Misaki Lodge is right near the lighthouse which is amazing for sunsets. My room (I paid for a dorm room but I had the room all to myself) overlooked the ocean and it was amazing to wake up to such a beautiful view. The lodge faces the Pacific Ocean near cape Shionomizaki, the southernmost point in Honshu. It works both as ryokan and as youth hostel. Stayed here to visit the nachi falls fire festival the next day. Judging by the scale of the map, it's easy to mistake the distance between station and lodge as a brief walk.
