The 7 nights free accommodation, back in March 2014, provided at the Hakuba Luna Hotel through a Liquid Snow Tours competition was AMAZING! The staff were always very friendly and helpful when we needed extra things such as advice on foreign language headache tablets! During the stay we dined at the restaurant for a night and had breakfast there every... More

From start to finish, I was treated to the best of Japanese hospitality in the Olympic certified village (from Nagano 1998) of Hakuba. The service provided by husband and wife team, Julian & Tomoko, was second to none. From the hearty English Breakfast to the large mugs of Yebisu beer and salty snacks (nuts, crisps & nippon snacks) apres ski,... More

Just returned home to England from probably our best holiday ever. After spending time in Tokyo we headed to Hakuba and the Luna Hotel for a bit of snowboarding and skiing and this hotel was the star of our trip. Husband & wife team, Julian & Tomoko and their fantastic staff, really looked after us from the day we arrived... More

There is genuinely nothing bad that could be said about this place. The team at Luna all speak really good English and know how to deliver on making your stay the best it can be. When we arrived, check in was very easy and we were given the option to upgrade our rooms for free as they had vacancies at... More

We stayed at Luna hotel for 6 nights in March 2016. The staff had the best english of any hotel we have been to in Japan, which made everything really easy. The restaurant was great (try the Shabu Shabu) and the hotel was very comfortable. There is a free washing machine and plenty of options in the breakfast buffet. It... More

We had a family room (2 adults and 2 teenagers) which had plenty of space and private bathroom. On arrival Julian welcomed us and over the 5 days we spent at the Luna Hotel all the staff were so friendly and helpful. We dined in twice and both times enjoyed the food, wine and ofcourse the sake. The location was... More

I cannot recommend Luna enough. Julian and his team go out of their way to make you feel at home and nothing is too much trouble. The lodge is small and cosy and very quickly you feel right at home. Well located only 50 meters from the Sakka Chair lift, a cosy lodge with a mix of western and Japanese style. Our room had a king size bed on the traditional Japanese matt flooring, as well as a separate area for luggage, an ensuite and a cupboard. The room has its own heater so you can control the temperature, there... More

Firstly, very little on-snow accommodation in Japan for a family will be cheap. Hakuba Luna hotel is more like a friendly snow lodge than a hotel. It is not large or salubrious, but wonderfully warm and welcoming. We had booked the "family room" about 8 months in advance so were very lucky. The room (of which there is only currently... More
