointing taint on our stay, the essence of staying in a hotel is the “treat” of having your room serviced and so having missed out on this did make this a 3/5 experience.…
Great Value for money and good location near the beach. Short drive to Bournmouth. A great room for my son a wheelchair user, plenty of space in room and the bathroom and great facities to support with the additional mobility needs
We have stayed here on several occasions and it is alway up to standard. Very clean room and comfortable bed. The curtains are amazing and don’t let in any light. The Globe Inn next door was very busy but welcoming. Great food and service. We will return😊
