The hotel sits on a hill overlooking the ocean and has great views of the ocean, the Hashigui-Iwa rock formation and Oshima Island. It is old and old fashioned although the people are great and they have a large hot pool/ If you are traveloing this part of japan you cannot do much better than to saty here.

We stopped by at this hotel on our route in the area and it is nothing special as a hotel and rather expesive. The good thing is that the rooms are very big and the views in front of the ocean are beautiful.

A grandmother of an hotel. Large property on a hill that looks upon the sea. Many local guests and many tour groups too. As it should be, as this is a large hotel with a very good onsen that is large enough to cater for the hotel guests as well as day visitors to the onsen. A good omiyage shop...

High on the hill overlooking the bay, Kii-Oshima and the remarkable Hashigui-iwa rock formation, this holiday hotel lords over the town – as it has done for decades. Which cues its biggest shortcoming – it’s getting old and needs a major refurbishment. However it was comfortable enough for an overnighter. The good: our ocean view twin room was one of...

This is the first hotel in Japan I've been to where service is completely restricted to the front counter. There is no one to show you to your room or to introduce the hotel facilities. It should be noted that, although there are two restaurants on site, the hotel seems to actively discourage patronage. We were told the Japanese restaurant...

Hotel was up on a small hill with quiet surrounding. It would be more convenient for guests with their own car as it was about 5 mins. uphill drive from town. We got a room facing the ocean and Kii Oshima, with excellent view of Hashikui-Iwa Rocks, you could also get the good view from hotel garden outside the breakfast...

I enjoyed the first onsen experience here. Before staying here I stay in Kinshu Minabe Royal Hotel but did not get to enjoy the onsen. Breakfast is quite good, and I enjoyed the Japanese style dinner too. The room are good but small bathroom with Shiseido brand toiletries. And there is only local television show.

Really enjoyed our 2 night stay here in Kushimoto! The staff was very friendly and helpful in answering our questions and the breakfast buffet was very good with many choices for both western and Japanese food. The room was spacious and location is on top of a hill so we had a great view of Hashigui-iwa and sea from our...

Beautiful view. Not very international. Hotel stuff very friendly. But they don't speak English. Very hard to communicate. No laundry service. Needs a renovation. The city is very humid.Because of the environment the building has a moldy smells. I highly recommend mold friendly furnishing.

This is a prominent hilltop hotel you can clearly see from the train station. Its best to take the somewhat infrequent free shuttle but it is walkable from the train. The hotel staff is very polite and efficient and at least one person around the desk will speak English. There is a small shop that sells limited food in the...
