Stayed 3 nights at Hotel Nikko Alivila. The location of the hotel is fantastic, just about an hour drive from the Airport and about 50 mins from Naha via the Highway.

It is a beach front hotel with relatively great beach area compared to some other hotels though it still has lots of coral chips and broken shells so a “wet / aqua shoes” is highly recommended.

The tides comes and go in Okinawa. During low tide, it is very fun to do the intertidal walk along the shallow area to experience the abundance sea creatures and fishes. It was amazing! You can see a lot of tropical fishes by just walking in the shallow water.

The hotel room is very generous in size, more than 40sqm I presumed. It is slightly outdated in terms of deco, but it was immaculately kept to its pristine condition. The toilet is huge with separate room for the WC. The shower has great water pressure, WC with a washer, and all the Bath Gel, Shampoo, Conditioner and Face Wash all provided for. There is a mini fridge and a Coffee machine as well.

The TV is extremely small, but I hardly have any time to switch it on.

My room is facing the Wedding Chapel, also a well known café next door (Banta Café). It is a instagramable spot so you can just walk over from the resort, it is about 5 mins walk.

The hotel has a big landscape Swimming Pool, but with many room inventory, the pool is always busy with lots of children. Nonetheless it is fun to hang out. If you prefer a quiet place to chill, they do have extensive beach deck and umbrellas where it is mostly adults.

The watersports centre has lots of activities and it is competitively priced. I was a little upset of the operating hours due to the tide, and they should have at least some communications to all their guests. The watersports centre only operate from 1500 hours to 1600 hours (only 1 hour) as before 1500, it was low tide, and after 1600 the tide comes in … so we only have 1 hour to do the watersports which is not ideal.

The breakfast was phenomenal, with 3 restaurants to choose from. This is one of the highlights. You can choose the Western Restaurant for breakfast, Japanese Restaurant for breakfast or a Casual Dining (a mixture and good for family and kids).

Parking is chargeable at 1000 Yen per stay. You can go in and out of the carpark with the ticket. The carpark is unsheltered just opposite the hotel.

The stay experience is absolutely phenomenal. I would highly recommend this hotel in Okinawa.

My family had a wonderful time staying at this resort. The first night there was a fun concert and fireworks show! We loved snorkeling in the ocean and we even took a spin on the water couch pulled by jet ski. So fun! We ate at the breakfast and dinner buffets. Lots of variety of yummy local dishes. The staff are very welcoming. Would recommend to others.

1. The room is spacious and comfortable, facing the sea and on a high floor. The supplies are complete, and there are even Sekkisei skin care products for travel groups; in addition to basic toiletries, bath powder is also available, and the shower gel, body lotion and hand soap are the hotel's own brands and smell good.
2. The laundry room (located on the Ground floor) has nine washing machines and dryers, 100 yen/30 minutes, washing powder is 100 yen per serving, and there is a coin exchange machine.
3. The parking lot is opposite the hotel. There is a small yellow card for entry and exit, 1,000 yen/night.
4. There is a coffee machine in the room, equipped with coffee balls and tea balls. Screw the mineral water bottle onto the latch on the back of the machine and you will have hot drinks.
5. There is a swimming pool and a beautiful private beach with parasols and deck chairs, and 2 lifeguards patrolling at any time. There are also hotel-owned water sports.
6. There will be some broken rocks after the beach enters the water, so be careful not to cut your feet.
7. The nearest supermarket is Marudai Supermarket (Bohei Branch), which is about 5 minutes’ drive away and is more than 1K away. The hotel also has many restaurants. If you don’t want to go out to eat, you can also choose the restaurant inside the hotel.
8. There are three restaurants to choose from for breakfast in the hotel (located on the Ground floor).
9. If you are driving by yourself, I highly recommend this hotel. You can stay for two nights, which is just right.

Top Floor Twin (Ocean View, Top Floor) \69,120 I stayed in a room.
I arrived before check-in, so I asked the male staff at the front desk if the pool was available and they said yes and left. It's my first visit, so I don't know where to get dressed, where to get there, etc. And I don't know anything else. I felt that they would not understand our position. The buildings visible from the pool were marked by dirt and staleness, and the deckchair mats were smeared with black mold. The room on the top floor was clean and calm with a nice view, but I found that it was not big enough for the price and the floor of the veranda was not maintained with green moss on top of beige paint. The windows from the first floor of the hotel to the side of the pool and the windows looking out from the restaurant have hardly been cleaned, and the window frames are old, so I think the atmosphere will change completely if it is cleaned just there. It looks beautiful when photographed from a distance, but when seen up close, the whole thing is undeniable old. I think a three-star level of 30,000 yen per night with two meals, including all the restaurant staff, food, interior design and hospitality, is enough, but it is simply not possible from the perspective of a five-star hotel.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Alivila. Initially the room we got was quite smelly (not sure why.. a bit musty or cigarette smoke) and when I complained they offered me another room which was much better. Thanks to the front desk staff for indulging us and instead of ignoring it, they did take proactive steps to rectify. Although this smelly room is not just limited to this hotel but for some reason my other hotel in Naha was also smelly.. the staff blame it on the humid weather but I live in a similarly hot and humid country and the rooms never smell ! The room was however quite large and we had the sea facing room and corner room, so the view was absolutely gorgeous.. bathroom was stocked with everything one would need. Breakfast had numerous choices.. but one drawback was that it never changes.. we were there for 5 days and it was the same .. so after the 3rd day we were a bit tired and would have loved some alternative choices.. being a vegetarian the choices were a bit limited as compared to the non veg but frankly there was enough. Unfortunately it rained almost everyday we were there so could not enjoy the beach. One feature that I loved was the cheap laundry facilities! There were many washer/dryers and for just 300 Yen we could wash and dry our clothes. Hope all hotels could adopt this and do away with expensive laundry services! Parking is charged 1000yen for entire stay and although the parking lot is huge, it was mostly full everyday. There are 3-4 restaurants within the hotel but have very limited vegetarian choices for dinner. There are many restaurants a few minutes away from hotel and even a vegan place about 5 kms away. The staff were most attentive, calm , smiling and efficient. There were a few English speaking staff too. Full marks to them and their service. However, Please however try to get rid of the smell in the corridors and rooms.

We stayed in a premier twin room for three nights on our honeymoon. Perhaps because we booked a cheap tour, our room had a view of the white chapel on the Zanpa Cape side.
Compared to when we stayed there once, about three years after the hotel opened, it seemed a bit old in places.
The lobby smelled great, but the smell in the room was a bit like pool chlorine and cigarettes, which bothered me a bit.
When we checked in, we were worried because we could hear the creaking sound of chairs being moved on the balcony of the neighboring room, but the guide said that if the sound continued at night, we would consider changing rooms. It was nice that it was quiet at night.
The room and bed were spacious enough for two people, and the sofa was very comfortable to relax on.
Aside from the amenities, we were very grateful that there was a coffee machine (like Nespresso).

I'm not sure if it was because it was the off-season, but if you opt not to use the daily cleaning service, you can get a 2,000 yen coupon to use in the hotel. It was nice that you could use it for breakfast, dinner, and in the shops in the hotel.
Even if you didn't need the cleaning service, it was nice that the bath towels were changed every day.

There is also a meal service that is not widely advertised, such as dinner that starts at 5pm at a wallet-friendly price and bento boxes that can be enjoyed in the room. I could only get information about it from an advertisement in the elevator, and I was unsure whether it was really open or not, and I was unsure what to choose, so I ended up not ordering. I wish there was information about it near the restaurant in the hotel.

I visited at the beginning of November, and it seems that the outdoor pool is still open, so I wish I had stayed one more day longer so I could have enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor pools.
Anyway, it is close to the beach, and the sunset from the hotel and the hotel beach is amazing.
The location is surrounded by sugarcane fields and the sea is close, so I would like to stay again, this time with my parents.
I hope that the physical facilities will be renovated.

This was my first visit since about three years ago, during the COVID-19 pandemic. The good thing about this hotel is that the pool and the beach are close together, so there is a sense of unity.

I booked a cheap room, so I was assigned a room with a view of Cape Zanpa, just like last time (the more expensive rooms seem to have a view of the courtyard with the pool).

The balcony here has no partition between the rooms next door, so it's embarrassing if you make eye contact with the neighbors, so it's difficult to relax (similar to the Southern Beach Hotel in the south).

The room is spacious enough for an elderly couple to use, and it's clean.

I'm a smoker, so I often went in and out of the smoking area in the hotel. At breakfast time, it's so busy that there are often 7-8 people in the room, so I heard people say they would like to see more.

You can choose from three restaurants for breakfast, but two of them are buffets, so if you go after 8:30, there is always a wait (about 10 to 20 minutes). I stayed for four nights, so I tried all the restaurants, but I liked the Japanese restaurant Sawa, which was always empty and had no wait time, so I went there twice. First, a Japanese set menu is served, and then there is a buffet corner, so it is like a half-buffet. It is a hidden gem because it is delicious and has a relaxing atmosphere without the hustle and bustle of other restaurants. If you are an elderly couple like us and do not have children, I recommend this place because there is no waiting time.
For dinner, I tried the Hana Hana buffet restaurant once. Tuna is delicious in Okinawa, but it was disappointing that it was only available as sushi. I would like them to consider setting up a sashimi corner (other hotels have sashimi corners and are popular).
When I checked out, I parked my rental car in front of the main entrance to load my luggage, and the bell staff helped me load my luggage and even saw me off, which made a good impression. This made me want to visit again.
This is a hotel that can be enjoyed by anyone, including families, couples, and couples. I can recommend it.

During Golden Week in 1998, I had given up on going far (even though I really wanted to), and was feeling frustrated that I couldn't go anywhere. On April 29th, I was browsing the Internet early in the morning and found that I could book an early morning JAL flight for my round trip and the last ANA flight (May 3rd-5th) for my return flight. I decided that if I could get a hotel through a travel agency, I would also buy my plane ticket there, so I booked a hotel and a rental car. The lady at the travel agency made a lot of phone calls and was able to reserve a hotel (Seibu Orion) on Kokusai Street in Naha City and Manza Beach, and also found a local rental car instead of a major one. (It was right before the trip, so there must have been a vacancy.)
It was still an analog era, and telephone attacks were still powerful. It was also an era when travel agency branches still had a lot of energy.
It was the first time I had ever decided to take such a big trip (for me at the time) so suddenly.
It was my second trip to Okinawa.
During that trip, I enjoyed a meal (Chinese dim sum) and a stay on the beach here.
I would like to stay at this hotel someday.
After that, I also became a member of Okura Nikko One Harmony. I especially like to stay at hotels under the JAL Group. (Originally I was a member of JAL Hotels.)
I want to stay at Alivila someday.
On my ninth trip to Okinawa, I was able to stay at Alivila.
As soon as I arrived, I felt like I was in a foreign country. The arches in the lobby corridor were beautiful.
I talked to the room guide about the memories that led me to this place. It was a stay I've always wanted.
The moment I entered the room, I was excited.
The previous night was at the new Hilton Chatan, so it's a little old, but it has been properly updated and maintained, and you could say it has matured. I felt it was different from the famous hotel in Furano, Hokkaido that I stayed at the previous year.
COVID has really exhausted the travel industry.
I wanted to enjoy the Chinese restaurant "Kinshasha", but it was closed, so it didn't happen.
We had a buffet for dinner.
At our age, all-you-can-eat is hard.
For breakfast, we had a Japanese set meal. It was very delicious.
We didn't go into the sea, but we also found hermit crabs rustling on the beach.
Although it was only one night, it was a memorable stay.
If I have the opportunity, I would like to stay at this hotel again. I hope that Kinshasa will reopen soon.

We stayed here on our wedding anniversary.
It's been a while since I last visited the arched corridors, lobby, pool, etc., but it was still wonderful.
There are also plenty of shops in the building. I bought my first Kariyushi wear here 10 years ago, and now I'm hooked and have more than 10 pieces lol
The staff smile and greet me every time I pass them in the hallway, which makes me feel good.
What surprised me this time was that when I asked if I didn't need my room cleaned during my stay, I received a 2,000 yen voucher to use in the building instead. I felt bad about it lol
Check-out is late at 12 o'clock, so it's helpful that on the last day, I can schedule a marine activity experience in the neighborhood in the morning and then take a good shower in my room!

The only disappointment this time...
We previously held our wedding ceremony at the "La Sole Garden" of the two chapels at Alivila. At that time, I wanted to see the "nameplate engraving" that was kept in the chapel for the first time in 10 years, so when I asked at the front desk when I checked in, the woman said, "I'm not sure if you can see it right away. Please call the chapel and check." At that time, I somehow felt that the other "Glory Church" might be able to arrange it, but "it has nothing to do with La Sole Garden." Indeed, when I looked up the chapel's phone number later, I found an external contact number, so I understood that that was the case, but for my husband and I, the entire "Hotel Nikko Alivila" is a memory of our wedding, and whenever an acquaintance asked me where we held the ceremony, I would say "At the Alivila in Okinawa!", so I felt a little lonely on this trip.
But it's a very comfortable hotel, so I'll be staying here again lol

Very spacious rooms and practically all with a suggestive vare view.
We had booked a sea view room and, even if the one we had been assigned did not satisfy us (it had a kind of tower in front that interrupted the view), they were very kind and changed it.
The beach is very nice and, considering that the Japanese prefer the pool, it was uncrowded and always had umbrellas from the front rows available.

It is only for these reasons that I do not give it a totally negative vote.
The pool is a nightmare, crammed with families with children throwing balloons, swimming with huge lifebuoys, diving and splashing around. To be avoided like the plague.
But the real downside is the breakfast.
The offer of dishes is the best we found in 1 month in Japan, there was everything, tacos, hamburgers, sushi, etc.
Where is the downside?
Although there were 3 restaurants, they were clearly undersized for the number of guests, the wait to enter was even 90 minutes.
For me it is inconceivable that in a 5-star hotel I have to wait an hour and a half for breakfast.
The times we had some excursions planned for the morning, we were forced to go for breakfast at 6:30 when there was still no line, so as not to risk being late.

Restaurants in the evenings did not require Reservation, but prices here were sky high.
Much better to take the car and go for example to the American Village, where there is a huge variety of restaurants, of all kinds.

As I said here the rental car and a must, do not even think about not having it.
