My wife and I used to love staying at the hotel Candiles. However, it was sold to another company and while the rooms haven't changed much it is not what it used to be. It used to be that every aspect of the room was cared for and repaired. Now we found many scratches and abrasions on the furniture, not... More

This was my first trip to Costa Rica, arriving in the Santa Ana area I was a bit hesitant as to what I would be getting (seeing the steel bars on all the doors and windows). I was greeted by a charming bilingual clerk who had all my info ready and went thru the registration rapidly. I was then taken... More

I stayed here for a night for work, in June 2016 (EF Tours). Pros: -Beautiful hotel, very clean, nice rooms. -Has a condo-like feel - almost feels like a little village of houses tucked together. -Pretty restaurant with good food and a small bar. -Small pool out back available for use. Things to know: -This hotel is OUTSIDE of San... More

Excellent place to stay. Fantastic breakfasts, very clean and modern in the new wing. Very convenient for the United World College of Costa Rica which is a short walk away. I would definitely recommend this place.

Arrived for a two night stay following our arrival to Costa Rica. Just perfect for recharging our batteries after a long flight. Los Candiles is a quaint hotel and extremely quiet. I believe we had an upgrade and was very pleased wth our room. Great size with a separate lounge area. The bed was very comfy and the room had... More

We stayed here for one night and had a good experience. It's in a quiet location but still close to the airport, we had a simple but decent room, a nice balcony looking over the back patio and pool, and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast!

We booked this hotel on the basis of recommendations from friends. We were visiting our son who was at the UWC School which is nearby. We booked the hotel at a good rate through Hotels.com and their daily rate (we stayed an extra night and had to pay this is $95. When travelling we like to go to restaurants only... More

Great value.. Full of privacy but close to the entertainment. The Staff is very kind and the multiple payment options are available. This is a very good option if you are looking for a quite place surrounded by nature but close to the city. Management seems to be investing more on their place and it also seems they are moving... This is a great hotel, it feels quaint and is relaxing. Service is excellent. We were welcomed to the property and made to feel at home. The pool is tiny, but it is a pool. The buffet breakfast was fresh and delicious with great variety.

For my first two nights in Costa Rica I stayed at Hotel Villa Los Candiles in Santa Ana. I chose this hotel as I had initially only intended on staying in CR for two nights and it was close to San Jose International Airport. I booked this accommodation through Wotif for $182.44 AUD for the two nights ($80.72 each night... More
