We drove from Tokyo and at night on winding mountain roads, it was a bit stressful. But once we got to our rooms, and then to the baths, it was very relaxing. Dinner was served in the room and overall good tasting Japanese food but to my wife the desert was disappointing. Sashimi was good, and it was all fish...

The hotel has a nice view of the coast and the onsen is quite large with both indoor and outdoor baths. Dinner in the room was very good and plentiful. The lady who brought us to the room was very friendly and sweet. The hotel also had a free firefly night tour for guests so that was nice. The hotel...

Dear sir,Thank you for coming to our hotel. And thanks for writing a review. "HOTARU" is an earnest summer tradition of Japan. We can see it near our hotel every year, but depending on weather conditions it may not come true. I'm glad you could take part in a tour for viewing HOTARU. We will continue to make efforts as...

Everything was amazing like the ocean view from a room where we stayed, spacious public bathhouse, tasty dinner cooking various seafoods and so on. On the other hand, it costed very much. I could stay here, because I had voucher I can use payment of this hotel, which was given by Nishi-Izu local government as a token of my...

The welcome was really quite unexpected with staff lining up at the entrance as we arrived. Very Japanese. Room was large and clean and well equipped. We took half board but dinner was however a little disappointing compared to some of the other hotels we have been to. It had all the elements of a Japanese meal but the taste...

This is an excellent ryokan/onsen. The building is up to date, the grounds beautiful, and the staff pleasant, helpful, and unobtrusive. The large tatami room is true Japanese style (how many tatami mats?) From the room, the tea table by the window, and the balcony you can enjoy a beautiful view of the ocean. Open the door a little to...

stayed there at the end of year 2004. We travelled around Izu for several days without booking any hotels. When we arrived at this area, it was raining a little. We asked ryoukans and hotels one by one whether they had availability that night. Most of them were full or just rejected us. After quite a long time, we arrived...
